- In this video I will talk you through each step required to change a headlight bulb on a Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204 Chassis) with the HID Xenon D1S type bulb (lamp) fitted. These bulbs have an average lifespan of around 8 years and usually start to show symptoms before they fail, sometimes they can start to flash but most commonly they start to show a reddish/purple tinge whilst significantly reducing they're light output.

Yup, thanks, helped me out. The bulb was really tight to turn anti-clockwise to get out, I thought I was going to break something but your tutorial confirmed it was the right thing to do. Bulbs replaced and good to go.
Glad I could help
Thank you Ryan!
Also, thank you for the lenght of the video, no music, no pointless ranting, straight to the point. Good stuff.
Thanks 👍
Thanks, it was very helpfull
Glad I could help
Thx Ryan, a straightforward tip, easy to do now.
Thx again
Happy I could help
Very helpful video, Thanks a lot
Thank you, glad I could help
Thanks mate, the video was a massive help, an i an a very experienced mechanic, lol
You're welcome
This is easy.Tell us how to change the Η7behind..........
Nice one Ryan, certainly the same process for an Australian W204 C63.
Have you tried to change the halogen H7 turning lamps - I think they are in the inboard port next to the main beam? They seem quite fiddly to align the tabs on the base. I'm looking to upgrade from HID mains and halogen turning lamps to their LED equivalent which are quite inexpensive and less delicate than the original globes
Thank you, and no I haven't had to change them yet.
hello, i have same your car year 2012 I changed the headlight but still not working, why?
Kindly Note : i tested light before installing and it's worked
Can you make a video how you change the C led light & turn signal strip they are not working on my car i have OEM lights thanks
Unfortunately the led strip and turn signal are integrated into the light and cannot be changed separately, it would require changing the whole unit as one piece.
Hi Ryan... I've got a c250 mercedes w204 do you know a way to have the C led on the headlights on the same time as the bottom drls?... I've watched the vid from flexx Alexander but think they are slightly different in the US. Any help pal would be much appreciated 👍👍👍
To be honest I wouldn't know how to do that on a mercedes, I specialise more with the Audi group vehicles, sorry I couldn't help
Do we need to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery ?
No, there's no need to disconnect anything from the battery for a bulb change, it could actually cause more problems than anything else.
I tried to replace my bulbs and neither are working. Initially one of them turned red so I decided to change both now neither working any idea why and do they have to be branded bulbs or after market ok
