I am not surprised to see perisno be at the top, but what blows my mind is that the hand I lent for something that I think is so small is still intact there…. I am the lore writer for the freelancer guild and I wrote that for them 9 years ago now. It’s truly been an honor to have my name planted within one of Warbands most beloved mods and it still blows my mind to this day.
I remember you from my first mod video! Even found the character named after you 😄
Thank you for your contribution to this great mod.
Thank you for your work on this mod!
Freelancers are some of my favorites
@@PeterMartyrVermigli_is_cool god does not exist
You will not regret playing Viking Conquest if you like Brytenwalda
No doubt, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
I actually liked it more than brytenwalda
Does Brytenwalda have better troops in english isles troop trees?
Because in VC clearly norse tree is superior and I didn't find it fun at all to form anglo-saxon armies lol
@@ax23mgh8 anglo Saxon armies are crap, but the Irish nobles are incredibly good and easier to train than Norse troops
If you have brytenwalda there's absolutely no reason to play viking conquest
Great review. I love Perisno and Pendor, Bannerpage is must for Vanilla. I played more or less everything from the list, but The last days of third age is the best for me. it's just awesome.
Novas Aetas, Light & Darkness: Heroes of Calradia, 16th Century, Gekokujo Daimyo Edition, Age of Sword & Sorcery, Warsword Conquest, World of Vasnar, 1257 A.D Enhanced, Hispania 1200, In the Name of Jerusalem, and the Last Days of the Third Age. These are my top favourite mods of all time. There needs to be more fantasy based mods around the Holy Roman Empire and Renaissance period where the Empire faces many unnatural evil enemies such as the undead, orcs, goblins, vampires and even corrupted humans.
So Warhammer Fantasy?
@@4mbrose More stuff like that. Not just Warhammer fantasy.
@@latter-daysaintbatman2679 That means more warhammer fantasy
Nova Aetas was really fun and I'd like a remake of it for Bannerlord.
Agree on Pendor. It's by far the most polished mod with so much new content but it's also by far the grindiest, most tedious Warband experience I've ever had. Every bit of power takes hours to achieve and while I do think that it's rewarding in theory, the amount of busy work you have to do is just unreasonable. And stuff like "Oh btw after this hour-long battle you didn't get Qualis gem, because the leader escaped btw you can't savescum so better fight another 1000man army" or "There was a red brotherhood quest to get 1 easy gem, but in our recent update we made the chance of getting it after talking to a traveler like 0.001% have fun!" or "We've heard that you could exploit sieges by shooting arrows and retreating so now we've made so a basic tactical maneuver of retreating grants your party -50 morale, -honour, controvery points and everyone hates you" are complete bs that just suck out every single bit of fun to be had in this mod.
Everyone has their own opinion. In PoP escaping leaders are a valuable reason to put points into prisoner management, which would otherwise be a dump stat. Also since I played PoP sieges became much more enjoyable to me in all mods, because I stopped that silly shoot-and-retreat-tactic and started playing sieges seriously. Taking a castle by full storm feels much more rewarding.
@@Chraan "valuable reason" aka "mandatory if you don't want to have extra ton of awful grind, since those leaders are the only way to get Gems" aka "Create a problem and sell the solution" type design.
If you played sieges like this that's a you problem. Last time I checked Warband was a sandbox game, so making an extra handicap that makes literally no sense outside of metagaming just so "the bad players would play the way I want" is dumb and sucks the fun out of sandbox. And all it helped to achieve is making Pendor the only mod where I stopped fighting in battles altogether and went full autocalc instead, since I was not having fun at all.
@@duhotatoday3277 You keep saying "grind" but I have no idea what you are talking about, especially when you compare it to Perisno. Perisno has more grind, while in PoP there are more than enough points to spend because you get points for free. You talk about "you problems" but you describe your "you problem" ironically. Battles are awesome in PoP and I enjoyed them more than i Perisno, because in Perisno you can just swarm every army with mounted archers and that's it. In PoP I deployed tactics and chose my units carefully.
