Let's not talk about the elephants in the EV room:
    1) VW (and others) software that slowed down(stalled) the launch and even 2 years later is still incapable to perform over the over the air updates.
    2) Totally inadequate charging infrastructure both in the US and EU to make EV ownership viable.
    3) Not to mention the miles/kWh achieved by EU and US automakers is consistently 20% less then equivalent Tesla models. A fact rarely mentioned by the automotive press☹
Conclusion: Until legacy automakers propose competitive (performance and function) cars
the EV market will remain in flux and be dominated by "new comers"

EV batteries have an 8 year warranty. If took me 6 months to get VW to replace the battery on my 2015 e-Golf. Back then VW and others didn’t seem to think our battery longevity when they rushed initial EVs to market. If your EV is closing in on 8 years demand the dealer test the battery and provide objective results against the warranty terms. VW initially refused to test my car saying “there is no test”. Later they replaced the battery which showed $50,000 on the warranty invoice.

Why are hybrid junk cars sold and told they are good? A hybrid car is a disaster, an electric car and a petrol car in one body. Maintaining such a car is expensive. The history of hybrid cars begins in 1984, when they began to build experimental vehicles for the US Army. These cars did not have an internal combustion engine connected to the wheels. The diesel engine started the electric generator. The desire was to simplify the transmission mechanism of 8 wheeled vehicles. Significant savings were achieved. Cardan shafts weigh less than the electric motor at each wheel. The car became more reliable. Toyota chose a stupid method in 1997 when the power of the internal combustion engine was connected to the wheels by cardan shafts. Why is a gearbox necessary for a hybrid car? The Austrian company OBRIST built a hybrid car five years ago that is really economical. This car does not have a vibration-free with two crankshafts with high efficiency gasoline engine connected to the wheel structure.

Reason number 1 is that their cars are just plain ugly.
If you make beautiful car which handles well, people will make all sorts of excuses and cope with any number of issues as long as they enjoy to look at it , drive and smile at the idea of simply owning it.
When the car in question is aesthetically challenged and considered an appliance, a something that one must have then it all falls down on price, cost to run, features and reliability where VW fails spectacularly on all fronts.

VW EVs are shiet. They promised things they can never fullfill like software features now only available in new cars.
They fucked their customers with shit software.
