Sk8shades - Sunglasses from old Skateboards

Sk8 Shades are made from used skateboards collected throughout South Africa. All moulds, templates and tooling is made in-house using basic tools, woodworking machinery and a few Franken-tools made up from various pawn-shop finds. The Cross-Layered core, their signature design feature, was first thought of as a way to strengthen the veneers as they do with standard plywood. The glue used in the laminating process is an environmentally friendly water-based water-resistant product with low VOC's. All waste is disposed of responsibly.
