Time is running out. It's heartbreaking how our rulers, both Civilian and Military, have ruled this country since its inception. Multiple crises are looming but the leadership is engaged in petty politics. Shame on us for electing such an a*******.

Author is wrong on the proportion of water usage. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, out of the total available usable water in Pakistan, about 90% is used for agriculture (including domestic use in rural areas), 8% is used by municipality for urban areas and 2% for industrial usage.

India should go ahead and optimize its use of its share of water to the fullest. For us even 20% is not enough. Should probably renegotiate the treaty if possible. We were too generous to an irresponsible nation.

@anupyadav2036 Just imagine if the roles of Hindus and Muslims were reversed and invading Hindus made Pakistan after killing 1.5 million Muslims and Sikhs. I can bet you that these Muslims would have conducted jihad genocide on Hindus in India, and then would have waged numerous wars against Pakistan. Then they would have stopped all water from all rivers. Kashmir Hindus would have been all killed by now. All the Babri and Gyanvapi like temples and another 1 lakh mandirs would have been destroyed by the barbarians. In short Muslims are enjoying Hindu nature of peace and generosity.

India 's Water is like OPEC 's Oil
To make Pakistan see reason and sanity India should abrogate the Indus Water Treaty.
Pakistan uses its geographical advantage to deny India transit facilities with Afghanistan. Similarly , India can use its geographical advantage as Indus , Jhelum and Chenab rivers flow from India to Pakistan.
OPEC uses oil and a weapon and for making money. India can use , vis a vis Pakistan, Water in a similar way.

PM Nehru was over generous in allocating 80% of water to Pakistan in the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 . Maximum water for Pakistan should have been less than 50%/ India should seek a review in her favour of Indus Water Treaty. But for the present India is taking the right steps well within her rights in the Indus Water Treaty i.e. Stopping totally the waters of River Ravi by constructing Shahpur Kandi Dam and dams on Ravi’s tributaries like River Ujhh and River Basantar .
Construction of maximum number of hydro electricity dams / navigational facilities on Rivers Chenab , Jhelum and Indus and also utilising fully ,for irrigation-al / drinking water purposes, India’s small share in these rivers.
