- Carlos Sainz must choose between two of the worst teams in F1 for his post-Ferrari future, after Red Bull snubbed him to keep Sergio Perez instead.

I really wish Stroll was out of the picture to free up another seat at Aston Martin
He's the only reason Aston Martin has an F1 team.
@@NotAcvp3lla Lawrence Stroll, not Lance. Lance had his chance multiple times over. It’s absolutely clear that he does not have the level nor professionalism to compete in F1.
@@juandiegoprado My point still stand. If Lance wasn't an F1 driver Lawrence wouldn't be in F1. He tried to buy Williams to secure a seat for his son back when Lance was a driver there, eventually settling the deal with Force India now Aston Martin.
With Honda coming in that seat is going to Tsunoda
The seat will always be reserved for Lance unless he himself decides to walk away from formula 1
1. RB are idiots for passing over Sainz
2. Stroll being in a good car vs Sainz struggling -- is just madness!!
3. Ferrari booting him in the first place is just insane too
red bull are not idiots and neither are ferrari reality is sainz is not as good as he claims or projects to be all top teams have telemetry data on all drivers and know their worth same thing with ferrari when you are getting a 7xwdc why keep a 3 time race winner even if hamilton doesn’t perform he will bring marketing potential and top engineers to ferrari
No no no mercedes are the real idiots for not signing Sainz. Instead of a 3 time f1 Winner with tons of experiance they choose some random whos prolly gonna flop

@@mo215300This is not an argument but to build on your point.
Do I think Perez to be signed by Red Bull? Rather questionable since I doubt his performance reflects what is expected of him.
But as said in this video I understand why Red Bull did this. I guess neither of the fathers of Verstappen and Sainz like each other.
Ferrari just signed the most accomplished F1 driver of all time, what’s insane about that other than the fact they somehow pulled it off? This will be a test on both sides. If Lewis underperforms at Ferrari while leclerc shines, we can see if he really is past his prime. If both of them do poorly, it shows that no matter who is driving that car, it can’t keep up with the other top teams. I love sainz, but if it’s between his 3 wins and Lewis’s 7 WC, it’s not even close in the slightest.
Audi. Way more lucrative, way better post-F1 options, and way more money backing it.
And im sure Audi isn't using excel spreadsheets either.

The "tension" between Max and Carlos at TR is so overblown. It was between their fathers, and considering how Jos has been acting lately by stirring up trouble within RB, I wouldn't be surprised if it all originated from him as mind games to diminish the Sainz side of the garage. He is likely doing the same right now to keep Carlos out of RB.
Why does anybody take Jos Verstappen seriously anyway?
Jos has only been at two races this year so maybe there would have been a chance that Max is finally pushing him to the side
@@bbc6rgf57ytty5yxyw5gtthe media keeps giving him air time so he's staying relevant that way? I did hear in Monaco that he's only been at two races this year so maybe Max is pushing him out a bit.
@@jennstewart3003 Or maybe it's only begin of the season. We only had 8 of the 24 races.
Every time the race mentions this tension, I die a little inside 🙄🙄 such nonsense.
My guess is sauber. Knowing that its going to be Audi in the future, and the relationship his father has with audi. Plus Hulkenberg going there aswell its going to be a pretty good team imo. I can’t see him choosing Williams seeing their trackrecord the past decade.
His father actually no longer has the Audi connection, they burned the bridge pretty badly in fact. Sainz Sr is switching to Ford next year
Hulkenberg actually beat Sainz back in Renault. Could that be a concern for him?
Imagine the two Spaniards together....you just got strolled 😮
I feel bad for him. I enjoy seeing him and Norris compete with each other.
???
As a Sainz fan, this is the most disappointing hand he could've been dealt. Poor guy is on his way to becoming Danny Ric 2.0, forced to languish in a B-tier car just as he's hitting his prime 😔
Although I understand your analogy, Danny Ric decided on his own accord to go to McLaren iirc
Come on man, Williams would be way more competitive with a better driver, Albon and Sainz in Williams would work very well
very true
Absolutely insane redbull kept perez over wanting sainz.
I'd rather have seen Red Bull sign Alonso to pair up with Max.
"Red Bull is concerned about the tension between Max and Sainz" This shows Red Bull are unable to manage two drivers that could challenge each other somewhat often.
