We are actually caught all the way up on PATREON
Plz 7 8 😢
You are very wrong about Corlys house not having respect they are the Richest family and very high esteem.
Right they remember when the Targaryens weren’t all that. before they came up.😂
Alicent has the maternal instincts of a hamster.
Yep that's why all her kids talked out crazy
ya Rhaenyra has much "strong"er maternal instincts
Oldest version Rhanerya (emma dracy ) is the orginal cast. Then creators search for the child artist. Mili has same facecut of emma. So they cast mili
Both do a good job, but in my opinion young Rhaenerya is a better actress and comes off as more likeable, would almost seem that it was the opposite no matter the reasoning they stated. The more time that passes it is easier to accept, but when I saw the actress change as a surprise I was utterly shocked how they could replace such an amazing actress. But when you come to terms with it, it makes sense with regards on timeshifts in the show.
@@nyztan0disagree I can’t stand her smug face and she mostly annoyed me, gave me a try-hard heir to the throne act. Emma feels more well rounded as an actress and I think her Rhanerya is powerful in a subtle way
I felt like the first Rhaenyra tried to be too much like Dany too while Emma is her own person/character
I don't really understand why they had to recast when they don't even bother aging Criston Cole (even into Season 2). Like c'mon, use the powers of makeup and shit. Paddy Consadine is like 42 in real life and they made him look like the crypt keeper, you mean to tell me they can't get Emma D'Arcy to look like a teenager? D'arcy is 5'7" 115 pounds - teenage-girl thin.
What’s a “facecut”?
Otto wanted to control the realm essentially by controlling viserys. But daemon saw through it, he was a threat to Otto’s power that’s why Otto tried to keep daemon away. Daemon didn’t help it either but daemon just wants the best for house targaryan and that did not align with Otto
Otto is not wrong for thinking Daemon is bad for the realm and shouldn’t be trusted near the council just as much as Daemon is not wrong that Otto is trying to manipulate his brother. Otto at this point is serving his 3rd king, I don’t think is unfair for him to feel he needs his legacy there somewhat after successfully helping keep the realm in peace for all these decades
Take off your rose-colored Daemon fan glasses and wake up from your dream world. You argue like a teenager in love.
Daemon is a fucking savage, intemperate. He would have made a terrible king. But it is not like Westeros has had great kings. The fresh reminder of Jaehyrys (kind, decisive, temperate, just) and Maegor (rash, savage, unjust, intemperate) isn't helping Daemon's case.
But make no mistake, Daemon was 100000% right about Otto. The moment dude encourage his daughter to go to the King, I saw his play.
Even Viserys said Otto tried to get Daemon away from the council. Viserys was an easily swayed King. Otto felt threatened by demon's presence.
@LeisureKingLou-jc2re
@@LeisureKingLou-jc2reOtto was bad for the realm too lmao, what are you talking about. He would rather be wrong and have war than not.
rhanys reaction wasn’t fake lol she absolutely adores viserys. & all the targs aren’t dead because of dany what?!😭
No they meant they’re all dead except for Dany
@@randycrawford1132 okay that makes sense cause i was like what😭
Otto dress green because its the color of his house.
Alicent left the red and black color, which is house Targaryen color, to use green. Which is not only her house color and a statement of calling her banners to war. In real, Alicent was showing her loyalty to House Hightower, and sending a message to her banners to get ready for war, that she will open against the targaryens. Similar to what Margaery did with rose sigil draw in season 6...
Both of you read the Bronze B scene right. She was talking about Daemon not being able to finish in the bedroom. As he walked away, leaving her paralyzed on the ground, she called him "craven", which means coward here. In GOT, lots of people liked to call Sam craven.
As intense as the birth scenes are, I love that HOTD does not shy away from the battles women face. They show so much violence, war and torture in this show often perpetuated and received by men. Showing natural birthing in all its horror and glory is such a strong and honest move, and important to see. LOVIN it as always. I am picking up on so much more now on my second watch.
Agreed! The audience seems to really get into the battles between men, but show them a woman's battlefield, they get all squicked out.
