Sobble's limbs from the jump were just thin, little noodles, like most real chameleons. It's limbs are also pretty small looking so that was probably I hint that they wouldn't get much more emphasis going forward.
And this is totally just my opinion but I think Inteleon's slim build was counterbalanced really well by its large head fin and ginormous tail, body parts on Sobble that were clearly much more emphasized from the get go. This wouldn't be the first time the a pokémon has done this either with the prime example that comes to mind being Pheromosa from just a generation ago.

Ill be honest, the Sobble and Drizzile one where their final evo would be based on Shakespeare makes literally no sense to me. It MIGHT work as a HUGE stretch, but Inteleon makes a lot more sense than you realize. The whole line is based on the concept of gaining ones confidence. Sobble is scared of everything and can turn invisible to escape danger, and its tears can discourage anything from even going near it. Drizzile is yes the emo stage. But you know what most teenagers have in common? They start questioning themselves, trying and sometimes failing to find out who they are and what they want to do in life, ultimately hitting their self esteem HARD. The anime also explains this, as when Gohs Sobble evolved, it was disappointed that it didnt become an Inteleon, its idol. That could be the case in the games too. Theyre disappointed that they didnt become what they wanted, and became all mopey and depressed and eventually embraced its inner emo to hide its dwindling self confidence. As soon as it becomes Inteleon though, all that lost confidence comes roaring back as it learns its one of the best shots in the world and its still edgy to boot. It finally became its idol, the one it looked up to as a Sobble, and the one they mightve lost hope in becoming as Drizzile. Now, its just as good if not better than its very own idol. Its not just based on James Bond, the entire line is held together very strongly by the concept of self confidence and how it can fluctuate all throughout someones life. Sobble just goes through it much harder than some may realize

Okay, so I now have a theory about the Sobble evolution line; what if the Shakespeare evo was the original final evolution stage for the line, and the British spy motif we get in the current evolution of the line came later during a transitional period to the modern era. Now, hear me out a little; I need to do a little build-up. First, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one to notice the final stage for all the Galar starters are a mono-element, which is a bit weird when you consider almost all the starter evolutions up to this point, to my understanding, have been dual typed, the only other mon-element final stage evo I'm aware of prior to the Galar region is all the way back in Gen 1 with Blastoise. Still, Charizard and Venusaur as the final stages of their lines were/are dual typed, which makes Blastoise the odd one out in its own triad when it comes to the starters; but then Gen 8 with Galar came along, and all the final stages of the lines were mon-element, which is a little jarring when you consider how the final stages for starters were dual typed for most of the series run for Pokemon.
If/when the Galar region gets a treatment similar to Legends Arceus and the Sinnoh region, what if we get to see all the starters for Galar be dual typed for their final evolutions? And instead of Inteleon, we get that Shakespeare evolution instead, and the stage is either a Water/Psychic (to reference the mental aspect of plays in both their writing and execution) or Water/Ghost (to reference the "Spirit" of Theater). At the same time, the Grooky and Scorbunny lines also get to show off their own dual typing structure as well. And it would be made all the more impactful by putting the setting of that game at the dawn of the Industrial Age in early Galar, and just like Legends Arceus, the region isn't quite named Galar yet but has a name that evokes a much earlier time and feel for the region. While music is primarily used for entertainment purposes in our modern era, it had a much different purpose way back when; in particular, drums were used as a means of communicating over long distances, with different beats, rhythms, and sound combinations playing a part in the messages being sent out, the advent of the Telegraph, and later radio and telephone diminished the need for such means of communication. However, there are probably some people today that still keep up the practice as a sort of living archeology; Rillaboom could keep the core aspect of its drums in this ancient format but still have a dramatically different look in addition to its own type combo distinct to this earlier time before the advent of music as we know it now. Sports have evolved over the years, from practices in our time as Hunter-Gatherers all the way up to the social spectacle they are today. And having having Scorbunnies final stage for this historical era be something very different than the modern iteration while also being a distinct type combination could be interesting to see. So, the only real existing final stage of the 3 would be Rillaboom but in a dramatically different format.
But with all that, everyone would have the questions of why these Pokemon drastically changed on their way to the modern era. What is that prompted these changes and why? But one of the biggest questions would be the question of why these Pokemon when from being dual typed to mono-typed?

There actually was a time that Nebby (when he was fully evolved but I don’t know how to spell it) took Ash and Pikachu through an ultra wormhole at the end of the series, and we didn’t get to see where he went. It could be possible that Ash went into the game timeline, and then the people there figured out how to send him back. And since time definitely runs differently there, it was only around half an hour in his universe, but in the games it could have been years. Also thanks for pointing out the Ash and Pikachu Easter egg!!!!!