Well, I don't think any team was ever able to manage two drivers that were in the position to fight for the top spot of driver's championship.
Moreover, it's an issue between their dads, not them
Which is why Ricciardo left in the first place
@@gawdpromaxultra703 YEAH BETWEN JOS WHO WANT STEAL HORNER POSITION AND SAINZ SR WHO WANT TO KEEP HORNER IN THERE

Ferrari dropping Sainz is going to be an abomination, and that Lewis is off the mark he won't be impactful there
Why does Ferrari want a has been? Sainz is coming up and already beating Hamilton.
@@ldnwholesale8552 Ferrari is losing the next big thing in F1
Lesson learned for Sainz... he HADa Ferrari contract, but took too long in the back and forth negotiations. Brutal.
The only reason red bull won't get him is because Sainz Sr. Would whoop Jos's butt
Correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't merc sign Sainz and put antonelli in Williams?
That would make sense, hope it happens
William's isn't a sister team to Merc, like VCRB/Alpha Tauri has been to Red Bull. They've made deals in the past cause it was advantageous to both and William's having a Mercedes engine made transitions easier, but that's as far as it goes. They could do a similar deal as they did with Russel, but it's looking like Vowles is sticking to a long term team rehab plan and so he'll want the ability to hold onto a young driver that shows promise rather than being a reserve driver team.
Yes Merc can do that but Sainz will face the same dilemma like he did at Renault and Ferrari he will get booted out the team in favour of another driver. In this case Kimi antonelli. Sainz was lucky that Mick's career tailed off at Haas. Otherwise Mick was touted to become the new Michael Schumacher at Ferrari.
They could but Antonelli will land the Mercedes seat at least in 2026 which meant they could only offer 1 year to Sainz. Something he obviously doesn't want.
James Vowles knows that eventually they want to promote Antonelli anyway to keep him happy so Williams isn't willing to just be Mercs farm team to have Antonelli for a half-a-year rental.
Might his carrear very much similar to Valtteri , from top team to last team.
"career".
Carlos father, Carlos Sr., races for audi in rally races and wins consistently. He won the last Dakar race. It's fun to watch!
I'm certain Carlos will join Audi.
It is been 9 years since Sainz and Verstappen shared team, way back in Toro Rosso, im pretty sure by this point they would know how to compete, besides isnt RBR able to manage their drivers?.
I think the answer is no, Red Bull can't manage their drivers. Max doesn't want a challenge, it's pretty telling in his career when you look at his teammates and the stage of their careers when he goes against them.
If the rumours about the 2026 Merc PU are true, then we may see a 2014/2015 type affair where despite their inferior aero, Williams are miles up the grid.
I’m so disappointed that they kept Perez.
theyre gonna win 4 championship in a row why would they break the lineup😂😂

Audi would probably be the best option.
How great would it be if he goes to Audi and they build a great car that beats Redbull
Why does it seem that the influence of Sainz senior is not being considered? He is racing for Audi in Dakar.
Audi is the riskier but potentially higher reward option and Williams is going to lead the midfield at best but is also a safer bet
It's a crime that Ferrari put such a world class driver in this position.
Williams looks very promising as a long term project...but I hope he goes for Audi.
Why is that mate? In my opinion, Williams is the better option. They have Vowles and other prospects. Audi have Seidl whose stock went downhill at McLaren, and they have Keay whose stock also went down, and Sauber have had a lot of problems this year. Williams have had their problems, but it's short-term pain for long-term gain.
I think Audi is the riskier pick, it it has the potential to yield higher rewards long-term. That being said, if Sainz wants a short-term deal to boost his status before jumping ship again to (hopefully) a top team, Williams will be the better choice.
@@mrw1783 But they aren't a manufacturer, and they don't have Red Bull money, so there is a practical upper limit to what they can achieve in the modern F1.
@@mrw1783 Yeah I like Vowles and Albon, but I'm sure once the VW money and engineering talent from their various auto makers comes into play it will be a very different team. It will also be interesting to see how that engine the Porsche folks cooked up does. But, then again, Toyota and BMW did happen.
@@SanchezS1998Why do you think Williams would let him go after 1 season then? They have pretty much same goals with other midfield, back teams. They would choose a driver who would stay with them for pretty long time to develop.
Why wouldn't Merc put Kimi in Williams?

