i got the chance to ride the xdiavel s on a test day here in switzerland. what a beast of a bike, there's so much difference when you put it in sport mode, especially on the highway. it goes shiiiiiit crazy fast... overtaking is a piece of cake!

It's always fun to do demo bikes. I did a review on one of these a few months ago and the self canceling turn signals were my favorite.

I test rode one of these a little while back. I got the fancy one though 🙄 got the termignoni exhaust and such. I was super impressed with how nimble and flick able it was.
I rode a xdiavel a few days ago and absolutely loved it! Got 1 hour drive alone and on own terms. So beautifull! First stock bike where the mirrors were usefull.
BUT! I must agree that you arc your back way to mutch and need to body-correct yourself often.
I like the way you did the review. It wasn't doggin on everything that you hated about the bike but more of a positive side of it!!! Thanks for sharing Walterrific!!!

I also did a review on that bike... did they let you ride it in sport mode? Finding the foot pegs on that thing was constant work lol... lots of torque!
new mirrors, remove the back seat rest, replace license plate and put it somewhere else, and new exhaust and it would be a sweet looking hog.

Cool video! Had a chance to try the bike myself, the acceleration is definitely a lot faster than any traditional American cruiser. But the bike handles somehow strange, at very low speed the turning radius is huge, because of the long wheelbase(over 1.6m) and 30 degree rake. At speed, it turns very light and quickly, but in the turn, it feels strange because the 240mm rear tire, the contact patch is far away from the bike's center line. The launch control is more a launch assist, you release the clutch progressively, without practice, launch control can be slower than "manual" start. With that much power underneath you, it's scary to release the clutch at full throttle and over 9k rpm. The foot pegs are high off the ground, to give that 40 degree lean angle, but for me it's too high, and too far forward. It could be a better bike, or better cruiser, if, the wheel base is shorter, the rake is smaller, the rear tire is 200mm, and the rider triangle is more neutral, less cruiser-ish. Looks awesome though. Everyone I meet says, that's a sexy bike!

Just out of curiosity is that how test rides are done in the U.S (as a group) or can you take the bike out on your own?
This was a demo ride. Demo rides are done as a group on demo days that are pretty rare. Plus it's all about testing the new product, not about buying. Test rides are done by yourself if the dealer will even let you and that's only if you're about to buy. At least that's the way I see it all.
Ok thanks. Didn't know the correct word for that type of ride. Over here you get to go out on your own on a demo day. Then again the community is much smaller so waiting for a decent size group to be ready would take ages.
Went to one demo event and I was probably the only one there for about an hour.

I have a Honda Varadero 125 from 2004 and it's a gorgeous bike! I've ridden the YZF, RC, CBR, RS4 and the WR before and I have to say that I'd get either a CBR or a WR if I was you ;)
If you want a cruiser look at honda shadow 125. I ride a cb125f and Iam really happy about it. My bike just makes fun and is perfect for the city.

the mirrors on some cruisers tend to be a lot better than sports bikes, i have fantastic rear view on my cruiser, cant see shit on my sports.
