Asami's powerful and broad mezzo-soprano range allows her to soar above Lovebites' extremely fast-paced & heavy instrumentation with ease to provide the melodic contrast. She fits the band perfectly. To really appreciate Asami's vocals, check out "Edge of the World" LIVE : czcams.com/video/UZjxMjBop7w/video.html

    LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics:
Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood
People live in fear, covered in mud
Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for sisters
There is a thousand, a thousand of evils
Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for brothers
    Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
    Into the Eye of Heaven
    Eagles at a holy war
    Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and all for one forevermore
    SOLO: midori
Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall
    Reincarnation, wait for your call
Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for sisters
    Morning star and dying moon
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Mighty soul, let there be hope
    Into the Eye of Heaven
    Eagles at a holy war
    Fly higher than the sun
Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
    Facing the fate, holy war
SOLO: miyako / midori / both
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for brothers
    Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
    Into the Eye of Heaven
    Eagles at a holy war
    Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and all for one forevermore
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
    Facing the fate, holy war

I'm 72 years old and I spent a good part of my youth traveling around Europe (I'm French) to see and listen to the best metal bands on stage. And for me there is no doubt that these young women form the best group, and the best twin guitars, in the history of metal through their creativity, their versatility, the lyrics, the collective and individual technique and their humility because this are not capricious divas as so many have been. And all this with all my respect for the groups of the past. The new metal standard is Lovebites! As for Asami's voice, it is absolutely perfect and it shouldn't be changed for anything in the world.

Sorry guys , they have exceeded all those old metal bands. THIS is the new top metal act , as voted by Europeans, as Best New Metal Act after 2 festivals (Bloodstock & Wacken), have voted them. Move over guys cos the Queens are in town. You can return to the bedroom to practice but you want to try and catch up, but you won't as they are on the run up the ladder m, and won't stop for anyone. As for the culture, yes they start learning piano at 3 or 4 years old and practice like hell..... oh how terrible of them. hahaha. And actually every girl in this band started piano from that early age. So shock horror, they all came into this style understanding , harmony, arrangement, composition, good tempo and technique . What other entire metal has that as a weapon, ?? Answer..None ! PLEASE listen to Swan Song w/Chopin intro m LIVE - 2020 version. Btw they chose Asami an R&B singer so as to stand out from all the gravel whiskey soaked voices in metal, and have melody. And wore classy white clothes as opposed to trashy black .They have dared to be different, and it's working. yes they love 80's metal , but are evolving.

I'd say typical metal voice is just another band, one of thousands bands. Even if you like that way, they refused to be in that situation. That is the reason they wear white dress with no studs nor spikes, no tatoos. They wanted to be special and stands out from other bands and that the reason they got big support from Wolfpack. BTW, the singer is not really non-metal. She is called by mtalheads and some other UTube reactors as female Bruce Dickinson, hence it is very much Iron Maiden like just like you said. Luckily there are tons of regular metal bands out there for your girl friend.

This song "Holy War" was my first experience with LOVEBITES (a reaction to the 2020 live version / CZcams) and they blew me away immediately. It's the contrasts that make them so exciting for me. 5 lovely LADYS enter the stage in white Dresses and then comes a wonderful concentrated load of power, speed and virtuosity. The "Electric Pentagram & Judgement Day" albums made me a big fan and with "FAMI" they achieved a great comeback. So the future will remain exciting, "An ASAMI Long Scream" and "a big Wolfhowl" to the Wolfpack ;)

Different people have different tastes, personally I think the One and Only Voice of Asami is unique and perfect for #lovebites, it's also the sound that Miho, co-founder along with Haruna, were looking for whilst putting the band together. I'm not a fan of scream vocals, although I do like Mayu from Nemophila, but I can appreciate it, and an honest opinion is a good thing so I have no problem with your thoughts. However, I don't see the point of reacting to a video if it's invisible to your viewers, 🙈👁👀😎

    Hi from France:
Sorry guys, but I'm well over 70 and I think I'm way younger than you two... Ha, ha, ha! I also really like other groups like Band Maid, Nemophila or Sokoninaru, but Lovebites... LOVEBITES!!! Talent, talent, always talent. The references, but above all the appropriation and evolution and above all musical knowledge and virtuosity are there.
These infernal guitars, this uncompromising drums and this voice! This voice ! What a voice ! Finally we see and hear something other in the heavy music world than these worn-out voices with no capacity to renew themselves.
LOVEBITES is, with a few other groups from the Japanese Archipelago, the assurance of renewal, dynamism, beauty (even and especially in the voice) and elegance...
The future is here and rolling without those who want to stay in ruts...
    Enjoy Wolfpack!!!

LOVEBITES do have several songs influenced by Iron Maiden (Maiden is one of their two main influences). However, other than Asami having a vocal quality that is often compared to Bruce Dickinson, in my opinion this song doesn't sound anything like Iron Maiden. Rather, it sounds like their other main influence Helloween. By the way, the voice DOES match the sound. But it might not come across that way if you're not familiar with genres like power metal, prog metal and symphonic metal. That mix of uber clean vocals withvery heavy riffs is typical of those genres. And one last thought from a fan of both LOVEBITES and Band-Maid, you can't compare the two. Two different genres of music. It's like comparing Iron Maiden to Santana.