    My opinion on each theory:
    1) The sobble theory makes a lot of sense. I hate inteleon partially because it doesn't make sense with the sobble line. It feels like that GF wanted a spy pokemon but were too late in development so they put it with the starters, similar to Blastoise not being the evolution of wartortle originally in gen1.
    2) A bit farfetched but could be interesting. I really do hope we get that shellder evo that looks like the one in slowbro's tail one day.
    3) I always thought that Maylene was going to be flying gym leader, but got changed into a fighting leader to promote lucario.
    4) 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂

2:30 You forgot to mention in the Sobble part one of the most obvious things should a Shakespeare evolution for Sobble was made. The masks of comedy and tragedy are synonymous with theater, with Shakespeare writing plenty of plays that fit into both categories. Thus, if a crying lizard is going to evolve into something about theater and Shakespeare, they would have to at least reference the mask of tragedy. But there's more. Imagine if the evolution had an actual mask, but one that represents comedy rather than tragedy which the Pokemon uses to hide their sorrow because the world only likes happy people and Pokemon. (Wow, that got real and dark.) Maybe they could switch between the two masks instead? Seems a bit complex for a starter, but it would be cool.

"Inteleon doesn't fit into the line at all" I mean... I'm pretty sure I remember some theories before the games came out that Sobble might evolve into a spy-themed Pokemon, primarily because of its ability to turn invisible, seemingly being based on a Chameleon and all, and I think the crying also played into it, like, crocodile-tears. Anyways, I feel like most of this is copium due to people not liking how Inteleon turned out.
The problem with the Shellder-theory is that it's completely contradicted by the games, Shellder still evolves into Cloyster in Galar, and Ashs english speech in the anime could simply be like "oh, he is so smart and fancy, he uses a completely different language", since english is generally considered kinda hard to learn for many native Japanese speakers.
Or Maylene simply visits the same hair-saloon as all those bird keepers...
I see nothing that suggests that Ash is a Faller, and it not simply being his game-world counterpart, like how all the gymleaders also exist in the anime, or some of the game-protagonists also existing as their independent selves in the anime.
The last one actually sounds possible.

S\M Ash is another Ash the same as ours but from a different multiverse. Just as Journeys Ash is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT Ash from a different multiverse, which actually further solidifies the theory. We've got Phantom of the Opera with Drizzile, who I've seen depicted with a half-mask to cover his deformed face, which is represented by half of Drizzile's face being covered by his edgy hair over eye thing
Finally, Intelleon represents movies, with a very popular movie character being James Bond, a British super spy, who unlike the others aren't about tragedies but just being and so no longer have the teardrop markings on their eyes.

I came up with one of these theories while playing through Sword and Shield. They reference that Kabu was originally from Kanto before he moved to Galar, and I thought given his advanced age it would be cool for him to have been a gym leader at some point before the Kanto games take place. Then I remembered that Kanto's gyms operate on a system where a leader can actually lose their gym If some other leader beats them, like what Sabrina did with the fighting Dojo. I thought it would be really funny if Kabu had been the original Cerulean city gym leader before getting ousted by Misty, and he was in so much shame from losing his gym to a child that he just packed up and left the region

That last one could work if its more because of cryptomnesia, having an idea that you actually got before but think is original. Specifically they designed Tangela unintentionally based on the Fry Kids. They didn't actively think "oh, let's make a Pokemon based on these McDonalds mascots", but came up with the design from a different idea or a prompt for a Pokemon design, subconsciously basing it on those mascots. Its a common thing to happen, where someone comes up with a creative idea, thinking its fully original, only to later see something they already knew about that is the exact same idea, then realizing it was their inspiration and they just didn't fully remember.
Otherwise, I don't think they would intentionally design a Pokemon based on the Fry Kids that looks so similar but having distinct differences and do many other, more obvious potential inspirations, ones that come from places we've seen them take inspiration from elsewhere, such as mythology from around the world. And given the original English name was "Meduza", I think Medusa is more likely.
Its also less likely to be intentional when the McDonald's mascots were in use in various ways through the early 2000's, and they wouldn't have wanted any issues with McDonald's lawsuits. But unintentional design wouldn't have been an issue.
Also, if it was based on childhood memories, they probably would have made more references to the original "Gobblin" name, since in this scenario, that's what they would have grown up with.

I disagree. While Inteleon looks horrendous, it does fit with the theme of Sobble. Sobble is obviously the shy child and Drizile is the unsocial teen. Inteleon is meant to be the now confident grown up. This also fits with Sobble having the ability to turn invisible and Inteleon being a spy. Sobbles Pokédex number is even 007! One of my own personal theories is that Lance is from Alola. There’s a lot of Kanto connections and Easter eggs in Alola anyway, but my “evidence” is that Kukui specifically references Lance in the game. Also, if I’m remembering correctly, there is no dragon-type “boss battle” in sun and moon, while most of the other types have one (trial captains/elite four). Also, the dragon-type totem Pokémon is the last/“hardest” one to face. My idea is that Lance trained in the tough environment of the canyon with dragon types and, after conquering that, wanted to become stronger, so he went to Kanto and became the toughest elite four member/champion (in gen 2). Could also explain why only he could master dragons in Kanto.

Theory 2 - This is the best theory in the video. I think this one kinda could be true, but I also don't know the full context to the anime thing, so idk...
Theory 3 - I think the hair is just s reused asset, so no to that theory.
