The band quickly rose to prominence with their powerful, melodic sound, blending traditional heavy metal with elements of power and speed metal. Their music is characterized by intricate guitar solos, driving rhythms, and soaring vocals, drawing influence from both Western and Japanese metal scenes. The band's lineup consists of Asami on vocals, Midori and Miyako on guitars, Haruna on drums, and Fami on bass. Known for their high-energy performances and technical prowess, Lovebites has garnered a dedicated global fanbase, releasing several successful albums and earning critical acclaim within the metal community.
"Glory to the World" is a standout track by Lovebites, featured on their 2021 EP, "Glory, Glory, to the World." The song epitomizes the band's signature blend of melodic and power metal, delivering a powerful anthem that showcases their musical virtuosity. With its epic arrangement, the track opens with a majestic guitar riff that sets the tone for Asami's soaring vocals. Very few people, for some reason, don’t like Asami’s vocals, but she’s an extraordinary vocalist, so different, and her voice is one of the things that sets them apart. I love Band-Maid, Nemophila, Asterism, Mardelas, DIH, Whiskey dust, Aldious, Show-Ya, etc., but Lovebites is unquestionably my No. 1 rock/metal band in the world. Lovebites toured the UK in 2019 opening for Dragonforce and they’re good friends, especially Herman Li. These women are extremely talented and proficient musicians. They really shine in their live performances. Their main influences are Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, Megadeth, Helloween, Dragonforce, Angra, Deep Purple, Yngwie Malmsteen, Gary Moore, etc., but they have been developing their own and unique style. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just seven years. For you, I recommend reacting to “The hammer of wrath”, “Raise some hell”, “Set the world on fire”, “Judgement day”, “Break the wall”, “Shadowmaker”, “Dancing with the devil”, “No time to hesitate”. For a different side of them: “Chopin etude + Swan song”, “Liar”, “Empty daydream”, “Edge of the world”, “Epilogue”, “Frozen serenade”, “Spellbound”. All songs live.
Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene.
To me, Band-Maid basically plays hard rock and Lovebites is essentially a heavy metal band (but both bands are so versatile and are not limited to any genre). Obviously hard rock is easier to assimilate than heavy metal and trying to compare both bands is just nonsense. Music is a very subjective matter, it depends on personal preferences and tastes.

Welcome to the realm of the Wolfpack (Lovebites fans from around the world) ! Note that these amazing ladies' music is not just "DragonForce-like", they play a seamless and innovative blend of multiple metal & rock genres/sub-genres which makes their sound unique and contemporary. BTW, Lovebites toured with DragonForce in the UK back in 2019. Asami (lead vocalist) has a powerful and broad mezzo-soprano range which allows her to soar above Lovebites' extremely fast-paced and heavy instrumentation with ease to provide the melodic contrast. Moreover, this band is phenomenal LIVE ! To fully appreciate Asami's vocal range and also to experience how truly talented this band is, check out "Edge of the World" LIVE : czcams.com/video/UZjxMjBop7w/video.html

LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics:
Everything around us will fall into dark
When you keep on looking into the sadness
Nobody in this world may ever be free
My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath
But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light in this world
    Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings
A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow
A blur in the future, the fear of unknown
There will come a time where we can leave everything behind
Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky
Together we will make it through this deep night
    Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
SOLO: midori / miyako / both
And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world
    Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together,
    Nothing more precious

What you have to look at is that this is a band who are deliberately out to play music in the styles of their 80s metal influences. 80s metal bands have clean vocals, and so do Lovebites.

They had common tour with Dragonforce in November 2019 in UK.
    LOVEBITES.
They are listened not only by metalheads. Lad ies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, R&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Obviously they draw a lot from British, German and American metal. All this makes their style unique.

For people who don't like Asamis singing first ( i had the same problem) start with their softer songs, like the e-songs which are : "Epilogue", "Edge of the World" and "Empty Daydreams".
It was maybe because i came from symphonic metal bands like Nightwish and Epica and was not soo used with power metal. But after these songs i also started to like her singing in the pure power metal stuf.