@@Chraan no idea what grind I'm talking about? Qualis gems in particular. By far the worst thing about POP btw. And btw mounted archers spam is by far the most powerful thing in PoP. Noldor doesn't ring any bells?
"You problem" was that you for some reason couldn't stop exploiting until mod devs forced you into a playstyle with arbitrary punishments for using a retreat option that make no sense in the context of a game itself. That's what I'm talking about.
You could have much more elegant solutions to retreat spam like you know, retreat causalities that you leave behind instead of "EVERYONE HATES YOU NOW CONGRATS"
@@duhotatoday3277Qualis Gems are rare and they are supposed to be. I found 3 in my complete playthrough and I only needed one for my custom knighthood order. No grinding. Also Noldor can't be spammed, they are difficult to recruit. In Perisno you can raise infinite slave armies in every town and among them are Virago Heroines, which decimate any army on open fields. An army of 1000 of them can be trained within 5 days.
The punishments for fleeing sieges are fair, you get a penalty to your honor and that's reasonable, you need to make a tactical choice whether these punishments are worth abandoning the siege.
For ne gekokujo is always a win. The siege was awesome with different type of castle and multi layer gates makes your head really thinks hard sometime
My favourite mod has to be New Dawn, which (among a ton of other changes) adds roaming minor factions that occasionally turn into hordes, take over cities and become real factions. The battles are huge and there's plenty of faction variety too
as much as new dawn is completely abandoned it's still an amazing mod, I love the mechanic of new factions emerging as revolts.
The new Trops are amazing, a huge and great mod
I'd definitely give you praise if you made a guide on Nova Aetas; the mod needs more attention, all i wish is that someone would pick it up to hammer out some game-breaking bugs.
I like the mod but god it's so badly optimized it might be my laptops fault but still a little bit of polishing could go a long way
That mod gave me hope for what warband really could have been like
I just recently found your videos through your mod reviews on warband and thank you for giving honest reviews and will definitely be trying out most of these mods. Gonna be on the lookout for guide videos for these mods also
Thanks! Enjoy the content :)
Fun to see how many mods still use TLD assets. The giant spiders I did expect, the ancient version of our trolls in one of the top picks - I sure did not. Man, that's some true 2009 tech right there. :))
I’d recommend a decent mod called Star Wars Conquest. It’s on Warband. It’s on the steam workshop but it never worked for me through it so I had to manually install it. It’s a pretty good experience if you’re a Star Wars nut (was the first Warband mod I played) and I can say I actually enjoyed it thanks to how large the map is. It’s got a large quantity of planets (though they’re more like one cell like a village) and features an actual active conflict between rebels and the empire, with each side able to take over planets. It’s more like an actual RPG than a battle-centered mod.
Solid try in my opinion.
Have you tried swc: the new order? It’s a continuation of the original mod and has a lot more to do. Its development is halted indefinitely but the creator says he may pick it up again, still worth a play if you’re a fan of the original and it adds a lot of cool stuff, my favorite feature being the cover mechanic
Aut ceasar Aut Nihil has to be my favourite mod alongside Perisno and Rising Sun Bakumatsu. The amount of content in AC AN is unbelievable. Joining as a soldier in the Roman legion is so much fun.
It's like a whole new game on its own.
Bakumatsu and Gekokujo for that matter would be soooo much better if the battle AI was improved. Love the aesthetic and feel of the mods but just wish they had improved battle AI
This is EXACTLY why I previously subbed. Thanks for another awesome video!
Thanks for the sub! Tell your friends :P
Great list for finding new mods! My personal favourite is definitely Pendor
Thanks! I will start with Bones of Ragnvald, then definitely try the Perisno. Keep up doing the good work, peace
Thanks, and have fun!
It’s a bit surprising that pendor is rated so low. Many of the qualities that you praise perisno for are also present in pendor.
Yes. The whole list actually quite terrible. It's all according to his opinion and sadly his opinions is very bad. Great video idea, great mod knowledge, but absurdly bad taste.
it's astonishing how many massive mods there are for this game, each one of those sounded like a whole other game :0 thanks for reviewing! I just got this game a few weeks ago absolutely love it (I know it's over a decade old but you can't beat the classics and it was cheap!)
