Special thanks to my younger brother for the NFS footage of this video.

PC version of Porsche Unleashed is the most atmospheric and aesthetic NFS game ever. That beautiful maps, sound and music still make chills. If someone tweaked physics and rescaled maps to normal ratio - i'd play it with great pleasure even today.
And the 3D cockpit view! A feature that wouldn't return until Shift
But PC version is bad in one thing: the soundtrack, from the classic era to modern era they use the same music! In PS version each era has their own music.
have ypu tried gulliver?
@@HyperVanilo The PS1 version has better music and much better maps imo.
I don't remember it, but it would be cool if it worked in a opposite way.
The PC version of NFS Porsche Unleashed still has the best scenarios of NFS. Every track has a relaxing atmosphere mixed with the sporty Porsche driving
HOLA GUSTIN
Ah, I see you are a man of culture as well.
So Rachel had a Boxter before the 350z???😂😂😂
😂 LOL
wait a second xD
That took me a second to get lol. It's been so long. I was pretty young when I played NFSU2 as well.
@@lukemmurphy795 😂 I still play it today on my old PS2 XD
@@sandromiguel6061 It was my dad's friend's PS2 haha.
This was the best Need for speed. Love all the music, the upgrades of your car, the mystical feeling of the tracks. (NFS Porsche on PC that is)
I remember when I completed the "carrier mode" I just grabbed a random Porsche and cruisin in Cote d' Azur with traffic. Good old days. :)
Need for the Speed Porsche Unleashed is for me one of the best car games. You did not mentioned it but the factory driver missions are together with first mission of driver the peak of car gaming. I agree with you that EA and other major game companies have lost creativity and maybe what you call passion.
Last time I was this early, the NFS franchise was actually good.
For me last time I was this early, NFS was already crap
RaceCar218Driver so Payback?
DanLi MW2005?
@@illusion86ln mw2005 and underground 2 are the best in the nfs series
@@illusion86ln Yeah U2 and MW2005 are the best imo, but I still enjoyed Carbon & ProStreet. The new Hot Pursuit was alright, but I didn't finish it
9:00 I love that intro, it was my second PSOne game after F1 2000, I still have it !!! The police in the PS1 version was impossible to beat and the different era videos were great
Do NFS HP2 next! The physics in that game and the overall experience were absolutely amazing
Although the PS2 ,has the ultimate version of Hot Pursuit 2
@@aurelios69 the devs of the pc version of Porsche unleashed later worked on the ps2 version of the hot pursuit 2!
My windows 95 desktop barely ran this game in 2000
I remember when I watched the View Boxter video as a kid and loving it so much. Genuinely got me into drawing cars and showing them off to my friends and parents.
Another interesting game with many good ideas for the single player campaign was S.C.A.R.
S.T.AT.L.K.E.R
Man this game was so much fun back in the day! Thanks for taking be back to those times!
NFS Porsche
oh man I really wish you talked about the MUSIC, man. When NFS had original music, those were something else.
Yeah man
What do you mean by original? Original in 90's era?
yeeah, they had composers do music instead of licensed stuff
That intro is a thing of beauty
Loved Porsche Challenge as a kid, thought I was the only one to have played this game lol, brings back memories
Maaaan, i still have this game on my PC, imo one of the best NFS ever.
This was my first favourite game. Thanks
This was the first videogame I've ever played in my life (NFS Porsche)... I've always wanted a second version or remaster btw
nice presentation!need for speed Porsche was an awesome game!
MAN, I have a PC disc of that NFS laying around, possibly collecting dust. It's really enjoyable, just gorgeous tracks and Porsches all over the place. 5 y.o. me had good times playing it.
The Porsche Unleashed with Steering Wheel. Masterpiece.
The feeling when the 944 series of Porsche's in this game engine sounds are like buses ones in your city xD.
I enjoyed this game so much, memories!!
Memories... ^^ Porsche challenge didn't notice that anyone else know that game
One of my favorites in those PS1 days was Vanishing Point!!! Its still feels like pretty solid and enjoying handling model in terms of arcade racing. My best arcade memories.
I remember Porsche challenge. I played the demo that came with my Playstation. I couldn't remember the name until I saw this video. I played the heck out of this demo.
so good!
I can't wait for Underground video :)
You should add that we can download our own cars into the game since some cars are available but required to be downloaded. I.e GT2, 993. There is also the license school like mode where the player work as a tester and so on for Porsche with several rival
Used to play NFS Porsche Unleashed on PS1, it was refreshing when I was frustrated on GT2 (thx to save game glitch that wipe all ur garage).
The only thing I miss from most racing game franchise is the 928 and 959 that rarely make an official appearance. Both of them are monster in Golden Age evo mode. Also 917K is the best spinning and crashy boi thx to its torque
Man Nfs Porsche 2000 (Unleashed) was my first game ever and i still love it till this day
Gotta love NFS Porsche unleashed. One of the games I got hooked up on
the music is awesome
Loved the factory driver mode in this one
Porsche Challenge was my first game ever. I had hours of fun when I was 8-9. And I managed to beat the game. It was indeed a bit difficult at some point but after some practice I understood the algorythm of the shortcuts and beat the black Boxster.