I'm not listen to music and rely on the vocal style.
What I care is their vocal ability and control.
The question is, "Are they can really sing?".
If they are, "Are they can also do the high note?".
If they do, I just hope they can really sing live on the stage.
If they already have these point, I think it's fair enough to not to underestimate their vocal abilities.
Because maybe we can't sing better than them.
So all we had to do is appreciate their talents.
Enjoy or not, it's about personal taste.
But talent is talent, and we can't judge a great talent.

    Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥
    Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album came out in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of DVD/Blu-ray live recordings.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.
This year in June LOVEBITES‘ first world tour starts in Europe. In September they will play their biggest headline show ever in Tokyo. After that LOVEBITES will have their US debut …
The band members of LOVEBITES are (including their official nicknames)
Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
    Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3

LOVEBITES is a five-member all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). They transcend gender, genre, and geography, with some 60 songs in their discography. They won Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band (2018), toured with Dragonforce (2019), first female Japanese band to perform at Wacken Open Air (Germany) and others in Europe, and are unusual among Japanese bands in choosing to sing in English plus good lyrics (a daunting task for native Japanese speakers).
They play a variety of heavy metal styles and are heavily influenced by NWBHM, especially Iron Maiden and the "big four" thrash metal bands. Their live performances are best:

Sorry, but ... there has NOT been any shift towards rock or metal in Japan! In Japan, hard rock and heavy metal have been around since, believe it or not, the 1970s. Over the past 45 years, a huge number of rock and metal bands have appeared in Japan. In the 1980s, several albums by the Japanese heavy metal band LОUDNESS were included in the Billboard 200 (US). Japan has a huge number of rock and metal bands of different genres, most of which are head and shoulders above and more technical (like professionals) than most American and European bands! Europe and America simply did not want to notice these bands for a long time. And there are HUNDREDS of them! There are more than 50 all-female rock and metal bands in Japan today (this is according to the most conservative estimates).
Rather, a shift began to occur in the consciousness of Europeans and Americans, who (suddenly!), largely thanks to the Internet and YT, began to turn towards Japan and notice Japanese bands.
P.S. In terms of scale, the Japanese music industry ranks Second in the World!

I listen to Tricot... and other bands as well. Western music drives the market... that is why I likely hadn't heard a majority of these bands before the internet. But the explosion of bands that I have heard since is crazy. Being that she didn't know any of those other bands, I felt like easing her into them is a better idea :)

I started listening to Japanese bands about 5-6 years ago. This is such a huge volume of heavy music that I am afraid that I will not have enough time to cover everything. In the fall of 2024, it will be 4 years since LOVEBITES #1 on my list of favorite bands (regardless of country)

Don't like the singing? She's an ex-soul/R&B singer. Have your GF listen to Maiden to see contrasting vocals. Rock band? It's a metal band. Babymetal has little influence if any. Maybe Passcode fits that description. . Band-Maid, Nemophila, Lovebites & others are musicians, BM is an idol group backed by a few session musicians that rotate. The idol feel will always appeal to that younger crowd (Cute girls dancing & singing). Rock/metal has been going on for a long time in Japan. Likely more inflienced by MTH, Show-Ya (& some others). Lovebites sound is inflienced by Euro type metal and you will get Maiden, Priest, Slayer, Testament and some Metallica vibes as well. The 2 guitarists are as talented a duo I've seen in 5 decades.

Sorry, but there were other virtuoso guitarists before Herman Li. For example, Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie Malmsteen. Miyako (brunette) and Midori (blonde) from LOVEBITES name these guitarists as those who had the greatest influence on their playing. Guitarists also influenced them: Scott LePage, Timothy Henson, Nuno Bettencourt, Kiko Loureiro.
As for Herman Li, he invited LOVEBITES to conduct a joint Tour of UK (11 cities, 2019). This happened at Metal Hammer's GOLDEN GODS ceremony in 2018 (London, UK). LOVEBITES received the GOLDEN GODS as the 'Best New Band' in the world of heavy music.
The range of genres that LOVEBITES plays is much wider than that of DRAGONFORCE.