Have fun :D
While you prefer mods that overhaul the setting, I'll still recommend giving Silverstag a look. It's the closest thing I've played to an ideal vanilla+ warband and is probably responsible for a fifth of my 2k+ hours.
in your opinion what makes it better or whats the difference with floris?
@@tonyravioli438 I personally really liked the perk system, troop recruitment changes, overall game balance, clean UI, and customization options for Silverstag. It was a very polished mod. I had fun with Floris and Floris based mods in the past but many features in them felt crude in comparison, and I crashed far more often.
This is going off memories from 3+ years ago, keep in mind.
@@Oddigan Thank you for the answer will try it soon
Nice video! A lot of good mods, that I didn’t know.
Gekokujo is legit one of theee best mods it just feels good to play and being a really big japanese history buff I love the atmosphere
The last days and warsword conquest are my favorite mods that I've been playing for years until I started bannerlord. I do agree how you've ranked them and I expected you to rank Perisno as #1
As a Burmese, I played the mod "Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth," and I was shocked by the amount of effort they put into the game. The name of the characters and their relations to others are accurate, and they have awesome dialogues that are historically accurate. I have also tried Perisno, but it was too overwhelming and boring for me.
I am German and I put Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth over Perisno tbh. Perisno just seems to be an overlay of Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth as it adapted nearly all features, but while Perisno just seems messy and mashed together, Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth feels like a living world.
really like how you have a section for things you can respect, but aren’t for you.
16th century is jaw dropping. literal dream come true lol
Nice video, sorry that i could not get back to you with some new mods. I think you should keep producing videos on Warband and Bannerlord mods. This community need all around modding channels like what you are doing
No worries, as you can see I still had my hands full ;)
I can see that spice has changed your eyes colors duke 😂😂
This a dune reference? 😆 i think i just oversaturated the shot, i'm almost wearing lipstick too 😂
my issue with some mods is that they feel too much like native underneath the modded surface , unlike for example medieval conquests which is my fav mod
That's exatly my issue with Bannerpage. The mod is very well built, but I don't like native much anymore. I played the shit out of it when i was little and didn't know what even mods were.
If you in a mood for something on native map „A New Dawn” is great mod to try. It is based on the Floris Mod Pack but with harder earlygame and more endgame content. I liked it because in native and floris I feel like I get to steamroll everyone too quickly. Also added minor factions are pretty nice and can be a challenge once they take some settlements.
Everyone sleeps on this one. Perhaps my most played mod! 👍
I can 100% agree on this list. Im so happy i found this channel, i found out about new mods thath i didnt now they existed like brytenwolda or Aut Ceasar, such a good mods. I hope for new warband and bannerlord videos
Thanks, you got plenty of mods to try out before you need new content from me though :P
Tyvm for your review it helps a lot
Which mod are you gonna play?
@@TerryDuke i will try all of them. It would be a crime if i stick into one early
LESSGOOOO FAV MOD IS NUMBER 10
with that aside, there were some mods that looked cool to me, and I thank you for showing some great mods. I'll be sure to play Explorer (What I wanted to make in a dream game but am too stupid to do) and tainted paths because it looks nice.
Good stuff bro
I agree with Perisno being the first, but Prophesy of Pendor not in top5? Granted it is slow, but ticks all the boxes you set.
In my book, Prophesy of Pendor is at least second, if not tied with Perisno for fiest position.
Might I suggest the independence of chile mod it really should tick a lot of your boxes and I'm surprised you didnt mention it and must tell you the dev of that mord is fast at work for the 5.0 version so you could get into the mod once it launches or even now 4.0 is really good
Great list, have you tried Star Wars Conquest? I believe is one of the best mods for sure.
Never heard of it, will look it up.
What version of Phantasy Calradia do you play? I use V158 from nexusmods and it's... "playable." I've had a few bugs and stuff.
YOU DIDNT MENTION "Chronicles of Might and Magic"!!! Thats crazy!!!
