I would never had said anything until you started painting one sardine with another... but it is sort of monstrous the way you dissect the lil guys and dangle their spines above their mangled bodies. It's very entertaining. 👍

It took me months after watching one of your videos with the titanium chopsticks to finally track down and purchase a few pair. Mine look identical to yours. Snow Peak. Perfect for picking up dainty little morsels of goodness and teasing gently some spine action. Can't eat any dines or tinned seafood of any sort without them now. Merci beaucoup monsieur Carlson!

The Mouettes de arvor brand has a tin of sardines with garlic & butter & if you remove the lid & place the opened can sitting in a heated up sauté pan & heat the entire tin of sardines to warm then turn the tin upside down onto your plate so that sauce that WAS on the bottom of the tin is now warm & poured on top of the sardines… it’s delicious, instead of just eating them straight out of the tin that’s been sitting on a shelf for who knows how long. It lets you experience the sauce WITH the sardine & it’s a better experience (to me, anyway).

Never had French sardines that I know of....looking forward to this video! First can: Nice plump little fishes. Look good. BTW...very cool titanium chopsticks. Re-usable and good for self defense too. Especially when camping. You can poke a bear's eye out with one of those....in a survival situation. You don't want to go poking bears eye's out for no reason....but I guess you already know that :) I loved that split open sardine. I always love the vertebrae which is so easy to eat and loads of calcium. I'd smear these on rye toast with some horseradish in a heartbeat! Okay Second Can: Oooh, a little stiffer fishes, not so plump. They look like they may have been smoked (and thus drier) prior to be canned. They look very good. Very nice French speaking! The second can sardines I want to make into a Quesadilla A La Veracruz. Excellent taste test. Thank you.

While the flavor was very good except for the super fishy taste, they were super mushy, had gobs of scales in the bottom of the can & my favorite part of eating sardines is pulling out the spine to eat it but the spines in these would not come out in less than 5 pieces. It just wouldn’t hold together so I was disappointed. So far my favorite all-time sardines are $4 Matiz with lemon.

I have managed to source the connetable in Asia, they are pretty pricey between 700-1400 yen depending on the outlet. Recently found some sort of outlet sale for imported foods where I could buy 3 cans for 1000 yen, these ones were in olive oil with the spines removed. Pretty good easy for making salads or pasta but the skin condition is not great (like yours). Still prefer bristling sardines though in general.

Yeah, I would be excited to buy these 3/1000 yen. Nice way to mix up the pilchard scene in my cupboard.

A little doughy. Nuff said. If they were open for 1 year instead of 35 or a chain instead of family the true score would come out. A MAXIMUM OF 6. Dave can't keep it real cuz he's a softy at heart. Why we love him, watch him, pray for him not to have a heart attack between all the pizza cheese, Adderall, and other goodies. 😮

Eww!! Is that the really gross stuff in the fishing aisle? I'll review it for my $1000/month Patreon supporters.

Do you have a postbox adress? I can send you some French sardines if you want. We have MANY sorts of sardine cans here in France. Huge aisles in most supermarkets