@@aviewfromthestage Thank you. LOVEBITES has a lot of fast guitar solos, including harmonizing 2 guitars. Therefore, thoughts about Herman Li arise. But if you want to check out more LOVEBITES songs, you will see that there are differences between Herman and Midori & Miyako. They met with Herman several times at various musical events. Including in the US (NAMM, 2020) where Midori&Miyako played, representing the products of various musical equipment manufacturers. M&M has a very good, friendly relationship with Herman.

Congratulations, you just found the most talented metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. If they are not your thing, then you probably simply don’t like melodic metal, because they are the best at it.
They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.
They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD:

At 2:45 she said "she can sing", but when commenting at the end, all of a sudden she doesn't like the singing? A bit of a contradiction to say the least! They are #lovebites and they play heavy metal, in other words they are a heavy metal band not a rock band, they cover the whole genre of metal from slow and melodic ballads to heavy thrash and excel in all. Asami's vocals are very powerful and clean with a range 2nd to none, watch them live and you'll understand what makes them stand out from anything else out there! As for band maid, they to are unique and awesome, but in a different way, they are a rock/pop band who without a doubt are top level musicians, but lovebites are on a level that is only reached by a few, but each of us has our own taste in music and this band hits me like nothing I've ever heard or seen, I'm over 50 and I've seen and heard a lot but these are a once in a lifetime phenom 🤘🎸🎹🎤🥁🐺

  • @garykeeling2275
    @garykeeling2275 Před měsícem +5

I'll admit that Asami's vocals take a bit of getting used to for traditional metal fans, because she's an R&B/Soul/Gospel singer fronting a metal band. But once you look at it from that point of view, it becomes a refreshing and unique quality. I also adore Band-Maid - both Asami and Saiki have voices that are atypical of female Japanese rock and metal vocalists. Another is Mayu from Nemophila, not to mention Yukina from Hanabie (both bands I HIGHLY recommend you check out). As for the Dragonforce comparisons, they have toured with Dragonforce, and guitarists Midori and Miyako have joined Dragonforce onstage to perform some metalized bluegrass (look up Dragonforce + Lovebites "Farming Simulator"). However, Dragonforce was not a significant influence on them. Rather, both LOVEBITES and Dragonforce share a common influence in Helloween, who is one of LOVEBITES' two main influences, along with Iron Maiden.

  • @GrayFox14
    @GrayFox14 Před měsícem +16

Thanks for your reaction. LOVEBITES and BAND-MAID are different genres. With all my deep respect for BAND-MAID (I listened to this band for a long time until I met LOVEBITES), their music is simpler than that of LOVEBITES and is more related to pop rock mixed with hard rock.
LOVEBITES is a heavy metal band with two lead guitarists. Their songs are more complex. LOVEBITES play different metal - thrash, speed, progressive, power, neoclassical. Several of their songs are hard rock. At their concerts, LOVEBITES also play classical music. The band adds piano to their metal songs. Often LOVEBITES mixes different genres in one song. As, for example, in 'Glory to the World', the beginning is symphonic, then speed metal with the addition of the sound characteristic of progressive and neoclassical (Bach and Mozart).
Asami's (lead vocal) voice may seem unusual to some people at first. Her voice was also unusual for me. For about the first week. Now I think her voice is perfect for the music of LOVEBITES. LOVEBITES is a different level of music - faster, more complex and multi-faceted (consisting of many layers, like a layer cake). The more complex the music, the more time it takes to understand, appreciate and accept it. But if you try this “layer cake”, then LOVEBITES will really hook you and the more you listen to them, the more you will admire them. I judge from my own personal experience.
As for BABYMETAL, this is a vocal and dance trio consisting of three young ladies. There is a metal band called KAMI BAND, consisting of session musicians. To the music performed by KAMI BAND, the trio of ladies BABYMETAL dances and sings. BABYMETAL are more popular than pure metal bands. Largely due to the spectacle of their vibrant shows. Which are organized by companies working with BABYMETAL. I don't want to offend anyone, but... BABYMETAL is called "metal" only thanks to the KAMI BAND band. KAMI BAND are excellent musicians who are in the background. If it were not for the music of KAMI BAND, then BABYMETAL could be classified as pop music, which has always been more popular in the world than metal.🤗

Only 2 minutes into the reaction and a big doubt assails me... Why are you only occupying the lower half of the screen? Learning to occupy space is basic. I'm sorry if I sound annoying but I'm not lying.
EDIT: Now I'm done. The way of singing is not about countries like Japan. That's not even remotely the case. We are talking about Power Metal, it's a question about musical genre. Very common in Power Metal is a singer (male or female) with a semi-operatic style who frequently reaches quite high tones, both options separately or together. Bruce Dickinson, do you know him? Symphony X, do you know them? Dream Theater, do you know them? Those are just 3 examples of many others...

