I really regret missing out on this set. Now, when you try to find it, people are asking absolutely ridiculous prices for it. *sigh* There are times when I regret ever getting into action figure collecting.
They're stupid to cancel this line... they look way better than "Essentials".
IDK if they look better, but it is disappointing for those who invested in the line to have to start over in a completely different scale. However if the sales weren't there you can't really blame a company for going a different route.
I feel like DCC is trying to find the magic recipe and I'm wondering if their sales expectations are realistic. I thought they did a good job in terms of overall quality with Icons, they are a lot nicer than many of my other DCC figures. The Essentials I've seen have weird proportions.

I’m just waiting for a 90’s-early 2000’s style Robin (Tim Drake) figure too finally be made. Hopefully they make one sometime in the “essentials” line.

That Superboy face is horrifying. Oh well, no point in worrying about it. A shame there is finally a Damien figure that doesn't suck and it is from a canned line.

Robin is my favorite of the two.
for me, fave outfit for connor kent superboy is his jeans and t-shirt, mostly due to my love of young justice. this does look like a great set. been wanting a decent damian wayne figure. wish he came with a katana, will have to see if he can hold a katana from a marvel legend. starting to like jon kent, so i cool with him getting a figure
If you have the 7" version then I believe that one had a sword that would work well with this figure.

I really wish they would sell these separately because I only want robin and don't want to have to pay $50 plus to get it. I rather it have been a double pack with the night wing figure but I understand why they went this route and how it makes more sense.
Yeah it would be hard to release a smaller scale figure like this on it's own, but I know a lot of Robin fans would like to get this one and maybe not Superboy.

Yeah.. The person that sculpted these clearly couldn't do boy faces, Superboy(10 yrs old) looks like he's 17-22 and even Damian(13 yrs old) looks 16+

Another good review, Jay. I like the way these Icon figures work. I just don't trust the quality. Back in the day, I bought plenty of DC collectible figures and they just didn't stand up to the test of time.
Quality really is no better or worse than any other small company IMO. Whether it be NECA, DC, DST ext ect. I've had issues with some of the figures for each of those companies in the past but overall if you like the figure I would say go for it. Most even if you have a problem have descent customer service and if you contact them will take care of the problem for you. No granted if you want them to last over time you have to care for them. If you throw them in a bin where they get jumbled around with other figures they are less likely to remain intact. I speak from experience.
Thanks for advice, Jay. If I find it out in the wild, I'll pick them up. I mean, with so many positive waves, how can I go wrong?

I think that is the plan with the Essentials line.
So it's been confirmed that we're not getting anymore Icons after this year?
Confirmed as much as possible. They said they are going to be focusing on Essentials for next year and want to see how those are received by retailers and consumers before making any final decisions on Icons, which is their way of saying they are done with Icons but if things don't go well with Essentials then maybe they will re-evaluate. Nothing is ever 100% done with them as they could at some point take another crack at any of these lines, but if Icons had been successful for them we wouldn't be seeing them switch to Essentials.

I really like Icons figures, more than the designer series. I'm sad now.
I will miss Icons, but I think the Essentials line coming next year has a lot of potential.