Development at Sauber Audi + another series such as IRL or WEC or any GT3 series with Audis in it
Damn, an Aston Martin Line up would have been INSANE if they had to Gull to kick Stroll out.
They want checo to help max to win the championship. They dont care about constructors for now. The only they want is to keep max happy. Im sure max give the ok to checo.
So you think he help Max win all of his WDC even what he did in AD21 that was Latifi and the SC LOL
FYI Perez just signed with RB for 2025 and 2026…
I used to respect Horner but his recent choices to keep Max happy in particular is pathetic.
Also he have huge admiration for Max’s talent, but if he cant beat his teammate in Sainz or he is scared of the battle, then that’s hugely disappointing
Yeah Perez is going to cost Redbull the constructors title this year at this rate. Boggles my mind that Redbull hasn't signed Sainz already they need another driver capable of fighting for victories. Perez just ain't the guy unless it's early in the season.
As soon they start developing the car towards what Max wants he drops off and can't compete.
Allegedly Redbull did offer Sainz a deal according to Helmut but I think they low balled him and also probably offered him a 1 year deal aswell
It’s not that Max is scared of Sainz, but Sainz is a hotheaded racer who would treat his teammate like an enemy. Look at how he races Leclerc. Red Bull don’t want any toxicity in their team by having a teammate like Sainz
It's easier to make Max look amazing by keeping Checo. Sainz might make Max look less impressive which would piss off RB. RB sees their drivers as products to extract profit, anything that devalues that profit gets axed.
Just a reminder , Last time they were in the same team max with 138 races less in single seaters than sainz , finished four positions ahead of him in the championship standings
Audi is the only choise that makes sense. Lets just hope they come in swinging. Also Stevie Wonder can see that ferrari doesnt have a driver problem, its literally everything else.
Albon Sainz: Williams
Hulkenberg Bottas: Audi
Gasly Tsunoda: Alpine
Magnussen Zhou: Haas
Stroll, Ricciardo, Ocon, Sargent: Nascar
Nah.
Are you kidding me you keeping zhou and removing ocon and Riccardo
Audi would be the best long term bet.
If Audi goes well, sainz could be a top 3 name for the next generation
As a checo fan I really think he could constructors championship if he actually gets his shit together and not have a repeat of 2023, he needs to adapt his driving style to even have a chance of staying. Plus we haven’t yet seen what will happen for the next races and how he performs even if everyone is thinking he’s done, I still think he’s got it in him
Sainz will drive the safety car for the 2025 season
If RB loses the wcc theyll know why
They don’t care about that they only care about rocket boosting max to wins, titles, and records
Red Bull want to be able to say they produced the greatest driver ever from start to finish it’ll be great for their brand that’s why max will never leave and Red Bull will never have him challenged inside the team
@kevinkevin6542 yeah, that's the reason they have patience with Perez, he's good but not great enough to challenge Max, best he can do is clench that 2nd spot.
@@mro-aviation yeah and I’ve been thinking about it after I made those comment that is straight up Red Bulls whole motto as a company not just a race team it’s to hold and break records weather it’s winning world titles or landing a airplane on helicopter pad they want to hold the record for it
RB doesnt, and has never cared about the WCC they put their focus on the WDC.
If there was no cap i'd say Audi would be the best option, they in theory could just throw money at the problem until it was fixed, Mercedes style, however, this is actually a tougher decision.
Sainz to Lewis: Thanks for ruining my career.🤝
I think Mercedes is a good option. With perez's performance, its possible rh might terminate the contract sooner due to a possible performance claude likely in place but thats just speculation. Even if they do, Riccardo is great since rb wont have to spend anything. Im hoping merc decides on him insted of antolli OR audi has a competitive car in 2025
I think if he was such a talent the top teams would have signed him. If Max, Leclerc, Norris would be without a contract do you think any top team would hesitate to sign them?? Ofcourse not. Carlos just isn't on that level.
William may improve a bit in the near future. But unlikelly to be fighting for wins anytime soon. Audi is a much better option. Maybe some short term pain, but real potential there.
Williams has no long term promises on improvement they have not improved at all for years. Audi however seems to be the best long term decision.
I think kick sauber/audi is the obvious choice. Williams has been going nowhere fast for the better part of a decade and a new works team is generally going to be a good performer. Depends if said works team is Renault or not
Sainz was painful 2022 Austria, and now he is painful, no red bull or Mercedes
I reckon perez's contract is gonna get ended for lack of performance and sainz will take the seat. And if redbull do not take sainz they really should take yuki tsunoda.