They are bringing back good heavy metal from the 80s a good mix of Helloween, Iron maiden, Judas priest, among many other influences, Yes they toured with dragonforce but dragonforce is not what they were going for. Originally they just wanted to put together a powerful female metal band that people who like Metallica Iron Maiden, slayer or anthrax can appreciate.
The vocalist who never sang heavy metal but comes from an R&B background tried out for the band and they loved her voice. She became the singer she is today because of the combination of backgrounds that meshed together in such a harmonious way. They are more their own genre than any other band I know about today. Another reactor put like this, "If Iron maiden and Metallica had a baby and it was a girl you will have lovebites."
Most people who listened to metal in the 80s will imediatley go for the Iron Maiden sound comparison and usally will label the singer as a female Bruce Dickenson. Perssoanlly I think she sounds more like a female Rob Halford. She does not sound like any other singer nor is she trying to sound like any other singer. Asami wanted to sing like R&B singers like Aretha Franklin & Alicia Keys before joining lovebites.
They wear the white outfits because they wanted to be differnt from other heavy metal bands labeling themselves as the 'Lone wolf of heavy metal" which is why they have a wolf on all of their album artwork.
Check out "Thunder Vengence" or "Set the world on fire" from their channel for a more thrash metal song, they also make some of the best 80s Balads or power balads too.

There is much more to this band than meets the eye, they are the ultimate test of "do not judge a book by it's cover". Another note i forgot to add they also add a lot of classical influence in their music, the Guitarist with the black hair on the right side of the screen can play piano just as good as she can play Guitar. I would also recommend a song called "Rising" czcams.com/video/o-WS8Fa4Jug/video.html or a song called "Empty DayDream" czcams.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/video.html Both amazing songs with emotional lyrics with less of a Heavy Metal sound.

Common comparisons. Iron Maiden, Dragonforce, Slayer, Metallica. They basically take a lot of inspiration and then up the anti on it whilst adding a load of new elements and adding a load of technical playing. The singer I have seen Asami compared to most across at this point hundreds of reaction videos is Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden.
Dragonforce have performed with Lovebites, with Herman Lee wearing a white dress. But they were just kinda dicking around.
Not being sure on Asami's voice is a reasonably common first reaction for some people. I had the same response the first time I heard them. I just wasn't used to this singing style with this style of music. Within about 2 months they were the first time I have ever had a favourite band.
Lovebites are always best live. The MVs are cool, but their lives are amazing.
    A good next Lovebites would be something like;
LOVEBITES / Set The World On Fire [Live from "Ride For Vengeance Tour 2021"]
as it's quite a contrast to the style of song you just did. However Asami does always use this sing style.
    If you want some Japanese women with a different style of vocal, very slightly more "metal" sounding, try either of the following;
Broken By The Scream - Sayonara Birthday MV
Hanabie - We Love Sweets MV
Babymetal really helped to popularise Japanese metal, and Japanese metal women, outside of Japan. However there were quite a few great Japanese women metal bands in Japan before Babymetal.
You are reasonably on point with the idea that a pretty good chunk of Lovebites fan base are long time metalheads with a lot of fav bands from the 80s. The tend to do Thrash metal, Power metal, kinda close to Symphonic metal, Metal ballads, very occasional bit of 80s synth cheese metal.

