The legislation now heads to the Senate where it is facing an uphill battle. Despite opposition to the bill from Minority Leader McConnell, 33 Republicans joined Democrats to vote for the commission.

Republicans do not oppose a Commission on Insurrection and Violence, they just want it inclusive and to extend to the entirety of the Democrat insurrection throughout 2020. They want an unbias commission that does not have a predetermined outcome before it starts, and one that includes the 20 known and identified antifa memebers seen as the first to enter the capitol building, and a commission that asks why they have arrested 200 Trump supporters who never entered the capitol building and were outside like Ashli Babbit and held them without bail.

I am going to take a wild guess that a decent chunk of their constituents were there that day. I cannot think of another reason why they would vote against something of this magnitude, especially when it was happening with or without them.
