Beterbiev is, on top of being a smart tactician, just stupidly physically gifted. He barely needs to commit on his punches to generate power, so he's always balanced. He uses his arms and slight head movement very well for defense and is just crazy fuel efficient. Plus it looks as if he has rocks under his skin.

@@LionsOnly21cringe, all our abilities come from “god” we’re all more similar than different, one of his many gifts is naturally heavy hands, Ted tho go try his style on a bag yourself, focus on balance and slower rhythmic punches, be a little tighter than normal in your shoulders but practice good form and you’ll generate more power than normal too, ggg does similar, it makes them look slow at times but every punch actually is thrown with perfect technique from a more square stance, that’s why.

He's an undefeated pro, unified champ at Cruiserweight with a few heavyweight championship belts. I'm thinking he takes punches anywhere quite well.

@@paulkaufmann8130 He got hit in the body and acted as if he got hit in the groin and went down to fake it. Same thing he did against Dubois. It's a deliberate tactic. Worse case, you get a small break, lost the round and take an 8 count. Best, case, the other guy gets a point taken away or a warning, and you get to keep your guard higher the whole fight without worrying so much about a liver shot. I guess he figures, rightly so, I'd think, that the benefits of the 2nd case over the term of the fight outweigh and point you lose by getting knocked down. I don't condone it, but he's a fair, clean fighter, overall, so it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things IMO.

Are you sure? You saw Beterbiev landing single or max two thudding shots at a time, did you see Usyk landing 4-5 punches between Usyk's 1-2 punches. In Amateur, they count the number of punches landed and how effective they are. Usyk landed more effective punches even though Beterbiev's punches were more powerful. In a professional fight, the rounds would have gone to Beterbiev, but as per the amateur system, Usyk won.

All the keyboard warriors can whine-on about body shots, but the facts are as simple here as they were against Dubois… Usyk got dropped with a body shot but still outclassed the opponent in all other respects and won. It’s not some special, secret insight that the place to hit Usyk is the body. Any amateur coach would advise not to head-hunt a fighter with good feet and head movements: hit centre mass. That’s all very well but you still then have to do it enough to win… every belt holder at Cruiser couldn’t, nor has any of the HWs that tower over him… the Dubois question is silly - ya man isn’t staying down for 10 after that shot if the ref started counting - exactly like this video proves!!

Anyone who has experienced that in sparring or a bout will know how uncomfortable and painful it can be.
Also, factor in the power of beterbiev and it seems slightly unfair to say it was a legit bodyshot that took the wind/hurt his legal target area.
Maybe I'm wrong, just how I saw it from watching the highlights here.

Watching this makes it even more surprising Usyk has so much success at HW. He towered over ppl in the amateurs and as we see here he got dropped. Granted it was beterbiev but still. Usyk skills are overrated and he’s not that fast plus he doesn’t have any dangerous power or really much of any power at all at that. I hate that I sound like I’m hating on him and really I can’t say this isn’t but he’s genuinely not that special fr. And I’m actually a fan of his tbh. (Side note I’m a bigger fan of Fury however I still think this is an even fight. Unless Tyson Fury’s ring rust was just that real and/or he ain’t train that well I believe he’s aged out.