I really don’t think that Mercedes has closed the door on Sainz just yet.
Keeping Checo closes out any silly season intrigue. His seat was the only one making things interesting and now that’s gone.
Well, he switched from Renault to Mclaren in 2019, despite Mclaren being one of the worst teams in 2017 and 2018 (same for Sauber now) and suddenly 2019 was a better year for Mclaren. Of course, being kicked out from Ferrari seems like a massive downgrade in his career rn but I think that Sauber-Audi partnership has a good potential and it would be a massive brain moment for Sainz to do what Niko Hulkenberg just did.
But Sergio has been doing bad this season being out in q3 two times in a row and crashed 2 races back to back Monaco and Canada 🇨🇦
I think both of those teams have very interesting futures on the horizon. I don't think either of these would be a bad choice. Better than Haas or VCARB IMO
All this because Sainz Sr and Jos wouldn't get along
Wtf are red bull doing
Personally it looks like they want to keep a driver that makes Max look even better. Perez struggling in a Red Bull that's beginning to show weakness makes Verstappen look like a miracle worker when he puts it on pole, takes a win or a podium. Only reason the current number one team in F1 is sticking with a driver with such an erratic form. Any other of tge big teams would replace a driver with such form at the earliest opportunity
Carlos Sainz team must be dreadful at negotiations or teamss just dont rate him.
Sadly this yet again proves a point I've been saying for awhile now.
These young driver programs are costing established drivers a chance.
Even after proving their skills in a top team, they aren't wanted else where, as everywhere else is trying to find room for their next Lewis, Vettel or Max.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing for young drivers to get a chance to show what they can do but unless your in a driver program, you need to be very lucky or accept your in the mid pack at best.
Nico and Carlos in one team. That sadly would be Audi... and, as much as I hope for the two drivers, but I simply hate Audi way to much and being realistic, won't achieve anything big...
what is your beef with Audi?
I don't know much about motorsports except F1, so just curious
@@WaitThatsWhereYouWere Look up "DTM 2021 Norisring". Both races, saturday and sunday. The start is enough.
Then 24 hour race at the Nürburgring an Audi driver pushed another car off the track by forcing a third car into that one and in the end, after the race was ended early and just 7 hours and 23 minutes of driving they cried in happynes because they won.
Also many more years in DTM before.
And Audi drivers out on the road. They don't use their turn signals, think they own the road and everyone not driving an Audi is "poor" or otherwise "worthless" to them because they think their car is the best, yet I totally destroy them around every corner in my f***ing daily without even trying to "race" them...
He can also be considered for Alpine. Ocon is out. And replacement is speculation.
Knew he shouldn’t have left McLaren
I think he will go to Sauber (Audi) because his father has good conections with the brand in rally
How did Sainz end up so low on the totem pole for an F1 seat? He's not super old, still competitive, even compared to Charles. Right now he's 15 points behind Charles and to Ferrari Charles is God tier lol. Then you got sainz 15 points behind and only teams he has open for him are the lower scoring ones?? Absolutely ridiculous..
What about this hypothesis:
- Perez knows he’s out in 2 years and is purposefully botching this season so RB buys him out handsomely for year 2 so they can get Sainz in for next year?
How can this happen he is a great driver how he kept lando in his DRS to WIN showed his quick thinking & it’s a disgrace that fararai have left him in that situation future champion in the right car
Sainz is a really good driver in my opinion, above the average and can easily keep up with drivers like LeClerc, Norris and Lewis if he's given a chance.
Red pill: help build a team to succeed
Blue pill: be at a team that is consistent
I wanna see Alonso Sainz duo on Aston martin. That would be mind blowing.
Too bad, 0% chance of that happening.
the offer at audi might have changed already at this point since he doesn't have alot of options anymore
Audi has money and a huge amount of automative engineering experience, not to mention the brand recognition. They seem like an obvious choice...
How is it only Audi and Williams? Alpine is also an option, VCARB also seems like an option. It's sad there are no front runner seats for him, he's worth it... RB chose money by going with Perez, Mercedes doesn't seem interested, McLaren seats are taken. Alpine or Audi seems to be the safest bets.
