  • Norway 2023 # 5 Hamar to Alesund to Stavanger / Pipistrel Virus SW HD 1080p
The first leg of today’s flight crossed Norway westbound: Hamar to Alesund. The weather was fabulous and calm: the air pressure difference between airports 400km apart was only 1 hectopascal. The second leg was due south to Stavanger, a beautiful flight along the rocky coastline. For this second leg, there is sadly no footage from the wing camera.
    ---------------------------------
Every year a small group of pilots from different countries meet to fly to where the weather is good.
This year we were 11 pilots in 6 planes. The six planes were:
    2x Pipistrel Virus SW,
    1 Piper PA28 Warrior , and
3x Sling 4, the first three of these beautiful homebuilts in the UK
Hitesh and Torsten are the founders of the group. This year’s participants were Peter, Rajendra, Paul, Trevor, Zaighum, Dean, Graham, Akosh, and Filip. Junior was a passenger until Olso where he took a commercial flight home.
Every day different options are discussed and mulled over as the weather and pilots' desires evolve. At the end Hitesh decides what will be on the program for the next day. Unexpected routes, interesting encounters, beautiful places and good meals are the result.

Ongelofelijk mooi !!!

Very nicely done video. I keep fighting with my insta360 One X2 camera too.... When I fly, I have no time to babysit, I simply want to hit record before take-off and stop after landing.

Thanks and exactly my thoughts. All the settings and connection (with the power bank) must be really right for the camera wing. But if and when it all works (and keeps working, even 4hours long) the quality of the footage is super.

@@filiplowette7003 I contacted tech support to have them put in some diagnostics in a simple text file, to log why camera turns off. They said 'great idea', that was a year ago, no such feature till now. I had the camera overheat, undercool, battery empty, powerbank turn off, for unclear reasons record for one hour and stop. When it records it is great - but the when has a lot of hooks. I guess most vloggers record selfies for 60 seconds and never hit limits like you and I do.

@@ronaldgadget Thanks Ronald. There is one reason for turning off that I don’t see on your list (and that took me quite a while to get): the SD Card. Even when you empty the SD card before every flight, file space may not be available for the fast writing required in 5.7K 30fps. Sometimes it recorder for even just 9 minutes and stopped for no apparent reason. So what I do since that is also reformat my card before every flight. That takes less than a minute, and makes the card factory fresh again. No problem on that point ever since.

@@filiplowette7003 Ohh.. Thanks Filip - that is a nasty reason. I will do that from now on!