Unfortunatly I haven't played NFS Porsche and Underground 1 & 2. Got to give it a go soon...
I loved Porsche Unleashed! Though on Windows 8 and newer, it is quite difficult to get controllers to work with it without fiddling with your USB ports.
I really miss the old days. I really loved the NFS franchise back in the days. I remember playing Porsche Unleashed and Hot Pursuit series (Need for Speed III & Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2) all day when I was a kid. I still think it a great game to current standards as well.
Need for Speed: Porsche it my favourite NfS game.
Seems like it still has best physics in an NfS game.
I tried to play the NFS with thb a wheel, (went pretty well actually, but the force feedback was incredibly strong and it doesn't have setting just on/off) and it was the very first game where I used HEEL AND TOE
You mean recently on windows 10? Which wheel was it?
@@Noukz37 Windows 8.1 and ACME STI Racing Wheel
Aw man you mentioned rain, but not snow and ice!!! That Alps mountain snowy icy part was always the worst for rear wheel drive 911s
NFS POSRSCHE was my favorite game in such days ❤️
this was the very first racing game I ever played!
AWESOME MUSIC 🥇
Played the shit out of NfS Porsche unleashed in early 2000's... Thank you for review!
Ford Racing 3 Maybe?
I think it has pretty good driving dynamics and graphics for 2004 game
NFS Porsche was the first racing game I ever played :)
Yes Need for speed Porsche Unleashed is a great game! Please show us more content of this game!
too bad that i was too young when i had PS one, there was a lot of brilliant games that time and i couldn't realise it
Damn someone actually remembered Porsche Challenge
How can you put a custom profile picture on NFS PU??? Very professional...
Arguably one of the best NFS made
I only played the Ps1 version of NFS Porsche, but still exciting
hey viper, could you make a part 3 of your racing games rating chart (the physics and graphics one) please?
Need for speed Porsche Unleashed? I love that game. Here's another suggestion NFS Hot Pursuit 2
Those characters are surprisingly detailed for a game that came out in '97 1:05, I know those are 'renderings' but they look like they could've been in GTA Online or something.
I will never forget the days I played NFS III - V, unless Alzheimer kicks in. Such a good memories. NFS 5 is a cause of my love towards Porsche. Music is awesome in both versions PS1 and PC.
i have the iso and the 4 cars installer today, maybe i could isntall and play again, i dedicated many hours in this game and play online in a few times with some friends! known this game in 2001 in the university and W98, until the professor of the computer room seen us and toke away the start of win98 and replace for Red Hat 7 (free and non paying edition in those years) THIS ROOM IS JUST FOR STUDING AND NOT FOR PLAYING!! says, but, a friend, a really geek man solve the problem for us and, in the nights, after everyone leave the campus, we going and pays some bocks to the councillor and play untill 11PM... what a good time dude!!
Greeting from Chile!
"Viper" on a Porsche license plate :P
NFS Porsche Unleashed for the PC is my favorite racing game of all time. Two great story modes, lots of tracks, plenty of features, natural progression, upgrades, and more. How did you get it to work on your PC? I’ve been trying to do that for ages!
I remember "Porsche Unleashed" version didn't work on my PC, but "Porsche 2000", thankfully, did.
I was so hyped for Porsche Challenge and played the Demo for hours. When I got the game I was so dissapointed about the small content . 😩
You're saying the early 2000's were the golden era and Porsche Unleashed started it, which I suppose it's somewhat true, but I grew up with REALLY good games like the original Driver: You Are The Wheelman, Monster Truck Madness 1 and 2, Midtown Madness 1 and 2 (which I don't remember when those came out), and of course, Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit.
Porsche Challenge was my first ever game and i fucking loved it
NFS Porsche Unleashed, the game where in-car tach, analog tach and the digital one show 3 different speeds :D
Wait...at about minute 13 of the video...Isn't the music present also in test drive unlimited 1?
You talk about Platinum mod for TDU?
Damn, i loved nfs porsche, was amazing
How'd you get the Porsche unleashed installer working? I couldn't get to it on Windows 10 with my install disc
Nfs pro street and Porchse unleashed are my favourite.
Can you make a video about Enthiusa? And i would be happy if you share on how to setup these emulators.
No emulator needed. On the desktop icon right click or in the installed game folder find file nfs.exe* (also right click): select Properties, then on the upper menu Compability and there activate "Run this program in compability mode for:"
and select - Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
And enjoy!
For smoother start you can also check the box in Privilege Level so computer will not prompt the "Run as Administrator" message.
* nfs.exe is more likely named nfspu.exe, or smth like that. Sorry, I can't check it now from my other computer which I keep in my garage and where the game is installed.
I'm waiting Test Drive Off-road 3 if you are going to make a video for retro videos. It was not very good but i enjoyed too much when i was a kid. :)
my childhood is here
Hell yeah! the greatest Porsche game ever made: NFS Porsche 2000 /Unleashed!
