- Water scarcity is a frightening situation that is already happening in Pakistan. The country ranks 14 among the 17 ‘extremely high water risk’ countries of the world, a list that includes hot and dry countries like Saudi Arabia. 2 Over 80 percent of the total population in the country faces ‘severe water scarcity’ for at least one month of the year.3 In addition to surface water, Pakistan’s groundwater resources-the last resort of water supply-are severely overdrawn, mainly to supply water for irrigation. If the situation remains unchanged, the whole country may face ‘water scarcity’ by 2025.
The situation is strategically more complicated, as Pakistan
is the lower riparian country to India and 78 percent of its water inflows from therein.4 Moreover, only two-thirds of available water is being utilized while one-third of the water is either lost or discharged into the sea.

An eye opening words. Our industries are wasting water in a brutal way. Yesterday i visited a textile mill. The valve was open and going in drain because valve handle was missing.
We are manufacturing water and chemicals recycling plants but only 100 out of 700 mills have installed yet.

A lot a problems but little solutions. We need to make a nation wide appeal to gather innovative ideas on water efficiency and sustainability to address this grave problem. I have an idea personally specifically around water efficiency that I have emailed the team about which I hope will be heard and taken on board. This will without a doubt, save millions of litres of water every year.

Nobody talks of overpopulation. Aside from having no intelligence to function as a nation-state, the exponential growth of population keeps the polity of Muslims as a slave state. Instead of addressing the problems like the problem of water they talk of state of Medina. Very informative presentation.
Overpopulation is the gigantic issue, must be controlled to prevent scarce resources from running away.
What are the outcomes after 1-year ? Still same, better or become more worse than last year???