Thats like one of my favorite with genuine spell book and pictures and spell points!!! And cool system of developing your character past your stats with drops from different dungeons. You can get your stats even like to 60 +
A nerd that doesn’t appreciate LOTR..? This world really is turning upside down…
Yup, lotr is overrated 😉😄
Thanks for this video
While watching your video didn't expect Lineage 2 Music but I
bro i swear to god you are the one who getting me back to this game with your mods suggestions
There's always more mods to play! ;)
Suvarnabumi Mahayuth is the goat. My favourite warband mod.
Playing Paradigm worlds multiplayer must feel like the average online game experience from the late 2000s/ early 2010s
16th century mod is overwhelming lmao
Missed a major issue with between empires: trenches. the game is at its best when you’ve set up a trench line and are being charged by a huge horde of enemies as you cut them down with artillery and machine guns and the crack of hundreds of rifles. However this usually doesn’t happen. Usually what happens is they’ll dig their own trenches. Cannons and howitzers will do almost nothing against enemies in trenches, same with machine guns, forcing you to either charge them (guaranteed loss unless they either don’t have bolt actions or you have 3x as many troops) or try to set up your own counter trench and pray that they take more casualties than you. There’s no way to get them to leave the trench. The mod is super fun right up until that starts happening.
So its pretty accurate then
@@HenryAnderson-th7en nah. People in real life didn’t take 12 direct hits from heavy artillery cannons and take 0 damage just because they were standing in some dirt behind some sandbags instead of on grass. Machine guns also are physically incapable of hitting people in trenches, they don’t understand that they can’t shoot through the sandbags.
I'd highly recommend the ACW revived mod. It just got a massive update too
Best mod imo
@@Rizzbullawhat is it about?
Would be helpful when you write the full name
@@irgendeinname9256ACW= American civil war
Been getting into perisno for the first time these last few weeks and it’s a blast. I did super enjoy Pendor, but I also embraced the LONG grind to get endgame OP, and with the sheer volume of stuff you’re reviewing I totally get why you would want to move on😂
Thanks for the list! Pumped to check out Brytenwalde next!
Finally someone understands. These days i can only spend so much time on a mod.
Very glad to find recent warband mod videos. I only played warband on PS4 so I'm really excited to finally get some good mods.
Thank you for you videos
Looking at the shaders, how the f did you get 16th century working with WSR? I get spammed with ”...has left part” messages every second if I try to run it with WSR2 :(
Extra comment for the algorithm. Thanks for the hard work sir.
Thanks, I can use all the momentum I can get!
American Cival War Revived is the G.O.A.T
Great vid
rising sun also a submod for gekukujo
Played Warband on console, years of Vanilla with nothing but a glitch to keep me going (a save where the character had the smoking animation that raided settlements would have, following him around on the campaign map - made for a great RP raider). With 3k hours in Bannerlord now - Bannerpaste and Extended Production are the only ones I really used and considering how long it is since they stopped working, it's fair to say I'm still a vanilla player even on PC. Love the game but still sad at how little love the player Banners have been given. Perisno and Pendor have always been the most fun for me to watch
i see the 16th century is very amazing
thanks
Sixteenth-century is great but it's overwhelming it's just a lot
I highly recommend to try out 457 AD, one of the best Singleplayer mods I ever played. Kind of similiar to Brytenwalda.
Hehe czcams.com/video/FOG1rkmjJcI/video.html
I for one prefer Prophesy of Pendor because it is the only mod I’ve played that never crashed on my laptop.
I’ve tried Perisno and it never worked out - but PoP will always work.
Yeah, PoP is fairly stable, that's a bonus for sure. But having no issues with Perisno, I definitely enjoy it more.
A little correction here: In the name of Jerusalem, Light & Darkness, 16th Century are also all made by Chinese modders.
I agree with Laigle... it needs more work! I don't really have any favourite mods but I think the rising sun was a mod I spent a lot of time
Phantasy Calradia quite fun to play, not for serious gameplay.
Personally I love Perisno and Gekokujo, its fun and lots of content in the mod.
