The VA fight is taking a toll. Relationships, work, personal enjoyment. I swear interacting with them has made everything worse. I understand now why 22 a day is a thing. Be they say without saying, that they want you to check yourself out and not be a burden to them anymore.

Thank you for doing this for us VETs. I have some issues with anxiety and over time has gotten worse. I really dont do well in groups, I limit my activities and it has caused some issues with my family. We recently went to sea world and just being around all those people really made me feel angry and uneasy. I had an episode several years back that caused me to have some pretty bad side effects, heavy breathing, heightened feeling of aggression and some tunnel vision feel. My wonderful wife was able to take me away and to an area away from the situation and helped me regain my composure. Its cut plenty of social functions and gatherings over the years.

You explain my experience perfectly. I also cannot stand being in a public place like a restaurant where everyone is talking creating a roar in my ears and mind that I find difficult to bear and I just want to leave.

Excellent information, interesting that Nick's representationof the VA's position differs with my personal expereinces. Social Security has deterimined that I am disabled, yet the VA seems to consider that my disability is isolated to the physical injury and that there is no relationship between my emotions, and my condition. So much for policy. The most unfortunate decision, I have been left with is seeking legal representation, I volunteered to serve this country, and 45 year ago they did the same thing. Yes, my injury started in 1975, and the records are there, but I just can't seem to get them from National Archrives. I can't comprehend why things are so difficult, the CFR is fairly clear, if I did not satisfy the criteria I would drop it. It is not a money issue, it is a matter of INTEGRIGTY. I may never overcome the obstacle I face, at least there is a way otehrs can find help. Thank you.

@@tommarinevet Yes, Tom. I started doing that through my primary care doctor, and he put me with a sleep apnea clinic that falsified the test. After that, I spoke to him about a few more items that are secondary, and he called me a liar and "full of bullshit." Lucky for me, (and still unbeknownst to him) I had my second phone recording audio and I got it all on "tape."
This month, I mentioned to him that he called me full of bullshit (and that he called me a liar) on my telephone primary care call with him (I'm stuck at my house in Mexico and can't come back to the USA), and he got irate. He said he "vehemently denies" ever calling me a liar. I still did not tell him that I have it all on recorded audio, but I said I've lost confidence in my primary care doctor. He said I could change doctors if I wanted to.
He made a statement about my not going to a second sleep apnea doctor that he had set me up to go to for another test, but I didn't receive the letter until after the appointment was supposed to happen. He said, "Are you refusing treatment by the VA?" That sounded like a threat.
I told him, "First, I didn't get the letter until after the appointment. Secondly, *I CHOOSE my doctors, I choose who I see. You don't just make an appointment for me and expect me to jump. It's my decision, my body, my life.*
Man did he back down after that, and he tried being sweet with me, like he does when he screws up and gets overbearing with me.
He knows about the VA director in another state who openly told a number of people she was going to have me killed and I was warned by my friend who worked in her office. Two months later, they tried to stop my heart in a procedure, and that doctor was very abusive toward me, showing great anger. The director almost went to prison.
I had to get away from that hotspot because she really tried to have me killed more than once.
The reason I've stayed with this primary care doctor as long as I have us because he believes in natural medicine. But jumping on board the old "VA hatred of veterans" train, is uncalled for. I started recording my visits a while ago when I saw how unreasonably vindictive they were with impunity.
And I believe that's why I got the disability rating I deserve. But I have a number of secondary conditions and now they want to start f&$king with me again. I'm covering my bases.

      @tommarinevet Před 4 lety +1

@@MissionaryInMexico What is your current service connected rate %? it sounds you need to go over all your decisions by the VBA and put a strategy on how to increase your disability rate. I would fuck with the VHA doctors too much most are morons and won't help you. If you need current diagnosis of the claims you will file go to outside doctors. Ypu really do have to go to VA doctors unless you want to..this is not refusing, it's your choice. But you have to go get a physical at least once a year at a VA hospital or clinic.
When you go to VHA or VA hospitals for treatment just tell your doc what your medical issues are and let them treat you..no talk about your rate of disability. Your beef is with the VBA or the VA benefits Admin..these two are not the same. File claims with current diagnosis on what you are claiming and let the process go thru.
If a doc at the VHA treat you bad by all means go and complain at the veterans complaint area of that VA facility and then ask to be assigned to another doc. Being their done that. I see VA docs as tools for my own disability means and treatment when necessary. I use outside docs for years and I know the VA don't like it but again that's their problem. I am 100% P&T and still outside health insurance. Now days thanks to President Trump VA pays for my outside docs through the Community Care program.
Don't let these idiot push you around. do your research and check out veteran friendly websites ie...TheJarheadPerspective.com there is a lot of info out there to help veterans

My husband was stationed at Ft. McClellan and lived in the "barrack like" homes in Anniston Army Depot which has been on National news as being the top multi chemical dumping grounds in the USA. His final year of us living there (1987) his mental and physical health began. We did not know they were the dumping grounds of all chemicals used since WW-2. He has had every joint in his body attacked including nine surgeries, nervous breakdown requiring hospitalization. Lately he is seeing a hemotologist. We are also having a difficult time getting his records. Can anyone give us advice?

Those are both rated as mental conditions so claiming insomnia secondary to depression isn't likely to increase your rating especially since it symptom of depression. The VA wont combine the ratings either because it's pyramiding.

Excellent video! I have a question. For background, I filed a claim for Claustrophobia in 2011. I was denied in 2015 and appealed via a NOD. Also in 2015, I had a C&P exam at the VA Hospital in Baltimore, MD and was diagnosed with Claustrophobia and Agoraphobia with panic attacks. I was recently denied again in March 2020 and the rater stated that the C&P examiner opined that I have a diagnosis of Claustrophobia and Agoraphobia and listed this as a Favorable Finding on the rating decision. I filled a Higher Level Review with an informal conference in April 2020. My argument is that I submitted an affidavit from Allstate Insurance Company with their letterhead, confirming that I was in an motor vehicle accident on a specific date, location and policy number. The accident took place while I was on active duty service. The rating decision did not reference the Allstate affidavit nor was it listed in the evidence section. The affidavit is in my C-file.
My question is would this constitute a CUE due to the fact the C&P examiner addressed and noted the Allstate affidavit in my examination? Thank you and I love your videos.