I don’t understand why Otto is so worried about war. When the only war that will come if Viserys dies is the war started by the Hightowers trying to cling to power. Because the only other who could challenge her would be Daemon and I don’t see that happening. Especially since Rhaenyra and Daemon have such a connection.
I think people see Otto as this honorable man but I see him as a the Little Finger of this story. Plotting and scheming always and sowing seeds to transpire future events that will give him and his house the power of the Throne.
Exactly people would have made jokes but nobody would have gone to war over a girl heir. She wouldn't have even killed alicent's kids.
I think it is a lot more complicated than that. We have a woman heir that is unheard of and the reason Rhaenys was skipped. Jaeharys knew it would cause war. Viserys knew it would cause war when he told Rhaenrya she had to marry Leanor to help legitimize her claim and she needed to start working on allies. Rhaenyra did not, she chose pleasure and fun over politics and duty, so she found herself with very few allies when it mattered. While this is a fictional world, it is based on true history. Game of Thrones was based heavily on War of the Roses with some Hundred Years War thrown in... Rhaenyra is based on Empress Matilda. Throughout history, anyone that could be a competitor or challenge to the throne were executed, imprisoned, or exiled. Aegon, as the oldest male, would definitely be a challenger to the throne, even if he didnt choose to be. People would use his name for their own ambitions.
A wise man once said : "Ladies falls off their horses and snap their pretty necks all the time"
#bronn
I don't think Lyonel Strong had anything to do with Rhaenyra hooking up with his son Harwyn. Harwyn recognizes Rhaenyra on the street in episode 4 and lets her go, and then pulls her out of the brawl at the pre-wedding party in ep 5. Now Lyonel did indicate to Harwyn that he should protect the princess but thats a pretty reasonable request for the hand to make of his famously huge and strong son. I suppose it might have been a super 5-dimensional chess move but based on everything else we saw of Lyonel's character I think Rhaenyra just has a thing for dark haired men in uniform.
And he was enthralled by her, remember her coming back from the hunt all bloody. My man was in love 😍
@@L.L.Cool.T Agreed - he was absolutely impressed with her in that moment. A very "Now *that's* my princess" moment.
@@L.L.Cool.T And I always thought I`m the only one who loves this scenes.
I don’t think I’ve ever loved the music intro to any other show the way I do for the GOT universe. I never get tired of listening to it. The music for each family is fantastic as well. Hats off to the composer or composers because they do an amazing job.
Rheynera was named the heir to the Iron Throne and her father never changed his mind about that. People keep mentioning that her children are bastards - I can understand that being a problem regarding being heirs to Driftmark because they are not true Valyrians. All her children though are hers therefore they have Targaryen blood and she is the rightful heir. In fact, she is the heir only because Otto forced him into naming her once Viserys wife and baby son died (that was Otto's idea - to keep Daemon off of the throne). Otto knew that he was sneaking his daughter in to be the next queen in hopes of giving Viserys a son - so why did he bother to name Rheynera - only to steal it back from her later? Otto caused this whole problem.
Also, the plan Viserys had with Corlys and Rhaenys was that when Rheynera and Lenore got married, the child would have the last name Valyrian, but when they ascended to the throne, their name would revert back to Targaryen. Her sons don't have to be Lenore's sons they were always hers and that made them Targaryens and heirs regardless. Since they don't need to have Lenore's last name to be king, they don't need him to be their father either, at least not regarding the Iron Throne.
This war is the fault of the Greens (Hightower's) because it was Otto's scheming, that got them all here in the first place. It was great to see it all fall apart for Otto because he thought he was being so clever in his personal power grab. Otto would have put Aegon on the Throne even without Alicent's misunderstanding - the council had been planning it for weeks before he died. Otto just used Alicent's misunderstanding to get her in line because she would have been the biggest obstacle. But, Otto's conversation with Aegon proved that he knew Viserys never changed his mind "Is that what you think?" Otto is the true usurper of the Iron Throne.
Exactly!!! Viserys decided he wanted Rhaenyra like who TF cares how Alicent feels? I hate that people side with Alicent just because she plays the victim. Yawn
Rhaneyra is spoilt and should have been disinherited for all the things she's done. Don't think Team Black fans quite realise how insulting what she's doing is. Fucking Daemon and lying about it is bad enough, but to then go and have literal bastards with a knight of the kingsguard and lying about who the father is. Its a huge insult to the Velaryons, the crown's biggest ally mind you; not only lying about who their father is but then to wipe out their entire male bloodline by killing Vaemond and (Laenor).
