Like in so many other games the Devs could have just moved on, Legacy could have been as far as they went with its old code and called it a day, most by then had their game time in hundreds if not thousands of hours, not bad value for $20
I like your content but this take is really bad lol. I'm going to remain as neutral as I can here, but considering The Isle devs took over 2 years to rebuild the game instead of dropping it entirely because of a single dev ruining all their progress is very respectful. They didn't do this for themselves. I feel like most other people would've lost motivation instantly upon having years of progress ruined in a blink of an eye. Say what you want about the devs attitudes, but you must respect their dedication from trying to start over.

No one in the community "Likes" Dondi he's tolerated because he's the owner of the isle, he's a pretty sketchy dude and most people think he's an asshole, I'm sorry you had to deal with him. If he didn't have the isle no one would pay him any mind.
Thats just it though he shouldnt be tolerated! If ppl wanted real change stop playing the game, stop watching isle videos, tell ppl to stop buying it Encourage others to do the same. Eventually the game will crash and burn and Dondi will eventually be forced to sell the company! Thats not how a game or any anything succeeds thats how it stays the same!

They possible could just shelve the ip and we will not see a normal dino game. The problem is you cannot efficiently boycott someone because people likes the product and not interested whoever makes or financing it. This is a situation when you need tolerate because he is the owner, the idea maker and a person who kickstarted the game. This not means a person should behave like a big child but different people with different personalities. I personally not likes my bosses but i need to tolerate them because i have less option to find a better job. The life forces people to change, adopt or go away if the situation barely tolerable.

Eh they are all a bird of a feather 🪶. Any dev that isn’t a piece of human trash left a long time ago. Shit they even had a child predator as their PR manager.
I can think of people who are genuinely like that.
VisualTech and Foszor where one of those people and even the quiet ones like Wedge and Jace and some animators like Baardo and their trailer maker Seiza is as well and add tapwing and Fred and whoever is the rest of the concept makers in the team. There's probably more but we just don't know them as there as some of the developers who are part of the team that kept low and quiet by choice apparently anyone who works from them can do that if they wish to stay quiet about themselves or show themselves publicly.

You maybe right in some way but I genuinely do believe that the people in there that I listed that are good are actually good because I've had good experiences with them and I tried to see if others are as well where from my experience they said it was chill and alright nothing big really and generally there's not much fault to be found with them because reasons being they don't talk alot and when they do it's respectful and chill as fuck and then they go back to being quiet and doing their job in peace unlike some of their fellow developers however...
Hopefully with how their releasing news and not talking too much the bad apples stay quiet for the sake of all of us. It's better that way.
And I hope these good people I listed remains that way and doesn't change for the worse. I'd feel saddened if they do. Hopefully the toxicity and bad influence from some of the unpleasant Devs doesn't rub off in the good ones.
@@bold9291 idk maybe it’s the fact it’s human nature. Also the back story I’ve heard from others that worked with them in the past. It’s toxic as it can get there. And seeing how Dondi hasn’t changed much I have a hard time believe he isn’t going out of his way to make the ‘good ones’ be nasty to their coworker. I just don’t trust that group as far as I can through them.

Honestly If another team of developers made an offer to buy the isle of the current dev team. That is if the next updates flops or not and, in my opinion, if it doesn't then why the hell do, they only do the minimum amount of work when things are not bad but when it's at the risk of killing the community, they work like their lives depended on it. I think the community would harass and bully the devs to give the isle to someone else. I'm not saying we should do that, or it will happen, but it might happen that is all.

Problem isn't only with dondi but also his hiring process. He seems to like hiring some people who have a similar personality to him, so even if he left, it still wouldn't be that good.

I was having a very civil discussion about austroraptor’s design and somewhat poor gameplay in legacy. Well dondi showed up and I ended up getting banned for “starting arguments”

I was banned for confronting dondi about the very first release of the new night vision in evrima. Basically long story short: Dondi said that no content creators were complaining about the nightvision so there was no reason for it to be changed. I responded stating basically the entire community didn't like the new night vision and it was causing seizures. He simply called "my take" dumb and banned me.
Looking back at it I find it funny because it was changed anyways LOL
Imagine being so out of touch that you think a couple of child content creators are the voice of your community and know better than the people with 2,000+ hours in your game..... Dondi is an idiot. This is why the game is broken, unbalanced and unfinished. He listens to children who couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag with a full grown Rex yet ignores the players with insane amounts of combat experience.