Ok, PC version is way better BUT it doesn't have the great soundtrack made by Thomas Colin & Emmanuel Lauvernier on PS1! It's always on my playlist on my smartphone ^^
Thats nice man! Classic and Golden era are so great!
NFS: Porsche 2000 is probably the main reason of my love for this manufacture. I loved driving with 356, such an amazing car. Sadly the game doesn't work on Windows 10. :(
There are a patches that allows game to work on Windows 7 and up to 10 made by game fans. There's an even a multiplayer lobby called IPLounge for NFS V And NFS High Stakes.
@@kazutonaruse9001where did you find the patches?
ahh.. old memories
Rachel in Porche challenge looks similar to Rachen in NFS Underground 2.
When im kid i play much this game in psx and unlocked a black porsche i remember :D
Does anyone know where you can download a version of nfs Porsche for a modern pc?
NFS Porsche(PC) - best physics in all NFS history
I cant install and run NFS PU in windows 10... anyone have a video or what I can do to run the game??
I'm from Spain and my nfs Porsche did not have those police chases. The only game mode I remember apart from evolution mode was the test driver mode (factory driver) where you start on Porsche company testing cars with specific mission. Besides that this game is a lot nostalgic for me, was my second nfs, first one was nfs 4 or road challenge. Remember going with a smile in my face to the shop to buy it and read the manual a few times in the way back to my home.
Was disappointed too when I did know EA did this game because they bought the license in exclusive from Porsche, the reason why other games had rufs. And I just wanted another similar game but with Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes or another brand, with another evolution mode showing us the first car till this days.
BTW is there any way to play this game with gamepad, and with triggers and sticks being functional? I'm asking because when I payed this game I didn't care about it because it was the norm on that age, but now I hate see the driver wheel and the car wheels turn full right and left that way XD no matter if I play cockpit or third I cant see that happening. Is stronger than me and probably the reason because I didn't touch the game since I finished long ago.
Man i played high stakes and porsche hardcore when was 5 and didn't realise porsche had a police chase mode LMFAO.
NFS Porsche ovvvvv beatifull
just two weeks ago installed it on Win10 system. Works like a charm (with some patches). sad thing - I remember it pretty and realistic on PC
5:52 This is a Mystic Peaks clone from NFS II
I am looking at a 20 year old game... Christ, it feels like yesterday.
Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed is, without a doubt, the best NFS game of all time. Its not even close.
How did you run it? Because it has a lot of problems with win10 compatibility options.
Nice video. But, i think that PC version has better graphics and physics but Evolution mode in PSX version was way better and funnier. The music, the menus, how the locations and cars changed through the years. I really loved it!
So interactive Track kinda like GRID 2 Liveroutes, amrite ?
For NFS game, I don't know but I like NFS Carbon more than MFS most wanted (2005). Maybe because the police car in Carbon is like paper, it's very fun to ram into them and see them fly everywhere and they do swarm the player..... a lot. Try getting on heat 5 and there will be like 10 cars on your tail plus a bunch of road block with spike.
Just yesterday i was bored and played underground 2 felt good
I had this game as a child! Loved it, but was not pretty good in it :D
Hahaha i love this Game. I played It the first time when i was 7-8. And i Just played it last week :)
Edit: talking about the Porsche Challenge
The unleashed game was a favorite of mine i loved driving the 959 and just dusting the cops then i got the race cars and it became was the spec a cop or not lol
ever heard of sports car gt? take a look, i think it would be a good addition to viper retro. tell us how you feel abut the physics
I a man of culture for the old time EA Need for speed franchise from 1990's to year 2008.
1990's is the year what EA has passion for games not money.
Today is ugh.... it's start from 2010 and at 2012 to 2014, They started to ruined everything for fans....
Need for speed 2015 when they talk about to me, my thoughts is like ok.
No Nostalgic feeling for newer games but once you hear Need for Speed Porsche Unleash or Need for Speed Underground/Most Wanted 2005 or Granturismo 2, I would say..
"That's my childhood! "
I was born in 1995,
so I'm glad i was born in the Golden aged of PS1 era, and my first game is Granturismo 2 and Need for Speed Porsche Unleash.
When a decade old game has better handling than 2019 Payback. R.I.P. Payback.
Carmageddon series next?? xd
I have buyed Porsche challenge. It cost me a lot of money. In manual you can read about statistics drivers that you choose. But i dont remember if this really works as they wrote in manual.
Need4speed porsche was freakin awsome when it came out, realy realistic like compared to previous tittles.
Just putting this out there: I love the PSX version of NFSPU much more than the PC version, probably either due to pure nostalgia, or that I just don't like the tracks in PC version which feels way too wide and the cars that felt way too realistic (but not realistic enough, which puts it at that sort of "uncanny valley").
Still, what I wouldn't give for a remaster of this game...
Next Time Project Retro Gameing:Flatout UC👍