Their only blood are two girls now, both of whom are dragonriders and could die at any second in the war. At the very least she had the decency to save the bloodline by sending Rhaena away but even that was to protect her own sons, not Rhaena(the Velaryon bloodbline).
@@remyrimmm3123 Corlys and his wife both knew that Laenor was gay. The offer for them to marry, I believe, helped to "try" to cover that up from the rest of the realm. He needed a beard. Leanor isn't dead they faked his death so that he could leave and stop being & feeling trapped - he wanted to live his own life. Leanor agreed to this arrangement from the very beginning. They also said that they tried to have children together for a while but it just didn't happen for them. So she found other means to keep the farce going. She also isn't sleeping around, all of her first 3 children had the same father - she loved him. This was a consensual arrangement for them both. And the Valerian bloodline still runs through Baela and Rhena it isn't lost. She also would not have slept with Ser Criston had Daemon not advised her that she could do what she liked. He also plotted her escape route and got her all excited taking her to a brothel and then left her there. She wasn't looking at Ser Criston like that at all until that night. So Daemon the Adult should be blamed for that and yet somehow no one seems to mention that about Dameon without that note she was going to sleep with Cole outside her door like every other night without giving him a second glance. IJS.
@@believeume122 Yes, especially since she first started the deception by not telling Rheynera that she was going to the King's chamber (wearing her dead mother's clothes) even before the King asked her to keep it a secret - she didn't tell Rheynera. Where was all the best friends I can tell you the truth about anything vibe then? She lied to Rheynera by sin of omission (keeping secrets from Rheynera) but she was angry that Rhaynera kept a secret from her? The double standard is crazy.
The more I watch back and think about it, Otto was wise to see Daemon for the danger he could be and see and believe that he would not be a good King. Yes, he pushed Alicent in as Queen and has his own ambition, but he is trying to keep peace and keep the people from becoming restless about the heir to the throne.
The king knows that he put his daughter in an impossible position: she must have heirs because of the prophesy he shared only with her, yet he married her to a man who can’t give her children. In the real world, legitimacy of royal heirs is never proven; it’s just assumed. In this world, the boys’ dark hair makes it obvious , so Rhaenyra’s real “sin” is not finding a lover who looks like her husband.
He's not infertile, what are you on about
I loved the way you put it 34:30 'Rats feeding off the tragedy' that sums up this story
Paddy, with a "d" is actually an Irish thang... for the record.
The scene in which Daemon killed his wife was filmed in the same dell where Westley and Buttercup rolled on the hill in The Princess Bride.
Fun fact! At the Small Council they were discussing Lord Grover Tully of Riverrun, ancestor of Catelyn, Edmure, and the Blackfish. Lord Grover's grandson is named Elmo, and Elmo's sons are Oscar and Kermit. These were George R.R. Martin's tribute to Jim Henson and his Muppets.
Daemon is not working against the King's interests, he's just turning his back on it all and walking away.
Just to help you out with names.
Rhaenyra's 3 boys, oldest to youngest are Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey.
Alicent's oldest to youngest, Aegon, Helena, Aemond, and Daeron, who is in Old Towne, the seat of House Hightower. They speak of him, but so far we haven't seen him. He rides a dragon named Tessarion.
Lord Lionel did not set Harwin up with Rhaenyra. Ser Otto did pimp Alicent out to Viserys.
Alicent got jealous of Rhaenyra because Rhaenyra had more liberties and freedom than she, but it should be expected a princess would have greater privilege and entitlement.
Looks like they need to hire more rat catchers for the Red Keep.
Now you've been introduced to someone who makes Varys and Little Finger look like rookies. Larys is a vile, evil person. He has no problem being a kinslayer, he's not afraid to get his hands dirty to get what he wants. Larys has a clubfoot which is why he hobbles along with a cane.
