cheers for the comment, unfortunatley since we last visited someone has been and stole half the tiles off the roof of the clock tower, when we left we ran into someone roaming the floors looking for copper, it's a shame
No need to have knocked this strong old building down , could and should have been converted for housing , much better than the ridiculous buildings there now .
Good video and pics. Also great job on being adventurous, looked kind of dangerous. Its a shame no one could get the clock movement and dials moved out, but the old clocks just seem to be going to the wayside. You at least documented what you could. Also if you would like to see this same movement in action, look at my youtube channel. It is a John Smith and Sons turret clock movement. Many parts were missing off the one at the Metal Box Co. Thanks for sharing.
I love looking at stuff like this cos i use a wheelchair and cannot get to areas like this, as for the thieves and vandals its a pitty they dont fall off the top no one would miss them.
Possibly a VPS alarm, remotely controlled, floor fixed, reporting to a central control room alerting an on duty/on site person to attend and reset the alarm, make checks etc.Very noisy!
thanks for your comment i will check oput your channel, hope they atlkeast preserve something of the old clock.

@@muckle8 100%, such a shame to see our history being destroyed
Excellent.
I didn't know it had bells.
Would have made awsome flats, yet another historic building gone.
