very nice, i was worried my stop was too orange but this video was a great aide in easing my woes and informing me , very simple but im such a worry wart espesally when it comes to the dark room lol thanks anyways haha have a good day.
Thanks Nico - keep them coming, you've been on a fast pace this year!
Thanks! Wait for the Sunday reveal...
Great resource Nico. I wish I had of been able to see this a year ago! I got burnt for the first dozen or so rolls of film I developed when I didn’t realise this stop bath was meant to be diluted 1:60 and I used it undiluted!! I couldn’t figure out why my 120 negatives were not quit flat, but surprisingly they weren’t too bad. Finally, when I developed some 135 triX and it curled into a tube did I realise something was definitively screwy. I then went through all my chemical technical sheets online and then realised the stop bath issue. I wish Kodak had of made it clearer on the front label that more instructions were provided underneath! Live and learn😊
Thanks Gino, Im glad you didn't give up. Yeah the stop bath is not clear at all.
So nice of them to just include the calculation for you. How does it smell? I can’t use Ilfostop in my unventilated bathroom because it makes the room _spin_ after a while.
Havent noticed a bad smell in general. But i have some ventilation in my darkroom.
How do you know when it's time to replace stop or fix chemistry?
Usually most brands have a X amount listed on the pdf. I do it by batches of 8 rolls or so to not push too much.
I peeled my label there is only warning labels underneath. Thaks for the video.
Ohh, thats sad, maybe they have removed it in the new version of the HC-110. If needed you can google HC-110 pdf and find it all there.
I just wrote down what you said. All good.
I saw it was for the stop chemical. So do the same per each chemical you need info. Kodak has changed the supply of some chemicals so its good to research a bit before.
Ok yeah sounds good, will do. Thank you for your guidance, and thanks again for making these videos.
The hyper camera in the back? Is a review in the works?
Good eye...
I have used just water since I watched some recommendations online, no problems.
Water works fine. I use stop as I heard it help extend the fixer life.
@@NicosPhotographyShow Good point
Its cheap enough it doesnt really hurt to use.
Is this for stop bath for film or paper?
Can be used for one or the other. Just dont mix the uses. Paper and film stop should be used exclusively for one purpose. But the chemicals are the same.
Am I the last person on the planet who didn’t know the cap was made to puncture the foil on the bottle? How have I survived 54 years without knowing this?
Don't feel bad, I guess am the second Wow!!, I had no freaking idea. 🤣
For most of your 54 years, the Kodak bottle had a plain cap, not the one shown here.
I learned it with toothpaste, then brought tha knowledge to the darkroom ;)
Maybe its a European thing, as now most Kodak stuff is made by Tetenal (or New Tetenal).
I can’t stand Kodak indicator stop, it smells horrible and burns my eyes and skin. Ilfostop is much kinder and eco pro or water is ideal IMO. Also the heavy acid in this stop bath is no good if you have well water and a septic system