The horse was startled by the scent of dragon, when Daemon was waving his hand. Subtle enough to bypass blame, but Daemon knew what he was doing
“Her plain-featured sons” …. Alicent you dropped the BALL! They grew up to be ATTRACTIVE! 😂😂😂 she was crazy!
@TheOctobersReact You forget Allicent went behind Rhaenyra’s back her best friend to seduce her grieving father. And then choose behavior that she knew would lead to war and treason all because she was mad Rhaenyra lied about not being a virgin.
All because Rhaenyra isn’t a weak woman who choose to follow her father’s every order and sleep with every old man her father wishes she feels betrayed? I just don’t get it.
I understand feeling lied to maybe but going as far as wearing the symbol for going to war to Rhaenyra’s wedding? Or is it that she is mad that Viserys caught on to her father’s motives and wasn’t having it any more. Yes Otto’s motives fell in line perfectly but isn’t it funny how things always just seem to fall in line perfectly for him.
Alicent is bitter also because rhaenyra slept with sir Criston who alicent had a crush on 💀😂
It seems you guys are confused, that horse broke her back because of daemon, it wasn't an accident, he plotted to kill her which is why she was trying to draw her bow.
The show makes it uncertain on purpose. It happens with many characters and events throught this show, like when Otto reports that Daemon said "The heir for a day", but we never got the confirmation. Personally i think yes daemon is guilty of all that
@@GustavoCardoso95well the stories of which this show is based on is based on a game of telephone and the biases of the maesters telling the tales.
@@EchanteDante people online seem to forget this so much, even the books are not a definitive factual version of what happened
They do it open ended because the book doesn't give a clear answer, but different accounts 100 years in the future.
Didn't grrm say that the show portrays events as they actually happened? So what we see is the truth
Cole should at least be sent to the wall after killing a wedding guest
and harming the king consort!!!!!!
Yeah, they let that go way too easily. Especially with how they shipped Strong away for just a little scrap in the yard.
Jamie Lannister killed the king he was sworn to protect and still kept his job.
All Cole has to say is Joffrey pulled a knife and he was protecting Rhaenrya.
In the books, it makes more sense. Cole kills Joffrey during a tournament.
Damn, another one? You guys are killing it.
Corlys and Rhyneas are the best couple in this series. Love them. They are the best!
Viserys said Rhaenyra is his heir and he's not changing that. Alicent is walking around bitter but she's the Queen. Get the f over it. Such a hard life
This is what I love about this show. I end up picking a side, but both Rhaenyra and Allicent are SO sympathetic. They're both stifled by expectations and duty, but through a combination of personality differences and environmental/relationship factors, they went in two completely different directions with that. Allicent kept her head down and did her duty, and Rhaenyra found a way to do her duty but also find her joy. I think both of those courses of action are understandable, but Rhaenyra resents Allicent for marrying her dad and mothering her potential rivals for the throne, and Allicent resents Rhaenyra for getting to skirt the rules and do as she pleases in a way that Allicent can't. I can't really hate either of them, they're both in unenviable positions.
By thinking Criston is Rhaenyra's paramour, as in side piece, Joffrey thought Criston was "just like them", as in more open minded to a libertine lifestyle. Joffrey didn't know Criston walked away the moment he realized Rhaenyra had no intention to marry him. Criston was literally asking for a death sentence for himself. What is he gonna do to someone who approached him & said "I know about your little secret"? The wedding death is so beautifully shot & Criston's slow unravelling is so well tied in to the overarching theme of the two women under medieval patriarchy that it's def far better than another jousting death woulda been. People complain about Cole not being punished for killing a highborn. But punishing a Kingsguard ultimately comes down to the King regardless of guest rites or how high ranked the victim was. Just cause a similar incident didn't happen in ASOIAF, doesn't mean the authority to dish out the punishment suddenly changes hands. All it actually takes for Criston to live is Viserys' mercy, regardless of the nature of the crime. If Viserys refuses to punish there's not much you can do no matter how powerful you are unless the Lonmouths want to declare war, which would be ridiculous. Robert forgave Mountain for the murder of a "high ranked" Martel, while Ned could do nothing. Laenor himself wasn't gonna be able to do anything without Corlys' backing. Corlys had no real incentive to push for punishment as that would've brought his son's sexuality into the forefront. So it's not a stretch to assume Viserys acquiesced to Alicent & spared Criston as a compromise/olive branch for depriving her son from being the heir. So Criston living was an example of Viserys' incompetence. Which is the theme of the first season. That Viserys' weakness, leniency & habitual bad decisions predestined his two families to a civil war.
