- Today I look at the new DC Comics Icons 6" scale Darkseid & Grail Deluxe figure 2-pack from DC Collectibles. This set features a Darkseid figure that stands over 12" tall and Grail from the Darkseid War storyline. Darkseid comes with an extra set of hands while Grail comes with 3 pairs of hands, shawl and scythe.

I'm really pleased to see how they're improving this line. The thigh swivel was very needed. All the articulation and unique sculpting is really making Icons have a lot of value among the 6 inch scale.

The head on grail would make a great custom sombra (from overwatch)action figure
I was looking for a comparison between both Darkseid figures and I finally found one, cheers.
with the upper-thy articulation on darkseid, and the cut on grail, as well as slightly improved head movement, I wonder if they'll start adding that more next year, they're the only thing holding the line back atm imo
all we need now is a anti monitor with the black racers

Fantastic review as always!!! I think they did a great job on this set. The figures look incredible and I'd love to have it. However the cost is way to high in my opinion. Maybe if there were more accessories but as is I'd say it's worth $60 or $70 tops.

So they added more articulation and scaled the figures up a bit in size, plus most icons have individually sculpted parts. Icons are coming for Marvel Legends

I noticed that too, I got excited when I saw the thigh cuts. Hope it sticks around, it would really do a lot for the articulation.
Now all we need is the new rebirth superman figure coming with the new justice league wave.
Hey, on my Grail figure the right bicep fell off of the shoulder. I can pop it back but it eventually falls from being too loose. Any recommendations to fixing this?

Both are good figures but the New 52 is probably going to be harder to find since its been out a long time and you get the 6" figure with the Icons one so I would say go with that one.

I have a dc icons 2 pack superman vs doomsday I think darksied is bigger compare to doomsday in a toy but in real life it’s the same height

Did I just hear someone say, "thigh" swivel? FINALLY! DC steps up their game. I love how they gave Darkseid a thigh swivel buy took away his bicep swivel. But it's fine, it's not like it'd work anyway.
Damn, the lack of bicep swivel kills this figure for me 😭😭
My comic shop didn't get this in today, however, maybe I won't get him after all. The lack of a bicep swivel means I can't pose him into a conquest thinker pose with his hands behind his back, so that sucks. Maybe DCC will do a classic Darkseid sometime soon...

I wish they would've gone for the classic Darkseid look for the Icons line. He's one character that never needed to be redesigned... but they did it anyway.

A hundred dollars for this? I'm pretty sure that's too high of a price, I'll just pass. With the amount of accessories that we get, it should only be around 50 or 60 dollars at most. If this came with omega beam accessories and a base then I would even consider 80 dollars, maybe. But this is definitely not worth a hundred dollars. Not even close.
Agreed. I was so excited for this but after this review and hearing about the QC issues people are having, I canceled my preorder. Hopefully DCC will give us a classic normal sized Darkseid next year (assuming this line lasts that long given all of the delays and crap).