Literally built my channel off content of The Isle.
I managed not to get banned over it all (despite being told numerous times I would be), but I figured it's only bc they literally can't without it looking very, very, very bad on their part.
Though, they still haven't followed through with putting a photosensitive/epilepsy warning in the game like I was told they would, and I couldn't get any responses in regards to the "epilepsy mode" they added, as it seems to not have any actual function at all (I tried it myself). PunchPacket (the person I spoke with) was even active on the forum responded to other messages, so I know very well they were watching the blog and could have seen my messages. It's funny to me how they will add an (empty) feature for the issue on hand, but didn't actually put a warning into the game.
Yes. Let us NOT tell people they face these problems. Then give them a feature meant to help with said issue to give some form of assurance. Only for said feature to do literally nothing. And now those people are faced with medical responses because they trusted the (a) the feature does something and/or (b) that there's no risk of this at all.
I am ofc transparent in that I haven't had an actual seizure since they removed the original NV, but it caused some form of permanent damage. Before this all happened, I had just gotten my epilepsy under control with 250mg of an epilepsy medication, a good 100 mg more than what my dr was initially hoping would be enough. It was more or less completely controlled, and I was no longer experiencing visual auras that I would usually experience daily. Ever since this occurred? I've had auras again. Not as bad as they were before I got everything under control. But, still goes to show the harm this sort of thing can cause. N I was lucky. Had I not been on medication? It probably would have been significantly worse. I probably would have ended up in the hospital, and who knows what would have happened.
I haven't actually played the game again every since I tested the epilepsy mode and realized it doesn't do anything. Idk what it is about their graphics, but even during the day I still start having a photosensitive response and start to fill a little sick if I move around and play too much. I had to get a better GPU, so now I can't even play Legacy bc the stuttering of the shadows across the foliage gives me a bad response. (which isn't exactly their fault, obv. lol. Legacy is like that bc it's unfinished and broken/can't be updated)
I was told one of the devs was on stream mocking me/other players who were talking about the photosensitive/epileptic responses, though. Filip? I think is the name? Downplaying it, claiming they were lies or overreactions or something, etc.
Ty for speaking up about it yourself as well, I appreciate anyone who was trying to bring attention to it. Sorry to hear you got banned over it though, not that it's all that surprising.
I guarantee that isn’t what happened. It’s funny how you are never wrong and in every retelling of events where you get banned from something, you conveniently enough are never wrong and you hit banned fir absolutely no reason!

But uh, yeah. No. Everything is true. I have screenshots of my discussion with PunchPacket and I made numerous posts about it warning other users of the photosensitive/epileptic risks they now faced in Evrima.
Also replied to numerous blog posts asking a out the changes PunchPacket unformed me they'd be making, and made a petition for them to add the disclaimer/warning I was told they'd add after they still hadn't for months.
They still haven't added it to this day. Gotta love it. 🙄
As much as I had my 800 hours of fun on this stupid game, I really can't support a dev team that behaves in the manner this team behaves.
Makes it worse bc this is personal, given I actively had an epileptic response to their game that caused issues to rise again that had once been controlled by my medication.
They actively, medically harmed me; then downplayed it, and have still failed to follow through with the things I was told they would be doing.

Power goes to people's head easily. The comments that he threw at you, showed me how his character is. A person who has never even been on the discord, but simply watches CZcamsrs for updates on a game that I love. Which the devs do not give much in my opinion. My grandfather used to tell me “let the rotten people rot, by themselves and clean yourself after” this is a perfect situation , I got banned in 2022 because I thought bajadasaurus should replace magyarosaurus , Donnie sent me a gif with the same “who are you gif” and I replied to him “I am the individual who’s suggesting a better alternative to that magyarosaurus of yours “ and he replied well you don’t get to decide what happens “ even tho I was suggesting it with another person and he decided to intervene , next hour I was banned so , let him rot in his personal hellhole then

