I appreciate a lens review that does not compare it to another review. Like all those Viltrox 85mm reviews comparing it to the 90 Fuji! I believe a piece on a lens can also show how the uploader figured out the best way to use it with their samples. Car was a fun subject, but no '59 Caddy taillights???

thx for this review !! I´m getting my one 12mm MFT version in a few weeks and I will compare to my Samsung S22 Ultra in 1x lens! I did another comparison with another 7artisans 35mm 1.4 I have and I really see this cheaps lens stills performs in the high league. Only know that the S22 applies a lot og "layers" of IA automatically and makes look the caption better than a "simply shoot" in a Mirroless camera. Greetings from Buenos Aires , Argentina

I am looking to get a cheap wide angle lens for videography - mainly walkthrough videos for real estate. Do you think at wide aperture the quality would be sufficient? Videos would be 1080p on Fuji X-T3. I was searching for video samples of the lens, but there are not many out there...
Nice objective review. I am pleasantly surprised by the low level of distortion
This 12mm seems much better than the 7.5 fisheye one from the same manufacturer. Of course, that's somehow normal, but they're cheap ultrawides that could be fun to use for photos or vlogging style of video.

ordering this on wednesday!bought my big brother an Olympus 10mkii and I keep telling him that the kit lens he got is crap and mediocre at best!!!
the lens hood is built on it. When you put it on or take it off twist it from the lens hood
is it better if 7artisan 12mm stops down to only f16 vs f22 on some competing 12mm lenses?
The graph paper looks great but the sample photos seem dramatically distorted??
What camera do you use with this lens.

This video is very nice suggestive for the lens buyers. Am in confusion between Samyang 12mm vs 7artisans 12mm.
My expectations are relatively to photography and second preference for Videography so
Good sharpness
Less in weight
Good picture quality
Nice colour tones
Build quality and durability

I never tried the Samyang, but the company makes really good stuff. I've had their 85mm for canon and their 14mm for canon as well, I believe it was 14mm, either way, all my experience with Samyang has been superb from build quality to image quality. If you want a superior lens, I'd go with Samyang. If you don't mind the slightly lesser performance but to save a buck, go with the 7artisans. That's what I think.

You can buy filter adapter for kind of this lenses about $10 adapt to 77mm filter

I tested this lens with a7ii for shooting video I need to turn on crop mode of my full frame sensor it works ok but video quality is terrible not sharp at all but t still photo is useable.
Gotcha. I was using focus peeping with highlight functionality from the Fuji XT3. Not sure if it's just the a7II or if it was something else, but if you get good stills, you should be able to replicate. Let me know if you end up playing around with it more if you get any other results.

I was just working on a 35mm F2 from Asahi Pentax while for some votes. Do check out that video, but this seems to be a popular choice. I will work on this next.
Trust me that lens very good. My main go to lens for portraits.
I have watched several lens reviews on CZcams, why oh why do you guys use shiny surfaces for your Siemens stars. No way you can check focus on that!
