- For this 10x10 diorama project, I wanted to challenge myself and build the famous Mystery Shack as featured in Alex Hirsch’s cartoon series Gravity Falls. The cabin was built using clapboard sheet styrene, and all of the detail parts were 3D printed. The roof shingles were made using brown paper, and the spruce trees were a combination of bamboo skewers, florist wire, and ground foam. The interdimensional portal was built using a variety of 3D printed parts and acetate sheet stock. Twelve volt LEDs were embedded in glue gun-filled cylinders and tinted using translucent blue sandwich container lids to created the glowing transporter beams. The entire model was painted with inexpensive acrylic paints and weathered with an India ink isopropyl alcohol wash.
The project took approximately two weeks to complete and was a lot of fun to build.
Thanks for watching!

Another great build, NSD! :D
Wow, I'm only just now stumbling upon this. Well done, it's so detailed!
Stanly you are actually right for one's -Ford pines
Finally
you can now attract some tourists
this is so underrated, Alex would've loved it
Hay awesome job my favorite is the portal please don't stop making these awesome builds
Absolutely insane, looks realistic, and even includes all the details of the actual shack, as a BIG fan of gravity falls I approve of this. Genuinely though it looks sick keep up the good work.
Thanks a ton! I've watched the entire series at least twice and I'd pay good money for another season.

Wow……
A complete change of scenery to your other builds and it looks awesome. I love those trees.
Kool. Love the scratch build /printed parts mix.
Utterly amazing! Makes me want to build my own! Thank you for sharing!

Absolutely wonderful scratch build!
And as always, weathered to perfection!

Awesome editing and build!
Wow this is another fantastic build!
Awesome video and great work all around.
A work of art dude. Great job.
Thank you so much 😀
Awesome work on the Mystery Shack! The amount of precision on your builds is top level! I just make basic measurements and start chopping away ahaha
💯
Awesome, awesome, awesome!
One of my favorite animated series, awesome work!)
Right after this I tried to make one of my own out of just scrap I had around didn’t look quite like yours but I’m proud ☺️
That's amazing! The more gravity falls artifacts are in the world the better!
this is soooo cool!!!!
great....love the Shack. Gravity Falls is one of my favorite series.....subbed
Thanks!
This is GREAT!
Thanka Dipper! Uh... Zach!
A beautiful scratch built. The Mystery of the shack is fairly disturbing. Some sort of portal? To where? Thanks for another outstanding video. I have been spreading the word. See ya next time.
The mystery Shack is the anchor location for a cartoon series called Gravity falls - a very popular (and well done) animated show that could be described as the cartoon version of X-files and Twin Peaks.
That was f'n AWESOME
Thanks!
very nice... thx 4 sharing... vinny

I wonder if you can make a robot version of the robot
WOW! this is amazing i wish i could do thing like that to
This build is amazing!!! What type of glue did you use?
For any of the joints that were styrene against styrene, I used styrene cement. 3D printed parts attached to styrene were attached with super glue. Scenic materials used diluted white glue as an adhesive. Thanks for watching!
Great video and wonderful artistic skill. Excuse my ignorance. But what is the name of the material you used to made the house? Was the roof after done with cardboard?
I used simple brown paper taken from lunch bags for the roof shingles. Thanks!
Can you share 2d drafts with us pls
Beautiful work!! Found this video because I have been rewatching Gravity Falls for the third time and wanted to do a model train set around the town. Do you have the files for the mystery shack?
Hi! The only files I have are for a few of the detail bits. I can't find any of the drawings. 🤔
@@NScaleDystopia if you still have the files for the 3d printed parts, would you be willing to share it?
If so amazing! If not, thanks for the wonderful model anyways!
Now turn the house into a robot.
I know exactly what you're talking about and I love the idea
@@NScaleDystopia so you will do it?
@@rexyjp1237 Not soon, but not never. 😁
What 3D printer is that?