What I have seen them usually 1-2 person in the team have the similar temperament like Dondi but I do not know him just assuming he is a big child and an immature adult. It is not really new to me because I plays a lot of different games and at least in 20-30 gaming community i am involved some way and seen interesting or minimum questionable things.
I had a similar situation unfold. about a year ago i was muted by don for posting an audio clip. don just lurks and simply pokes the hive to get someone to react and gets rid of them. the best time period of islecord was when don was not actively in the discord.
I agree with that, because Dondi is essentially a bully, he has to poke, prod, and pick on somebody when he's not having a great day. I know this all too well since I chatted with him, Bryan, Levia back when she was on the dev team about 5 or 6 years ago and they had barely anything when they first released the game on Steam Early Access.
Imagine how the devs handle dondi when they need to discuss something important, no wonder why no updates.
Indeed, it can be hard to them to deal with but sadly you need to handle your employer one way or another to keep your job. Different people with different personalities, so you only can tolerate and go if the person is totally deaf to the critics and does not want to change.

I never involved in discord things because my experience with different platforms, forums and devs I learned that no matter how valuable feedback or critic you giving there will be a dev or another fan who tries to bash you down if they do not agree with it. The problem with online communities as overall is the anonimity can be deadly if frustrated people have some power and you have a bad day too.
I do not know any of the devs of the Isle personally and I only have maybe 1-2 contact within the game industry and mainly indie game devs but different personalities sees differently. Most people whom I met online says Dondi is a short tempered person and most people only tolerate because he was the founder / kickstarted and owner of the game. Surely, I do not know him personally but it is not really unheard that there are people whom handles critics so badly.
Even if you tried, you wouldn't be able to. People will constantly ignore you when you are trying to chat.
The fact that this game has been in early access and has went through 2 recodes/resets for 6-7 years absolutely blows my mind.
If you see this as grounds to leave The Isle as a whole, I'd be right behind you. I'll continue to support this channel. It does not matter how great the game is, if it's creator is nothing but corrupt and out to belittle those that support him then he does not deserve any higher respect

I have seen too many instances where someone even asks a simple, innocent and well meaning question, and Dondi personally goes out of his way to rip them a new one for no good reason. That dude is toxicity incarnate. He will not let an opportunity to berate and verbally assault an innocent bystander pass by. He is the ultimate entitled manchild, and all his lackeys act the same.

Yup they are all toxic including punchpacket. He tried to call me a liar on a livestream once when I told them there's a way to have multiple servers linked together acting as one giant server so we could have 300-500+ players per server. He got all butthurt about it
@@kenshinhimura9387 punch is a douchebag. He banned a couple friends of mine from official servers bc of some other people that were rule breaking and my friends just happened to be there. They pled their case and even had proof but he was not swayed. Just the way he talks in the discord too, when people have genuine questions or concerns, the malice in his responses is practically palpable. Even kissen has become toxic. She used to be the nicest one but now her replies take the same tone. No one is safe.
Your channel has made me to keep playing the isle from me just ownloading it once and playing it for 30 mins, to keeping up with the lastest news on when the next release for a tiny teaser of content. You invoke heavy critisism to push the isle in the right path without making the game fall apart or get boring. And its also the same for me because I love the way the isle makes dinosaurs feel real and alive with risk, reward, fear, and punishment (death). Things have to be said otherwise there will be no future for this survival video game.

I think it's very telling how everyone who has some kind of interaction with dondi it's always negative, and on top of that, it always leads to them getting banned from the discord for something incredibly minor. Finding someone who was in an "argument" with dondi and is still in the discord is like finding a shiny pokemon at this point. While this may not be fully intentional on your part I feel this video highlights how the broader community, ESPECIALLY the part in the discord, needs to find a way to hold dondi accountable when he acts out cause it's clear other members of his team won't do it (especially since some of them do similar shit). As if the situation with he-who-shall-not-be-named didn't show that already.
Dondi will ban you for leaving a negative review on steam. Or for giving constructive criticism of the game. You and all your friends will be perma banned

Seeing this is not suprising, the development team of the Isle has been caught in a whirlwind of various dramas throughout its entire existence, most of which stemming from Don himself. I absolutely think that if you would want to start making content on other paleo-games, or creature oriented games, or just other scifi/fantasy games in general, then I know I would be fully supportive of it, and I'm sure many, if not all of us would be to. We're here to support YOU and YOUR content, less so that what that content is based around