The song where they are dancing around with Dragonforce while Herman is in a white dress (cover of Celine Dion "My Heart Will Go On") is not the only time they've been on stage with Dragonforce. Midori and Miyako also joined them a few times to play a metal version of "Farming Simulator" (a bluegrass song from the video game of the same title), with Midori, Miyako, and Herman trading off guitar leads, and Sam playing banjo. Lovebites did tour with DragonForce, however, I think you are drawing way too many conclusions after just hearing one song. Lovebites plays many different styles of metal. They easily have 20 songs better than this one in my opinion, despite this video being the one with the most views on their channel. People think DF when they hear them play this song, but other songs people say they sound like Iron Maiden, and still other songs they sound like Slayer or Testament. So don't make any judgements without hearing more songs by Lovebites. I recommend The Hammer of Wrath next. Do the live version video that is on the Lovebites channel.

Considering most Lovebites fans feel that Lovebites music is superior to anything DF puts out it didn't come across that way. Sure Herman Li is a better guitarist, than M&M, but the DF songs fall flat for me, with nothing of interest other than the speed.

    • @zainalabidinramli762
      @zainalabidinramli762 Před měsícem +4

Herman Li of DF? I smiled on hearing his name when invoked as the benchmark for Lovebites dual guitarist. But where is he today post DF? The reality is Herman is only speed and technique,, He has no appreciation for music theory and thus do not apply time signature concepts and dynamics. As a result his ability to compose is limited to only perhaps guitar tabs. He cant even be a session musician as he has no proficiency in reading and writing.
Those 2 accomplished musician guitarist from Lovebites would become his music teacher on the contrary. The quality of the written guitar solos from Lovebites are miles beyond those performed by DF. perhaps prepared by ear and memory only.
A firebrand guitarist is only as good as the speed and technique achieved, but without melodies that sinks into the heart, the speed will kill the guitarist in the middle of the road. End of a career.

You have just witnessed in my opinion, the best band out there right now. There are over 50 songs to enjoy, all top level quality. Asami is an incredible singer, just need a little time to adjust to her style and accent. Thanks for reacting! 🤘🐺🤘

I have a few things to say about this, which I hope you will take positively, there is no personal criticism intended.
Lovebites, formed in 2016 by two former members of another all female Japanese band, Destrose, is very heavily influenced by British and European metal bands such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, from the 1970's and 80's, not American bands, which may be more the background you two are coming from. They do not, and never intended, to play the American 'Grunge' style metal, which, correct me if I'm wrong, is what passes for metal in the minds of many Americans today. I'm 75 later this year and have been listening to rock and metal since it all kicked off with bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Led Zep. Bands I went to see were the previously mentioned and bands you maybe have never heard of, Hawkwind, Saxon, Motorhead, UFO, Wishbone Ash, Uriah Heep and the like. I am also a huge Rush fan, but most American bands from the era, the likes of Kiss, Aerosmith, Guns n Roses, were never high on my list of liked bands. Even then there was a different style that for me did not carry over. That has increased over the years and I stopped listening to new American bands many years ago. The Japanese bands on the other hand, Lovebites and Band Maid to name two, appeal very much to me, because I hear so much influence from the bands I liked years ago. I would reject any suggestion that they are 'copying', I think the term would be 'inspired by'. The level of musical ability in bands like Lovebites is very deep indeed. Just as an example, Miyako, the guitarist with the long black hair, and who writes much of the music, is a classically trained pianist from the age of 3. She often incorporates themes from classical compositions into hers. As an example of this, try Swan Song with the Chopin introduction played on piano by Miyako. Asami, the vocalist, had a background as a Jazz and R&B singer before joining Lovebites. She is also a Ballet Dancer. She uses her voice as another musical instrument as well as a means to vocalise the lyrics. Something that often comes up in reactions, especially from Americans, is her accent and pronunciation, as if everyone has to speak English with an American accent (and yes, you guys do have an accent, even though many of you seem to think you don't) I'm from the south east of England, and within the UK there is a wide range of different accents, Someone from the East End of London has a very different accent to someone from Newcastle upon Tyne, which is different again to Glasgow or Liverpool. We are used to dealing with different accents and so have far less problem understanding, say, a Japanese person, speaking or singing in English, than Americans seem to. (Just my opinion of course)
On Dragon Force. In 2019 Lovebites toured the UK with Dragon Force. There seems to be a great deal of mutual respect and liking between them. During the concert closing the tour Dragon Force invited Lovebites on stage to perform a metal version of 'My Heart Will Go On' with them and featuring Herman Li in a white dress as the 'missing sixth member of Lovebites' .
Music is a very personal thing, and not everyone will like the same thing. I have friends who do not understand my continuing love of metal at my age, and completely misinterpret why I like the Japanese female bands I do. It's not me being an old perv, it's the music they play. I hope you can get over your problem with Asami's voice, personally I think she is a wonderful singer, and Lovebites have some amazing songs in their catalogue. I hope that you will persevere and try more of their music. It will be very rewarding if you do.

