    I can hit a 11" nickel and 7' dime with the orx in my test garden.....on 28khz.
    But my soil is mild.
    Orx is still a great machine

    Bang on. Yep the Nox is good with the 6” coil I use the Coiltek 5” wide elliptical now and Field 2 multi with recovery 6 plus in those type of conditions. I also notch out magnetic soil while still getting the iron but pressing the all metal horseshoe brings it back for ground information. Also do you have 0-3 notched out? Or even 0-8 That might help with the chirpy ground. I use manual ground balance because tracking does not do well in those conditions. But the one thing that really teed me off was Minelab not answering my eMail. Keep em coming the real ground tests are very informative. Our clay is mixed with gravel and turns concrete hard in dry spells and the summer. I have to take a pick with me. Are XP going to do a 5” wide coil for the D2 Do you know?👍👍👍

      I do not like notching on any machine so I do not miss tricky targets and small gold jewelry. Ground tracking on all my machines has never worked in my harsh soil. My soil hardens up like concrete in the summer too. That is when I hunt the relic dumps and in the water. I can not tell you what XP is doing at the moment. I can tell you the engineers are working very hard on v.7 to fix multi full tones and probably some new tonal features. Small coils are essential for getting through modern trashy site like parks.

    • @oldplucker1
      @oldplucker1 Před 2 lety

      @@PaystreakSuperfreak I notch below 0. But I also may choose to notch up to 8. But notching out 1 and 2 will not miss much of value except on certain sites I find. Check what number that gold ring was. I’ll be interested in the V7 update and if XP produce a small coil. I would even like a 6”x3” for getting right between the iron. 👍👍

    That is one limitation to the ORX is that with the 3 tones and no tone break options also no iron audio volume control you are challenged in a trashy park. You also are limited in that you can't really make a trashy park discrimination program either. In fairness I don't think the machine was billed as a coin-shooter / park machine but one way you can at least help in those settings is run your sensitivity much lower I can go down to 75-80 sens and still get targets at 4-6" and cut back on some of the soil and emi. Still my go to relic machine and moderate soil conditions in parks. Just like you said once you clear the ground out you can change freq or increase sensitivity. It has taken me a long time but I can also listen for those subtle iron grunts of a solid tone and tell iron from a good target. Of course you'll never know if you don't dig it all. Nice video the legend is doing well in your soil.

      The ORX is a deep machine if you know where and when to use the right coil. It does have many limitations in modern trash. The Deus 1 is leaps and bounds better in modern trash than the ORX. Both perform well in iron.

    Try threshold hunting with the nox in gold modes it won't break over iron .I have noticed the nox does not really like disturbed soil. I like your videos also a deus user as well I probably won't get a legend maby a deus 2 not sure yet pretty happy with what I have. I have 1000s of hours on minelabs but logging quite a few on the xp machines I wish the equinox had a update to make it perform like my excalibur variable tones like the hot program on the deus 1 .any how great videos I learn quite alot watching

    So today was interesting. I detected a yard from the 40s and hit a few Wheaties and zinc's. I for some reason was like let's try this beach mode once. I smacked 2 silver dimes in like 10 mins. Version 1.06....think I liked 1.05 better. Idk that beach mode was working great though

    • @MrBottlecapBill
      @MrBottlecapBill Před 2 lety

      I've used beach mode on other machines during very wet conditions when the water table is high and the minerals are in a soup of mud......which in some ways simulates a wet salt beach. At least until things dry out. If it's working go for it. :) I run over all my productive spots in every mode eventually. They each just bring something different to your attention that you may have missed before.

    Which one would you buy ... i'm a noob and live in AZ, I am looking into the ORX $600 and the Nokta Legend $500 and Nokta gold finder 2000 $600 ... looking mostly for gold, coins and relics, TIA

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I have never hunted in Arizona. I can tell you that the GF 2000 is very heavy and definitely not a coin machine and also is only a 1 tone machine. The ORX probably will not like the fine dust of the desert very well because it is not waterproof and the dust can ingress into the remote. The Legend is a steal at 500. The LG24 coil would be perfect for gold or coins. Hunting for gold in the desert is by far one the hardest type of metal detecting. Finding small gold is almost impossible with VLF detectors. You really should use Pulse induction detectors for best results on small gold.

      90% copper coins. My soil is very mineralized. The bigger coils even struggle more on freshly buried coins.

    Hi brother, check calabash digger results between you two sending recommendations and results to Nokta and we will have a super detector . Thanks to guys like YOU and your hard work. I just got my legend last week and I find it unstable also and in some ways a bit unpredictable ,as in getting Repeatable Signals , find at times it has a mind of its own . Updates I find making things that were good now Unpredictable and things that were issues somewhat better. Take care .