Sadly this is a common thing on most communities and devs. I have met alot of these types of people and simply you cannot question them or critize them to not makes something or just giving them good advices. Most people use the frustration as a key motivator to do something and usually they blame other people for various reasons. Devs usually using the frustration as an argument if you are not a game dev then your opinion is 1000 times less valuable. It is simply human behavior and most people cannot tolerate and very less who really aware of that and can change if something not goes well. Hard to go along with these kind of people and the only thing you can do is avoid all the places in real life and online aswell where they can appear and instead use a neutral place to discuss topics or ask a dev to use it too.
The real problem starts when you cannot avoid it because your boss is just like that or the coworkers. The devs only will consider to listen the 5-10% of what a discussion contains so basically no reason to go to any forums or platforms where you can tell the devs about their game. I know that is sucks if you have an idea and want to tell the devs to improve but a lot of people will just ignore it or plain attack you for an opinion.
He also attacks people for not “playing the game right” there are several videos showing him playing the game and killing players and insulting them calling them “fucking stupid” and “get better, learn how to play”. He also will use his dev abilities to jump on maps and search for ‘carebear’ players and troll them to ruin their time on the game. Ive seen this happen several times but Im pretty sure he did it to me and my friend once too. We were just goofing off having fun as a trex and trike. Not really killing people like that just hanging out playing the game. A message suddenly appeared on screen, something ominous like “Those who don’t respect nature must be punished” and a hypo carno hunted us down to kill us. We tried respawning several times but he can see our location and showed up always instantly. After that we honestly stopped playing the isle.
If you are worried about a situation like this tarnishing your reputation, you can rest easy knowing your audience aint going anywhere. Yeah the argument can be made that even one bad review can cause a downslope on media such as youtube, but its also common knowledge that the Islecord is a breeding ground for the worst kinds of players with no sense of intelligence or communication skills. Just an open invitation to receive snarky remarks about whatever you think or believe. Of course there are good people in there, but stereotypes exist for a reason, and the Isle and its discord is no exception to that either. Islecord has a long history of banning people for some really stupid reasons, and even though I havent been one of these, but i have seen the stories.
None the less, im sure there are others out there like me who watch your videos, and will continue to watch them just as if nothing happened. Cause really, beef in this community is a given considering the horrendous state of the game at the moment. No ones happy and theres a damn good reason for that. As for the "oompa loompas" that are spreading misinformation, pay no attention to their stupidity, as you have the proof of your claim and supporters to back you up. Youll be alright.

Myself and literally all of my friends have been permanently banned from the isle discord for very mildly criticizing the game.
Sidalpha (CZcamsr) did a whole video on Dondi’s history. Honestly Dondi has no purpose other then to try and destroy other people’s life’s. That is his passion….that was something he posted in the past

I had a personal experience with him a couple years ago, and it was one of the deciding factors why I stopped making content for The Isle. Some of the devs including Dondi would invite the content creators to play some games with them. I didn't know he had a rule that once in the game, Discord needed to be muted and we could only use the game voice (why, I don't know). In one game that I downloaded just to play, I forgot to mute myself on Discord. He proceeded to scream obscenities at me for talking on Discord, even after I apologized because I was new and didn't know this rule. It wasn't just that, he also yelled at other people that might have made a mistake in game. Needless to say, I never went back to any of those events. At the time, I was the original community manager for Noobz and that alone was overwhelming. I didn't have a chance to actually enjoy and play the game anymore. Burnt out from that coupled with that behavior made me question why I devoted so much time to something I couldn't enjoy. I resigned from Noobz, and stopped making content for the game.
Now, however, I'm at a bit of a crossroads. Some of the original staff asked if I'd help start up a newer community which has other games but includes The Isle. I was hesitant, but accepted. I hadn't played the game in a couple years, but was happy to see it made some real progress. The original videos I made for the game are still by far the most popular, but do I continue that? If I do, it's going to be hard to do that and not have to be active on their Discord.

I’ve stopped supporting The Isle a long time ago. Dondi has also treated certain other dinosaur content creators terribly. Dondi also has previously hired a predator to work within the game, and that was the final straw for me. Anyone that still supports this game is most likely unaware, so thank you for sharing the truth about these developers.