I love how you defend Dameon we all do so welcome to Team black 😁
Honestly it seems like Mr October is going to be team green(saw that coming) and he's swaying Mrs October that way too. It's crazy that they think alicent's child deserves the throne because she is lonely, things don't go her way, and her feelings hurt. The king said who he wanted. The end Alicent is not even a Targaryen so it's the same thing lol
Daemon and the Seasnake fought against the Triarchy. Daemon is still defending against the Triarchy for the city of Pentos. So, he is not part of the Triarchy. Both he and Viserys hear reports of the Triarchy and react differently.
Such an excellent cast, at every level.
House Valeryn don't ride dragons except for those with Targarian blood. The Valaryns chose ships over dragons. They are all from Old Valaria of course.
The current Hand of the King, Lionel Strong, is the one who told his son, Ser Harwin Strong to pick up Rhaenyra at the ceremony. Harwin's brother is Lionel Strong who brought attention to the color of Alicent's dress.
Edit: correction Larys is Harwin's brother. 😂
The brother is Larys (the clubfoot)
@@bill.godwin-austen I typed in Lionel twice by mistake. 😂
@@Nichole-1989 Keeping the names straight in this universe can be tricky... so many are repeated or come in variants (Daemon/Aemond, Rhaenyra, Rheanys, Rheana)
@@bill.godwin-austen don't get me started on the numerous Rhaenyses, Rhaenyras, and Rhaenas. It took me half the first season to get it right. 😂
Well Daemon certainly didn't kill her, really. But he did finish her off i believe. She would have died anyway. In the books, she falls and survives for a few days and then passes off due to her injuries. And Daemon was no where near her. So this was showrunner's doing their own thing.
I think Otto's intention at least at the beginning of the show was to get rid of Damon because he knew he'd be a terrible king, and as you mentioned, he managed to take that as an opportunity to gain more power.
Clubfoot is a sneaky evil dude!

Aegon's dragon egg hatched, and Helaena bonded with an older dragon (the one that frightened Aemond when he sneaked back into the dragonpit).

“You’ll have a dragon one day”
“He’ll have to close an eye” 😮 wow, didn’t realize the daughter said that about Aemon getting his dragon. They make her seem crazy, but idk.
Nailed it with Cole and Jofferey. If he'd have minded his own business, Cole wouldn't have gone after him. Folks just like referees! Only see the retaliation and blame them that person! Never the instigator
Naw, Jofferey did instigate that, and should have kept his mouth shut, but HE DIDNT DESERVE TO BE BEATEN TO DEATH. That is on COLE.
It was a classic case of differing interpretations of their conversation... Joffrey intended it as "we both have secrets, we need to have each other's back and protect ourselves and our paramours", Cole took it as a threat to expose him.
Dang. Mrs def gets Viserys's nuances.

Also gotta point out way in th past old town use to be a place where ine could learn about science an magic but the high tower House essentially got corrupted by the Faith and banned learning magic from okd town and basically banned speaking about magic
Lord Strong didn’t set his son up with Rhaenrya. He was the master of laws and he is looking out for the good of the realm and that’s why he was upset with his son.
I still hold that rheanyra when being questioned about what happened with Daemon technically didn’t lie. And Otto putting into Alicents head her kids will be at risk was extremely calculated and callous. He’s awful lol
She totally lied, lol
@@thyagosaints no, alicent asked if she had been sullied by daemon, which she wasn’t . (almost did) but didn’t. even then the reasoning for alicents extreme questioning is purely because she’s jealous that rhaenyra has more lenient privileges.

You have to take notice that when Alicent talks she doesn't realize that it affects the people around. Which is basically what Larry (club foot) was saying. You keep talking and expect nothing to change but does. Alicent's children are crazy and full of hate because of her. She has every opportunity to make peace and because she was full of pride she didn't.

