"Rivers of Babylon" is a Rastafari song written and recorded by Brent Dowe and Trevor McNaughton of the Jamaican reggae group The Melodians in 1970. The lyrics are adapted from the texts of Psalms 19, and 137 in the Hebrew Bible. The Melodians' original version of the song appeared on the soundtrack album for the 1972 movie The Harder They Come, which made it internationally known.
The song was re-popularized in Europe by the 1978 Boney M. cover version, which was awarded a platinum disc and is one of the top-ten, all-time best-selling singles in the UK. The B-side of the single, "Brown Girl in the Ring", also became a hit.
Played on my Alan Brason Custom Stratocaster fitted with Kinman FV-HMS pickups on Bridge position into a Jeds Peds Swamp Thang (Tremolo) then into an Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 0-36.
Sound recorded in Cubase SX6 and edited with the three 4K Video takes made with 3 Panasonic VX870 4K camcorders in Song Vegas Pro 14

Hi Ian - I wanted to record it yesterday but the family came round so it had to wait ! LOL.. You may have heard on the news about the Artificial Intelligence programs that kids are using to write their essays ? well it's spilled over to music there are lots of ".ai" on -line Programs which remove the vocals from songs and make perfect backing tracks... I found a good one and used it to make this BT. It was a remix version and the program took off all the vocals - much better than all the previous programs that did this and they are free.