Eh, PoT has its own fair share of problems.
Chief among them being it seeming to follow in TI’s footsteps in terms of roster bloat, and a notorious child groomer lurking around, and the devs doing jack shit about it.
Look up ShiftyVee and Orni’s videos on both respective subjects.
But what I can say, is that at least the other two games of the “Big 3” are doing much better than TI

Deathlyrage was the dev and a lot of die hard isle fans still fully believe deathly "ruined" legacy's code so they "couldn't" continue working on it when that wasn't the case, that's just what dondi said. It was dondis lack of planning and how he had legacy developed that ruined it. Deathly can be abrasive at times but nothing like dondi, I even feel bad for him as dondi had him move from Australia to the US to then fire him over something none work related. Then when deathly started his own game with other ex isle devs dondi tried to sabotage it by scaring dino youtubers. If they played deathlys game they would be barred from certain aspects of the isle such as hypos which at the time were being given out to youtubers and streamers. Dondi is a terrible person, supported a predator wholeheartedly, generally toxic and admits to poaching devs from other games so they get nowhere.

@@tenshi.kurama There hasn't been a point where Dondi hasn't done poor planning. It isn't Deathlys fault Dondi didn't take time to have other devs learn the code. And despite them saying all of evrima is new coding there's one incident so far where it doesn't fully seem the case. Dryo ended up becoming an emp like it did in legacy days. Dryo in legacy at one point if it attacked caused servers to crash and the same thing happened recently on Evrima, it was the exact same bug which is hard to accidentally do.
I've seen pesky get dealt with in a similar way, as well as a few other content creators, and this has slightly solidified my belief that something isn't right with the isle. Thanks for addressing your experience.

Pesky had a different opinion than one of the devs, and he got banned from the Discord. He also was denied early access to Evrima. it really pains me to see someone who obviously cares about about a game so much be harassed and outcast by the games owner you are doing what you can to try and improve a game and yet this is how they treat you. you have my full support and am already enjoying your content.
This was painful to hear, especially as a fairly new, fellow isle CZcamsr. After seeing my first video get over 100k views I’m motivated to make more, but it’s incidents like these that make me wonder what kind of community I’m entering. As I’ve played I’ve met many great people and made friends, but seemingly an equal amount of the toxic or the straight up mean spirited. And it especially hurts to see that many of the devs are no different. I really REALLY want to believe in this game and the huge potential it has to be what is in my opinion, the perfect dinosaur game. But my confidence wanes the more of these instances come about, as well as the painfully slow development, even if much of that is understandable. I hope a lot of us can simply be a lil more compassionate

It is because of how Dondi and a vast majority of the community on there, being toxic is why I have not been active on that Discord Server in a few years but I love the game. I love the game Dondi and his team are making but that does not mean that I like half of his team and moderators. I empathize with what has happened to you X Zaguer because I have seen it happen before and I have almost had that happen to me on that very server.
I'm not a isle player but I can already see the dino player getting "tamed" by a tribal person will really tick a lot of people off.
Don't you worry a bit about your reputation, people who know your content know what a logical and respectably-minded person you are won't let one bad event, the type of which has unfortunately been seen over and over again the Isle community, detract from what you stand for. I think this really stems to a larger social issue, which is that most people are actually logical and steady-minded like you, and are just here to play a dinosaur simulator game with friends. Essentially most people are normal, but the issue is that it's all the people who are looking to pick fights and prove their own points that we hear because they're making all the commotion. Keep up what your doing, I think I can speak for plenty others when I say that we enjoy seeing criticism of games in the manner you do it (respectful and constructive criticism, that is), and to lose a voice of reason in this community would be a great loss indeed.