Paddy with a ‘D’ is Irish. The Gaelic spelling is Padraig. Hence the reason the Irish hates it when Americans say ‘Patty’s Day’.
There is a famous term called burning your gays it’s a term used when gay character’s are killed brutally for dramatic or comedic affect in a show or film, it’s also used if a gay character is left widowed in a show and don’t get to find another partner like Aron in the walking dead or they never find a partner or even come out till the end of a show like stranger things.
So when sir Cristan killed Joffrey like that there was a bit of an uproar.
Great reaction.
I find it very strange how so many reactors hear that Alicent has requested to see the newborn, and they assume, "What? They want Rhaenyra to walk right after giving birth?"
Um. Alicent requested to see the child, not Rhaenyra. Nobody said Rhaenyra had to come along.

She'd just have them swear fielty to her once she is names and everything would be fine, but Otto is ALL about planting that seed, like Larys. 53:43 Freddie Highmore from Bates Motel would've made a good Larys if he wasn't in The Good Doctor, lol. 1:32:31 Also any kids that are partially black may take a few days to show any extra pigment in their skin so looking at a bald white baby you can't get THAT CLEAR of a picture because Leanor's mom is white as well. Granted, the kids aren't his, but Alicent is obviously using any ammunition she can get against her.
1:00:05 alicent talking about honor and decency while checking out crispy’s junk.
A bit late watching this reaction but better late then never ❤
Sidepiece Alliance 💀
34:28 always pay close attention to people’s intentions when you see a rat
57:09 that is Helaena alway look deep into what she’s says
Hi. I am happy to continue my journey with you, after GOT. I must say I love your reactions: untill now , so natural and genuine, and moreover, no overreacting . You keep apologizing when you pause to express your thoughts. Seems like it bothers people? I love it , on the contrary. I prefer an immediate comment over the end wrapping up we get on youtube reaction channels: it feels more true to me. After all, we (subscribers) are here for your reaction, not to see the show: we already have 😉. sorry for the bad English
That’s crazy how y’all compared Tyrion and Shay to this .. I did the same I was going back and forth with my dad about it 😂.. but anyway I watch those episode breakdown videos on CZcams everytime a episode comes out, it really helps when I’m confused lol they compare scenes to the book too… just letting y’all know
Great reaction as always
And so begins the long grudge lol
You guys are so entertaining. Have you ever thought of applying to Survivor? I could totally see either of or both of you on it.
House of the Dragon
Great reaction guys... love it you guys immediately understood why Alicent is mad. Alot of reactors just hate Alicent and never understand her point.
We understand her point but it's petty and childish. Period
I do not understand how Viserys just allows Allicent to openly question Rhaenyra and her children 🤷♂️. What does it matter? I don’t quite understand it.
They're bastards! Normally would not matter but if you're in line for the throne it's against the law. Had no problem with Jofferey being king, did u?
Alicent is the Queen, she's the most powerful woman in the 7 kingdoms and outranks Rhaenyra as heir. She is totally within her rights to question whether the Princess is violating the law and undermining the legitimacy of the crown by trying to pass bastards on the throne. What Rhaenyra is doing undermines the authority of her family Lords and Ladies will think "If the crown does not care for law, custom and duty, why should I? Why should I serve a king who allows his daughter to get away with treason?". People are already going to try and undermine Rhaneyra because of her gender, she further weakens her position by keeping an open secret at court that could get her, her kids and Harwin exiled or killed.
@@user-wh1hp3gt7wThe kids have royal blood from rhaenyra unlike Joffrey who had none. Would u like for rhaenyra to grape laenor to get an heir ?just like aegon ?
@@Shiera_Seastar_ Their royal blood is irrelevant - they were born outside of marriage I.e. Laenor is not their biological father, making them "bastards". Jon Snow has Stark blood but that doesn't change the fact that he won't inherit Winterfell (in the books) because again, he was born outside of a noble marriage, making him a bastard.
@@andilezulu292 nobody gives a fuck about their parentage lmaoo corlys, rhaenys, laenor, the king etc did not care cuz they still had royal blood, the only folks that seem bother is alicent n her lil demons. If it weren’t for them, the kids would’ve ascended the throne without any complaints they were even receiving marriage proposals from all over Westeros
