  • Today’s feature on AutoHunter Cinema is “GTX-R,” a 1971 Plymouth GTX restomod built by Horsepower Northwest. Finished in F8 green over a tan and black interior, the Plymouth features Hellcat cold-air intake headlights, screen-printed GTX-R logos and a staggered set of custom satin bronze Boze Alloys wheels (18 inches up front, 19 inches out back). Power comes from a 630-horsepower 8.4-liter Viper V10 mated to a TREMEC T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission. Underneath, the GTX-R features a fully welded chassis with upgraded Baer disc brakes at all four corners, plus a custom exhaust.

Green is not a color I would like on a vehicle, but I like this green.

Absolutely gorgeous car, I wouldn't change a thing. Just one thing, that is a Gen 3 8.3L engine factory rated 510hp/525Tq.

Yes, thanks for your comment! This is indeed a Gen 3 Viper motor. This particular motor has been built out by Prefix and dyno tested at 630hp and 660ft/lbs of torque!

Car is beautifully done, but I would not have gone with the Viper transplant, personally I don’t like the sound of them, a 572, crate motor would have been my first choice, V-12 anything, doesn’t really sound like much to me, either loud and farty, or just plain meh! I know you Euro lovers are going to have a kitty, chill, let’s just agree to disagree and move on. 😊
