either pump the brakes a bunch with the truck off(easier), or drain the air tanks. in other words, yeah, you have to drain all the air

nine has a dump button for the air suspension, also drains air from the tanks. i installed a valve so i can release pressure if needed.

not exactly, it has an exhaust brake but its not great.
