      If I’m not mistaken the ECM is under the dash on drivers side by the blend door actuator for the hvac.

    Do you not have to have the new pcm programmed? I am having a crank no start issue due to the fuel pump randomly not kicking on. I have a 2007 Rubicon and I have a used pcm from a 2010 wondering if I can just swap them out

    • @prycewilkins
      @prycewilkins  Před 4 lety +1

      Brywilbrywil mine was programmed for the seller. I gave them the vin number off my Jeep and they did their thing. I have had no issues so far. It might be you got a bad one or there may be another issue.

    I was just wondering how the programming works. Because I had to do this once before and they had to program my car key.

      brandy marsh i had no issues with that. When I purchased it i had to give them the VIN # and they programmed it.

    What was the issue with your jk ?
    Im having some problems with mine, and I think that its ECM

      my problem was i had a tuner that blanked out my pcm lol and the tuner crashed and did not work anymore. my gauges acted up check engine light kept coming on and sometimes it would go into like a limp mode. the only way to fix it was to put a new pcm in it. so i did and now i have a superchip trail dash 2 programmer that is awesome. what issues are you having with yours?

      Pryce,
      Mine is stalling at stops. The digital display goes to zero.
      The radio shuts off just before it occurs.
      The navigation also goes haywire at the odometer.
      Any thoughts.

    • @prycewilkins
      @prycewilkins  Před 4 lety

      Victor Jones if it was just stalling I would say check the cps ( crank position sensor) BUT since you are having other electrical issues with the stalling i say check electrical plug C105 I think is the one. It’s under the battery tray but can be accessed by removing the inner fender liner on front right. That plug is bad about getting loose and getting corroded. You can do a search on google to find that plug and maybe some better info . Hope this helps.

      All 4 o2 sensors went out on mines at once. Replaced it and still check engine light on. You think it could be the pcm?

    I have a superchips tuner on my current JK. With the new PCM replacement, would I need to unmarry the old PCM prior to installing the new PCM? Then reprogram the new PCM with the superchips tuner? The superchips is not the reason for swapping a new PCM by the way. Thanks.

    • @prycewilkins
      @prycewilkins  Před 4 lety +1

      that is a good question actually. i am honestly not sure on that situation i would think you would have to reprogram the new pcm to the tuner BUT i would contact superchips tech and ask them to be 100% sure.

    • @oDphanatic79
      @oDphanatic79 Před 4 lety +1

      What code were you getting to verify the PCM is bad? thanks.

    • @prycewilkins
      @prycewilkins  Před 4 lety +1

      oDphanatic79 for me I didn’t get a code i had to replace mine because of a Bully Dog gt tuner and my lack of keeping up with the flash drive that had the stock tune on it lol.

    • @oDphanatic79
      @oDphanatic79 Před 4 lety +1

      @@prycewilkins keeping up with the flash drive? you mean, maintaining the updates on the tuner?
      I'm just trying to pinpoint that my pcm is the issue before ordering a refurbished one. I'm getting P0300 & P2305 codes, and the jeep still starts but, it doesn't go over 40 mph. All my gauges work but, my check engine light keeps flashing. There's a heavy exhaust smell and it isn't smoking. I believe that is due to the misfire or the pcm putting the Jeep in reduced power mode? I already changed the plugs, wires, ignition coil, checked relays & fuses, cleaned the intake, checked the O2 sensors, checked the oil for discoloration but it's good, and double check the engine firing order. Any ideas? thanks.

    • @prycewilkins
      @prycewilkins  Před 4 lety +1

      oDphanatic79 yes on the old bully dog gt for jeep tuner you had to hook up to a laptop with a flash drive that came with the tuner and it would pull the stock tune from the jeep. I lost it lol so there was no way to put the stock tune back in when the bully dog died. It was cheaper to get a new pcm than take it to a dealer.
