    That old bolt action you got reminds me of the first gun I shot, old heavy wooden stock iron sight bolt action 22lr.

    Bought one a couple years ago. For the money this is a fantastic buy. Mine is is very very accurate and a pleasure to shoot. I do have a couple of the 25 round mags for it that are actually intended for the Mossberg 702 plinkster. If your looking for a an inexpensive .22 rifle that is accurate and has great features, then checkout the Rossi RS 22. You won't regret it.

    I have .223-5.56 and a 12 gauge and I must say this rifle is super fun to shoot! I’m so surprised at the way it perform! Weather it’s for youth or adult this thing is awesome!! And affordable! You can get rossi mags for this rs22! I give it 2 thumbs up and the one we have now is my brothers but I’m considering on getting one for my self! Only down fall is it is cheaply made so this gun does need lots of tender loving care and make sure, you don’t drop it! Beside that it shoots amazing out of the box! Great review man! Got mine for 139! He had it for 149 but took 10 off! I recommend this rifle but don’t drop it and throw it around if you want to keep it for a long time! Also find out the Rossi mag works best for this Rossi rs22 and it seems the feed ramp is different from other 22lr so other mags might give you a problem! As for optics I’ll go with a 3x or 4x zoom with a bi pod although it’s not heavy at all!!

    Excellent function, reliability & accuracy.

      @TheJimminiShow  Před 2 lety

      @@TheJimminiShow
      Your concern would be quite valid.
      My son who is 6’-2” feels it’s too small.
      I am a rather short feller, of just 5’-7” & I even find the rifle just a bit cramped.
      As I raise a rifle, I tend to lean slightly into the sights & I find my eye too close to the rear peep, since it is at the very rear of the receiver.
      So I added a scope & find that without a cantilever mount, I cannot get the scope quite far enough forward for my natural shooting posture.
      I could add to the butt stock. But I do like the rifle despite the adjustments I make to shoot it.

      @TheJimminiShow  Před 3 lety

      Not sure on the manufacturer Battle Creek as I've never messed with their stuff, but yes the 702-25 rounder does fit the Rossi as well. They are both made by the company blaze tech which if you dig long enough is owned by the same company that owns Taurus

      You are correct that Tairus owns Rossi, but the RS22 is built by Braztech and sold to both Mossberg and Rossi and sold with their name on them. Taurus nor Rossi actually builds this rifle. It is similar to how colt sells a 22 lr 1911 that is actually built by walther.

    Basically the Savage 64 .22 lr. I purchased years ago is all I really needed for range shooting. Although this Rossi does look very nice and concidering to possibly purchase. I'd definitely like to see a video of cleaning bolt, chamber, extraction and reassemble before I purchased. But, is it easy to do? My Savage is relatively easy but a few reassemble important parts are extremely useful when I do a full cleaning process otherwise it will malfunction with out being done properly, as I know. And accuracy and reliability is my other questions if you could simply explain, would be helpful also, thanks for basics review video.

    • @TheJimminiShow
      @TheJimminiShow  Před 4 lety +6

      I clean my firearms after every trip to the range. 22 varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some is dirtier than others. I want my guns clean at all times. But you are the one who decides when to clean it. If you're getting misfires and failure to eject, that's a good indicator.

  • @gcab985
    @gcab985 Před 3 lety +1

    Ha... At 5. 1 you say that you do not know anyone that keeps a rifle in a cardboard box. Well, I do. I have a 1966 Ruger 10-22 that I have kept in it's original box since I purchased it. It is like new. Although I now have a safe, I continue to keep it in the box rather than have it get knocked around in the safe. The Sears price tag on the box shows $54.5? (tag is misprinted and the last character is unreadable). The Rossi RS22 is a very tempting rifle though. I enjoyed your video and review of the rifle.

Glad you got a deal, but when you buy online, there are other costs to keep in mind. Of course some people are going to try to say they NEVER pay for transfers. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE A 'HOOKUP' TO NOT PAY TRANSFER FEES. And if you have a friend that has an FFL, that doesn't count.
