No biceps swivel on Darkseid is really a let down, you cannot even get him into his iconic hands-behind-back pose.
That darkseid looks like a great base for an apocalypse customs. Just add a bicep swivel

Though I'm sure others have and will say it, Grail is Darkseid's and an Amazon's daughter, born at very nearly the same time as Wonder Woman. She is working for the Anti-Monitor (who is revealed to be Mobius, the original owner of Metron's chair) to kill her father.
How the hell did Darkseid get in on with an amazon is whats the real question.. Grail is the size on his leg!

I love this DC icons set! I have my Darkseid on my shelf in a cool pose where he is holding my DC Icons Mr. miracle in his open hand, then I have Grail down below them with her axe to Green Lantern's neck. A really badass setup!

I go back and forth on the torso joints with Icons. I really like the idea on paper, but in practice it never quite seems to get there and that might be just because of what I'm use to with ML. I really like the crunch being low as possible but I cant imagine that's easy to combine with a waist swivel on a budget domestic figure. Still, I'm really liking how the Icons line is developing, a little upscaling and added/improved articulation. I'm glad I passed on the early stuff but I'm starting to grab things now.
Grail is Darkseid's daughter. And Darkseid is practically in scale, he is supposed to be a huge guy. This is his second version by DC Collectibles.

Grail is cool but I had no idea Darksied was that huge. I saw the early prototype pic last year of him and he seems bigger.

I really hope and wish that Todd McFarlane would make a DC MULTIVERSE 7 inch action figure out of Grail the daughter of Darkseid. Todd can her look exactly like the 6" Grail that's being seen there on the video. The exact same accessories that she comes with in the video. But as a DC MULTIVERSE 7 inch action figure by McFarlane Toys. I think that'll be pretty cool. Because Todd already recently made a DC Classic Darkseid Mega Fig from McFarlane Toys. So all he needs to do is make a Grail figure as well.
That female character is one of the best US figures I've seen in a while in the "reasonable price" range; it reminded me slightly of a couple of medicos' SAS (JoJo line has had a couple of fimale figures) regarding sculpt, articulation and the use of soft plastic. Hopefully the line keeps getting better 'cause I'd be interested in getting a couple of DC characters if they continue like this.

I hope we get to see Grail more often in the DC comics,she was cool in Darkseid War.

This is an awesome 2 pack. And subscribe. The videos are so worth it if your an avid collector like me that doesnt get a lot of DC Icons or specialty figures at my stores. This helps me to NOT have to order blind. I get not only a look at the figure but also the articulation. Anthony's Customs does a great job with this and always has the newest and most straight up review. Also Darkseid looks amazing. Love the size difference. Haven't seen a villian that huge since Toy Biz Galactus or Apocalypse. Would love to get him and have a giant DC villian. The figure set it pricey. Close to $100 if I'm not mistaken. But it looks to be worth it. Just got my SH Figuart Phasma and Luke Ep.IV is on the way. Cant wait. Great work and KEEP COLLECTING.

I hope I'm not asking a question you have already answered, but are you finished with Play Arts Kai figures? They began doing a lot of Final Fantasy figures, and aesthetically [from photos] they look amazing! I got Gabranth [12] today and I preordered Squall, Cloud, Sephiroth and Barret. [Still need a legitimate Zidane figure :'( ]

This is new 52 darkseid so he is supposed to be that huge, the scale is nearly perfect for that version
That also doesn't mean they can't release a more classic darkseid that is smaller

To clear up the confusion. He is actually suppose to be that big. Anyone who has read the Darkseid War that had Darkseid vs. the Anti Monitor know this is how big he was.
How to make Darkside appear even stronger? Make him bigger.

Is the cape on Grail soft material? Does it limit the articulation on the hands?
It's a soft plastic cape it doesn't limit any articulation much.
I have this set and it's OK IMO. I would probably be happier with it if the price point was lower.
that's true of most things, but the price is reflective of the fact that it comes with giant darkseid. consider youre paying at least 20 for grail. that means the giant darkseid is only 60. not too bad compared to past dcc big guys.

Good review dude.. Do you ever show the box or pricing? Kinda looks like youll be getting a huge box in the mail if you order something like this.. Maybe some cool artwork too.. This looks like a really cool set.. Not into collecting DC figures but very nice combo..
i do when the box is meant to be kept or is especially nice. this box is just a big white box with a window on the front. and with both figures. there was no room for it.

You can also just look it up on google aswell it just looks like all Dc Icon Boxes just slighter bigger. The color on it is blue or purple and just have the omega symbol on top of it and back shows the photo of the figures and the other deluxe pack being Batgirl.

This GRAIL figure is better than any female Marvel Legends figure... mostly because of articulation

icons have to be one of the worst toy lines i have seen the batman i have just snaps apart with the slightest pressure or when you try to move it and the same esact thing happened to the replacement. so far every dc icons figure i have gotten is a waste of money as they are expremely brittle. hopefully dc can up their game

I'm sorry to say that while the sculpt and articulation is great , the costume is just ugly and tacky. From the yellow to the pink belt buckle, this just looks like a costume that you would see in a art instruction book on how to create comic characters.