For all female Japanese bands, Show-Ya was an early band.(1981-1988, 2005-present) Another band that was popular in all female Japanese metal is Aldious (2008- present)
another that was a predecessor to Lovebites is Destrose. Babymetal started in 2010 and is a kawaii metal (also known as idol metal, cute metal, J-pop metal, The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency, not in the same classification as the other bands mentioned here. Babymetal is for the masses that like dancing girls with a singer. Hey, Taylor Swift is popular and so were boy bands. Popular doesn't mean good. The producers will shove down the throats of the public what they want to promote and become popular. It's a business and money rules every time.
Recommend: Shadowmaker, When Destinies Align, Set the World on Fire, A Frozen Serenade, Edge of the World, all live

Exactly. Moreover, DESTROSE was formed earlier (in 2006-2007) than BABYMETAL appeared (2010). DESTROSE gave birth to other female bands: MARY'S BLOOD, FATE GEAR, DISQUALIA, MARDELAS, LOVEBITES, NEMOPHILA, LONESOME_BLUE.

This is the comment I sent to CZcamsr ,"Philly Steampunk Reacts", when he suggested that BabyMetal was responsible for the proliferation of Japanese girl bands:
"Sorry to put it this way... but, your initial comment shows your lack of knowledge of the J Rock/Metal scene.
Japanese girls have been forming authentic rock/metal bands since the mid-eighties, either as co-ed bands like Mari Hamada, Ann Lewis, Terra Rosa, Night Hawks, Saber Tiger, Maximun The Hormone or as all-female bands like Shonen Knife, Show-Ya or Aphasia.
In my opinion, the real turning point of this trend was 2005, with the reformation of the legendary female hard rock/metal band Show-Ya... Immediately after this, there was an explosion of female bands like Destrose, Aldious, Fate Gear, Gacharic Spin, Mary's Blood, Cyntia, Doll$Boxx, Lovendor, Disqualia, Bridear, Band-Maid, Lovebites, Trident, not to mention the very successful pop rock bands such Scandal or Hump Back ... and these in turn have had an exponential effect on the creation of many more female bands after the pandemic.
So to answer the question on your tumbnail... No, BabyMetal has not started anything.
Although BabyMetal is very successful and even liked by many of the members of this new bands, it is basically an Idol Group backed by some of the best male instrumentalists in Japan.
I don't believe for a moment that BabyMetal inspired the explosion of young female virtuosos playing drums and bass in Japan.😉"

This is not really a good song for the first reaction, as it is not really a typical Lovebites song. Theit style vary a lot, but this song is more like their "Christmas song" in my opinion... It was made around covid time to cheer people and stay positive...

Sorry, but you can't listen to Dragon Force at all, you should listen to more power metal from the 80's and 90's like Helloween, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Angra, Sonata Arctica so you have an idea of what they sound like.

Band-Maid is Hard Rock Not Metal. About the singing: 95% of all male or female Rock & Metal singers have that special attitude that you might like - to me it`s boring and Asamis voice is like a fresh breathe in Metal.

Dude....if you are hearing DragonForce, then you are listening to something else.
As far as Asami's voice goes...the thing that makes the band WHO they are is that Asami's vocal style is R&B influenced, which is definitely not standard for any Progressive/Power Metal.
Keep listening until you get it.

band made (small letters) is garbage group, not worth mentioning with LOVEBITES. Girl that founded Livebites with drummer Haruna, bassist was under influence of DragonForce. But she thanks god left the band. In time of Glory to the world she (Miho) is still in the band. Now they have new young bassist Fami who thanks god is not under influence of DragonForce