If you are looking for a Dino game to cover I recommend Path of Titans. Being developed, from what I understand, the Coder that Dondi let go which caused them to rebuild the already unfinished game. Unsure about this part but I heard that he was told that if he thought he could make a better dino game he should make his own... so he is
Path of titans is so much better. Only one thing I can't wait for path of titans to release is grab mechanic so you can drown prey as a croc. 😂
That and BOB is probably my favorite but BOB can be even more toxic in community than the isle through reports. It's ridiculous. I do find it the most fun dino game though but Path of Titans is still awesome.
He already has made a few videos based around PoT. And has communicated with the devs there before with these style videos.
The devs seem to take criticism like children idk why but even the lightest criticism said to them can result in a discord ban and being insulted by them. This has been done to me (being insulted by the devs but not for criticism just for asking a question that they have heard to many times) and I think they need to change.
This is the exact same thing he did with me when I got banned. I pointed out he was spreading misinformation with a game on twitter and when I show up in the discord having a normal conversation he antagonized me and then I was banned. My responses being pretty calm even.
He's also cancelled a commission I had with Baardse (before I was banned) because he didn't like what was being made. There was a clear distinction in the email I received between "general distaste" before "confusion with brand". The latter of which I do not believe.
I'm sorry this happened to you man. In my opinion, I think you are one of the new titan of the isle youtubers who are taking over where youtubers like thegamingbeaver and anthomnia left off (I know they both make the isle content still but beaver doesn't do it as much and I think anth isn't as good as he used to be). I haven't played the isle but you are one of the few isle youtubers I consistently watch. I enjoy your content a lot and I really hope you get the fame you deserve man.

This video rang very true to me as I’ve also been banned for a similar situation. Minding my own business when Saoul began deleting my messages and antagonizing me. And you’re right, dondi hasn’t not will ever change. He has too much hate in his heart. Honestly I don’t think it’s worth your time trying to build a channel with the isle being at the forefront. The game can’t go on forever like this.
I don't care for any drama, but I understand how it can affect your channel and reputation.

Why am I not surprised by The Isle Devs
Sad to say this has always been a trend of the isle team going after their own content creators for deserved critiques. As a COMPANY it is their job to be mature and it’s a very simple expectation that Dondi never has or will ever meet

I'm only five minutes into the video so far, but I can say that at the very least everyone has the right to defend their name against alleged slander, so I think you are doing the right thing by posting this video. Secondly, I know The Isle's development has been riddled with a history of drama stemming from Dondi's narcissistic personality so from the get-go I'm inclined to believe his victims over him. I have not touched The Isle in years and I don't ever plan to again because of Dondi's reputation. I know I can't be the only one who feels that way.

This isn’t surprising. Dondi and his team has done this MULTIPLE times throughout the years. Anyone who’s watched the the game’s development and the drama throughout the years would see that. There’s a reason why specific creators who solely rely on their game for content kiss their ass to receive special favors such as exclusive content. You literally have to walk on eggshells when discussing the game. The team and their fans are the main reason why I’m not in the discord. The isle could be the biggest Dino game in the market PERIOD, but the fact I was in middle school when this game started and now I’m almost done with my first year of college…If he didn’t like your critique he could’ve simply gotten off the channel. But he had to enforce his imaginary authority and his yes men enable that behavior

And this is why Path of Titans is gaining traction and also gaining The Isle players, better community, not strictly to 1 platform, mods and community servers are allowed, the developers care and they try to meet the needs of the players. It's simple, although The Isle pretty much created the Dinosaur open world Survival, but Path of Titans proves how it SHOULD be. That's my take, feel free to have an opinion

I'm of the opinion it's been almost a freaking decade and I want to know where the hell is all the things they've promised us gone. The fact they had to start over doesn't excuses them from my criticisms, you've wasted 8 years working on this game and it no where near completion. This game should be at least in the final steps of development but instead Donnie and Co are still at square one, the fact is Donnie doesn't anything to show for besides the bare basics . Yeah, The Isle has a LONG history of being toxic to a number of people… with Dondi usually being the prime offender. Frankly I’m surprised he and the team haven’t been sued for their horrible behavior, though I’m sure it will happen to them at some point if nothing changes.

I'm absolutely disguisted that someone has the audacity to behave like this in the position of an owner for such a large game. I'm currently going through a very similiar situation, and i've wanted to make a video about it for a good while. Thank you for sharing your experience and most importantly, telling people your side of the story, and defending yourself. People should be aware that this kind of behaviour, and dare i say even abuse, should not be kept hidden under the rug.

All the content creators I love are the ones supporting the game, wanting it to be great and successful, and yet, all of them had some confrontation with the devs, so don't worry, you are not alone. All of those creators survived this minor inconvenience.
To anybody who wants to find good content creators about the isle: go check who was muted/banned from discord. At least half of those guys are friendly people with good content.