This is the comment I sent to CZcamsr ,"Philly Steampunk Reacts", when he suggested that BabyMetal was responsible for the proliferation of Japanese girl bands:
"Sorry to put it this way... but, your initial comment shows your lack of knowledge of the J Rock/Metal scene.
Japanese girls have been forming authentic rock/metal bands since the mid-eighties, either as co-ed bands like Mari Hamada, Ann Lewis, Terra Rosa, Night Hawks, Saber Tiger, Maximun The Hormone or as all-female bands like Shonen Knife, Show-Ya or Aphasia.
In my opinion, the real turning point of this trend was 2005, with the reformation of the legendary female hard rock/metal band Show-Ya... Immediately after this, there was an explosion of female bands like Destrose, Aldious, Fate Gear, Gacharic Spin, Mary's Blood, Cyntia, Doll$Boxx, Lovendor, Disqualia, Bridear, Band-Maid, Lovebites, Trident, not to mention the very successful pop rock bands such Scandal or Hump Back ... and these in turn have had an exponential effect on the creation of many more female bands after the pandemic.
So to answer the question on your tumbnail... No, BabyMetal has not started anything.
Although BabyMetal is very successful and even liked by many of the members of this new bands, it is basically an Idol Group backed by some of the best male instrumentalists in Japan.
I don't believe for a moment that BabyMetal inspired the explosion of young female virtuosos playing drums and bass in Japan.😉"

  • @COTTERO
    @COTTERO Před 2 měsíci +1

Rob, is a strange guy, the first thing he did after listen to Lovebites was undermined Band-Maid (of which Rob promised to make more reactions to).😯
It's clear that the Band-Maid's sole reaction Rob did crushed the fragile BabyMetal world he had created in his mind.
Rob also says that Lovebites is "light years, light years ahead Band-Maid", OK, let's compare.
Let's start with the drummers, I know Haruna's work with Destrose and Lovebites, great drummer, but for me Akene is the winner for her footwork and stamina.
On the bass section both Fami and Rosana:Miho are great bassists, Misa is technically as good as them, but I prefer the style and structure of Misa's bass lines.
On the guitars, I'm not going to argue that Midori and Miyako both have better technique than Kanami, but "Mincho" is far, far superior in the creativity and originality of her licks and riffs... of course Rob will never be able to check this out, because he absurdly gave up on reacting to Band-Maid.
Lastly there are the singers, what can I say, both Asami and Saiki are excellent, but I personally prefer Saiki's more earthy style.
Therefor, a Lovebites fan could have a completely different opinion, but in the end both bands are very compareble in talent, and not "light years ahead" from each other.
P.S. It is fair to clarify for the Lovebites fans, that I respect Lovebites talent a lot, but I really don't like the power metal they play, mainly because it reminds me of a time of European power metal decline, with bands like Helloween... after the Keeper II, the last Stratovarius, Edguy, HammerFall, Sonata Arctica or Avantasia.

    • @aviewfromthestage
      @aviewfromthestage  Před 2 měsíci +2

HAHAHA. Okay. "I" am a strange guy, yet you sit there and list off alllll of your super cool and "hip" bands like you are the undeniable leader of the metal world. Dude, I come from the hardcore world. Where EVERYTHING is fast and aggressive. Naturally, I am not going to like Band-Maid. I prefer straight up power. And I think Asami(?) has vocal power in spades. AND the guitarists? AND the DRUMMER? Have you EVER picked up drum sticks in your life? Have you ever tried to do MASSIVE amounts of double kick? Do you even know what 4/4 time vs 6/8 time is? Stamina??? DANNNG man.
Come on dude, you are the metal GOD, right? And you're gonna sit there and tell me that Band-Maid is better than this band? Can you enjoy it? Sure! But my opinions are just that. OPINIONS. If you don't like em... Make your own channel there guy!

    • @gillesmurat7362
      @gillesmurat7362 Před 2 měsíci

I partially agree with your comments, but...
I can't make comparisons like you.
These 10 musicians are each perfect in their own genre and the recipes they compose in each of these two bands border on excellence while keeping their own personalities.
I have a hard time saying which of the two bands is better, it just depends on the days or times I listen to them. Of the four guitarists my preference goes more to Midori, but I systematically fall under the discreet (and very effective) charm of Kanami's playing. I am very impressed by MISA MISA MISA, but Miho had (still has in my heart) her place in LOVEBITES, the place of a great bassist. On the other hand, I have a hard time choosing between Akane and... Murata Tamu who always surprises me more. As for the voices and the charisma of the two lead singers, they are two Goddesses, we do not compare Goddesses, we listen to them and worship them...
Enjoy the Wolfpack & the Maidiacs!

@@aviewfromthestage i have been a fan of LOVEBITES since December 2020, and cottero has been craping on them since then, he has always hated them, not sure why he is even here, he should have saved this for the maid reaction, so when it comes to LB, take what he says with a dump truck filled with salt, i agree on the maids, if fact i will go further, i think they suck, have not listened to a complete maid song in over 3 years, if you want to keeps reacting to these 2 bands, you do LB, and the girl friend can do B-M, and solves the problem.

J metal band with texture in the voice. Nemophila / Rise. And if you really want something that you need to hold on to your chairs. JILUKA / VENOM or Neoclassicial band GALNERYUS/ Angel of Salvation, live version i mindblowing. You can find anything from Japan musicvideo but almost always with a twist. Check out Broken By The Scream or the grand mothers och J heavymetal SHOW-YA.

This may be a feeling that only Japanese can understand, but rock music and Japanese do not sound good much. They feel the same way and have made it their policy to sing in English.