I CANT STOP I HAVE LIKE 10 SAVE FILES I SHOULD FINISH BUT I CANT I JUST WANT TO PLAY SO MANY DIFFRENT ONES
Like you my friend, I love story-driven mods. Anything with a good story i'll play for hours at a time. Good list!
Perfectttt
12:50 he forgot to mention how painfully often between empires crashes.
My experience was fairly stable though, I don't even remember it crashing.
Ah 1257 AD. I remember knocking the Pope unconscious in Italy.
I thought for sure the third ages would make it. I’ll check out perisno.
damn, I think the last days of the third age is my number one favourite mod, except native and napoleanic wars it's the one I have the most hours in. Interesting it was so low on your list, makes me think I could give the others down there a go.
Well like i said, it can easily be one of the best mods for lotr fans. Not being a fan myself, its main appeal is lost on me.
Definitely try the other ones though.
@@TerryDuke I'm considering the warhammer mod since I'm a big fan of warhammer total war, and that map was looking beautiful.
I love the mod “Aut Caesar Aut Nihil” I have played and stil played that mod. I don’t know how many hours I have spent on this mod.
Who is the better GoT mod ? A clash of king or A World of ice and fire ?
So, I've been looking for a comprehensive list of Warband mods that lists them all in quality, so that I can start at some of the lesser known/lesser quality ones, and work my way up to some of the best, but I couldn't find a good one anywhere... SO, I'll be using your video as my play order!
I have many other mod videos which go over the mods mentioned here a bit more extensively.
That said, you've got a lot of mods ahead of you. Have fun! :P
Prophesy of Pendor should really be up there. I understand that it’s personal preference, but it’s by far the most polished mod out there.
Polished isn't necessarily good. It's one of my least favorite mods because they made a lot of decisions that just make it kind of boring and slow
Wow, top 10! Thank you!
Yeah, unfortunately crashes are an issue due to the many materials/textures. I hope to reduce them in the future, but I fear they will never truly go away
I figured. Still, really enjoyed it! Keep it up!
Is there any mods that you can respawn after die in battle, or maybe control another troop?
1257 AD and Diplomacy Litdum Reloaded both had the ability to take control of a random unit once you're killed.
The Skyrim Civil war mod is like.. unobtainable these days... a golden relic if you will..
true, can't find it anywhere
@@user-pk8nf3ke6l I've looked.. I think people privately trade it on Discord and reddit but you'd have to search really hard in the message boards etc.. lol If you find it lmk and vice versa! 😂😂
Really enjoyed your video my dude. You seem like a really nice guy, very honest 👏
Well thank you! Appreciate it 🙂
For me the best mod is AD 1200 ,but its removed. I have played for 1000 hours on it
457AD is my #1 mod atm worth to check it out

6th: Prophecy of Pendor
5th: L'Aigle
4th: Gekokujo
3rd: A Clash of Kings
2nd: Last Days of the Third Age
1st: Perisno

You're welcome! Enjoy 😄
Hey, I just got the 16th Century mod after watching this video, I was hoping to play as an aztec but I don't see it as a starting option, any advice?
It's not a starting option, but i meant you can travel to the aztec, buy their gear, join their faction.
That said, one issue with the mod is in fact, buying culture gear. Often markets sell mostly native gear and culture gear is rare.
any tips on installing mods
the evlat mod takes place after the light and darkness mod. the stories are connected as far as i know

I never liked to much fantasy in my games so for me 1417 was defiantly my favorite the wse is my favorite thing ever
As a newcomer to the series is it worth buying warband if you can't afford bannerlord right now?
Absolutely! While in theory, bannerlord is far more ambitious, bigger and on a larger scale, warband has mods that took years to develop! Which also means bannerlord mods on a much larger scale will also take a long time from now to come out.
So meanwhile, warband on sale on steam will only be a few dollars, and all mods mentionned in this video are free. So totally worth it!
bannerpage is a great native++++++ mod
Some big mods that you missed are "Honor & Glory" and "Chronicles of Might and Magic"
Like I said, there will always be more mods to discover!