I never understood watching F1 from my perspective. Its fun to have a team or player to root for to win but in f1, only two or three teams have a chance at winning. What is the enjoyment for the fans of the other team/players, or is it just the enjoyment of watching the racing
Sainz and Albon would be a great pair at an improving Williams. Audi has "Toyota 2002" vibes about it.
While it all happened quite organically and in deliberately In many respects, this sainz situation is actually quite an embarrassing look for F1 I think.
Sainz is performing at a high level now with multiple wins in the last 2 years and the only man until very recently to win and he’s stuck without a great seat for next year…meanwhile Perez remains at redbull despite functioning at an obviously lower level than Sainz currently and teams like Aston keeping lance on rather than snapping up Sainz…
Alonso and Sainz would be a cohesive and very strong pairing I think, it’s really laughable that stroll will have a stronger car next year than Sainz.
I really feel sorry for him especially seeing Perez and Stroll extending contracts...going Ricciardo's way unfortunatelly but even worse, he doesn't have a choice.
RB would never take Sainz in. They don't want a teammate anywhere near the potential to pressure Max in the front. They want someone who is kinda fast, and whose sole purpose is to get and keep Max in the front of the race.
stake now get new management of prior Ferrari ex-team boss...might be a good place to be.
If it has to be one of those two, I‘d rather see Sainz at Sauber/Audi and hope Audi brings a fire car for their 2026 debut…fingers crossed…seems unlikely tho for them to immediately turn up to F1 and get everything right in the first season.
Audis going to give him the most money with the most upside. Along with his dad already being an Audi Baja driver it just makes too much sense.
No, I cannot be Ricky!
Please tell them to wait till after the race is finished and discuss with me.
Please, please, please, please
Thats really bad for a talented driver like him. He is sometimes even better than Leclerc, Ferrari should have continued with him
Go for Audi. Their track record of success in many forms of Motorsport is unequalled. A great opportunity for him to make a big success with them for many years.
Won't RB need a second driver too though? And won't that second seat mean a still existing opportunity for Sainz?
It's official he went to williams😔
Sainz screwed himself but holding out and trying to make the big teams give him a better offer. It backfired and now he is going to get a worse offer with a back field team. But perhaps if he is as skilled as he thinks he is he should be able to make a big impact on a back field team.
I’m just hoping they put stroll out in favor of a dream pairing of Alonso and Sainz, but let’s be real, no way that’s happening
I wish/hope Haas is gonna shock everyone by signing him but I don't think they can afford him 😢
I still think Sainz should go to Merc. Kimi can wait... Stroll needs to leave, that would have been a great option to have a double spaniard team as well.
Maybe a 2 yr contract with Williams for now? Audi even though a engine manufacturer is not guaranteed to be good. If audi performs well in 1st season sainz comes to audi. Sainz sr drives and audi in Dakar rally he probably has good connections in the team a late signing of sainz won't be a problem hopefully.
Between those 2 choices? No brainer, AUDI works team will be an easy decision if you look at the long-term future prospects
Checo isnt safe he needs a big points haul at Spa !!
Sauber, Williams recent history has been horrible. You can bank on Audi to draw on its resources to become a top tier team. Might be teething issues for a season or two but I think they will get there.
It's ridiculous because they were rookies and now are multiple GP winners oh and it's 9 years later. It's so Overblown. RBR will lose the Manufactures title by keeping Perez.
Kimi getting rushed to f1 is going to cause him to end up a bust their putting to much pressure on the kid max is an anomaly and no team should be trying to replicate his career
Red bull is really deserving of all the hate it gets.
Horny Horner will do everything to make sure we don't have a strong teammate for Max even if it means no WCC because let's not forget no WCC means no employee bonus which really helps him be incharge.
He is more focused on his workers spanx than his driver lineup
I don’t really see the dilemma here. Audi is certainly going to be better than alpine and even if they are anywhere near as bad as that- still better to be with a works team than an independent back marker. Vowes might completely turn that team around but, they’ll still be a mid-field independent team.
That's right. Audi has a history of entering competition, win those competition and leave... they usually try to make a point that it's not hard 😅 lol
Madness. He's such a talented driver.
He needs to stay away from Hass at all cost, Willys is done & had it’s day never to be repeated unfortunately, Personally I’d be looking to Sauber which hopefully will become Audi…..Stroll needs to go tho, Sainz would do good partnering the Matador & his hero👌
