Did you realise your meat had turned 90* the fist time you lifted the lid? Must have had a couple of rats or cockroaches trying to move it out of there before you checked on it.

You don't need the oil. The purpose of scoring the meat is to allow the roast to self baste with the pork fat. I'd also put the salt on before putting it in the fridge.

Clean your Weber & got enough salt ? 🧂
For the perfect crackling, Boil a jug of hot water & poor over the pork, pat dry with a old tea towel, then rub oil in it & then salt, best one is sea salt you can find at any supermarket

Future reverence don't ever salt pork then oil on on it ... 😒 Season it prior and and all you need for crackling is high heat ... Pork is already salty... You want to get your skin doing the popping actually action and that will result in you crackling ... You'll get your roast on piping heat in the first hour ... If you don't have those popcorn marks on your pork in that time then stop what you are doing and listen to GOD lol... Take my advice or don't . You'll have thee juiciest pork if you do what I tell ya ...slow roast for a reason . .don't rush it

Why don't you f off! They get dirty you know if you use it!! I had to respray the lid on mine, it is so well used, it does not come off. It's not there for good looks. The only things you really need to clean are the grates, burner tube and the keep the cook box clear of fat or you might get a fire. Why are people so critical? Any way his roast looked good and he's happy with it.
