  • In this video I will talk you through each step required to change a headlight bulb on a Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204 Chassis) with the HID Xenon D1S type bulb (lamp) fitted. These bulbs have an average lifespan of around 8 years and usually start to show symptoms before they fail, sometimes they can start to flash but most commonly they start to show a reddish/purple tinge whilst significantly reducing they're light output.

    Yup, thanks, helped me out. The bulb was really tight to turn anti-clockwise to get out, I thought I was going to break something but your tutorial confirmed it was the right thing to do. Bulbs replaced and good to go.

    Nice one Ryan, certainly the same process for an Australian W204 C63.
    Have you tried to change the halogen H7 turning lamps - I think they are in the inboard port next to the main beam? They seem quite fiddly to align the tabs on the base. I'm looking to upgrade from HID mains and halogen turning lamps to their LED equivalent which are quite inexpensive and less delicate than the original globes

    Can you make a video how you change the C led light & turn signal strip they are not working on my car i have OEM lights thanks

    • @RyansWorkshop
      @RyansWorkshop  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately the led strip and turn signal are integrated into the light and cannot be changed separately, it would require changing the whole unit as one piece.

    Do we need to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery ?

    • @RyansWorkshop
      @RyansWorkshop  Před 2 lety +1

      No, there's no need to disconnect anything from the battery for a bulb change, it could actually cause more problems than anything else.

    I tried to replace my bulbs and neither are working. Initially one of them turned red so I decided to change both now neither working any idea why and do they have to be branded bulbs or after market ok
