That “No Hurdling” rule needs to be changed. So if someone is coming in to hit you low near your knees or ankles, you’re basically telling the kid to just take the shot to your legs regardless? Just stupid.

Usually a kid's dad gets a great job in this district and their son just happens to be a potential college prospect. People who are successful look for the best schools that afford their children the chance to excel in all aspects from academics to sports and they buy a home in that part of town and raise their family. The private schools have no such rules and can recruit, and most coaches agree to not allow these schools to compete in the public school classifications for state honors as it is unfair. They do compete in their own system and are recognized by the state which is the way it should be. The UIL now allows public schools to play pre district games against private schools if they wish.

There's a saying in Hawai'i..."ROOTED not recruited". St louis and Kahuku in Hawai'i are known to bring in kids from all over the island and mainland. St Thomas is legitimately bringing kids in from Broward County 2nd largest county in the state of Florida. Look up De La Salle HS, a t team that Aquinas played and beat in a close game.
