Good Get Home load out. Suggestions for those unaware: Keep a pair of broken in Hiking shoes/Boots, long pants, shirt in trunk (for many of us we don't wear "Get home boots" or clothing to the office), Ensure your protractor is compatible to your maps. Civilian maps typically are not MGRS, they are Lat Long or UTM and a Mil GTA protractor won't work; Mark Routes on Map beforehand and scout Foot Routes.
Folks need to preload their radios with regional Fed, State, Local Police, Fire, EMS, Emergency freqs, (Air/Maritime too).
If wanted to go above & beyond; Your scenario entaios Cars stop, so assuming EMP, CME; prepare for a Nuclear incident by having an N95/P100 mask for fallout/dust/ minor chemical incident, and use with the poncho/gloves. Throw in a pack of Potassium Iodide Ki tabs for shelter in place for time waiting out distance/scenario dependent.
I'm near DC so this a high threat scenario. If in SC if your upwind of Savanah River Site (Nuke Weapon, Fuel production).
    RADTriage stickers could help.
Prepare for basics & expand & tailor to your area over time.

Good video, SouthernPrepper1. A map and knowledge of an area is essential. Some places, it might be possible to follow the high-voltage electrical transmission lines home. A person would stay mostly off the roads. The residential and small business electrical lines usually follow the grid pattern of the roads and streets.
......... The high-voltage lines cut across public and private lands in more direct routes. The electrical lines like irrigation canals are indicated on quality maps. ... +A man doesn't want to get into the same field with a bull or stallion.

Another great thing with head lamps is if you have to travel at night but want to keep your light signature low is strap it to your thigh. Keeps the light lower do its harder to be seen but still lights your path plenty well, and doesn't give any weird aura glow in your eyes like it does on your head without a billed hat. Secondary light would then be used for a directional light.

People are physiologically designed to 'push' things; NOT pull something for a long distance. There are items that can be pushed. SothernPrepper1 has a recent video ~MUST HAVE ITEM...If bugging out by foot~ It's a Hand Truck/Dolly. .... A 'deer/animal' cart used for hunting, might be better. [Even pushing a baby-buggy would be easier than pulling a wagon home.]
Maybe of interest see Wikipedia: Mormon handcart pioneers. The Mormons had 'push/handcars' that could be pushed or pulled. +They organized into ~>Companies. Wikipedia: =
"The handcart companies were organized using the handcarts and sleeping tents as the primary units. Five people were assigned per handcart, with each individual limited to 17 pounds (7.7 kg) of clothing and bedding." (The Company was supplemented by a wagon pulled by oxen for more gear.)
...... [Surely, the person writing the Wikipedia article NEVER spent a day ~pulling something around.] People are physiologically designed to 'push' things. ...... ..... Though obviously, a 'Company' of people would have to both 'Push and Pull' the handcarts over the more difficult terrain for a ~1,300 miles (as the birds fly!). The handcarts are designed to ~push; look at the designed.
The pioneers were tough in the old days; combat ready tough.

i also have to travel very far everyday driving because it's my job, i picked up a nice big wheeled hand pull golf bag carrier years back cheap at a garage sale and have it set up to help with a possible long walk, it works great on the road(as long as it's safe i.e. the start of shtf and it hasn't become dangerous) railroad tracks and trails. it does get kind of wabbly going off trail though. it's in sections so if needed to drop quickly i can grab the lighter bag and bolt on foot, and then long scenario's can be thought. the good thing i like about that little cart is that it folds down and doesn't take up much room and also durable enough for some weigh. have it also set up and fastened to pull from shoulder straps to keep hands free for east walking, the whole thing helps save on my back from a heavy pack for as long as possible.

Cheap soft water storage option: KFC family meals include a 64 oz bag of soda. After the original use, it makes a decent portable way to store water. It is pretty thick plastic. And it will make your buddies laugh.

not sure you could remove the sugar even with heavy rinsing and cleaning from the plastic which could leave bacteria behind. for $4 you can get a case of water at any hardware store.

Survivor filter collapsible canteens. You can get a two pack (1 liter each canteen) for about $10. Sawyer filters fit perfect on top. Used the crap outta mine and are still good.

In 2003 when the East coast grid went down, I was at work, 25Km from home. Fortunately I got a ride 90% of the way and took a cab the remainder. I often think back to that time and what I would have done if I hadn't of gotten the ride. In an urban environment, cash is king. Many cabs gouge during such events. I always try and have several hundred in cash on me at all times for such purposes. Also, as far as food and water, there are stores everywhere along the way and once again cash is king in a power outage.

After watching your video, yeah it makes you wonder...What if I had to walk home from work....I'm close enough...there's not any shady areas I would feel the need to be armed. I will say this, pack as light as you can and take only what you need.

I rarely go more than 20-25 miles from home and I keep an electric scooter in my van wherever I go. It has a range of over 40 miles and a top speed of about 25 miles per hour. I can easily get home in less than an hour and that means I don't need much in the way of emergency supplies.

Kjv Bible read romans through Philemon those books of the Bible were rotten by Paul the apostle to the gentiles . For by grace are ye saved thru faith and that not of yourselves , it’s a gift of God not of works lest any man should boast. And no Paul did not write the book of Hebrews as some kjv bibles may side note say. All of his books he wrote , he clearly pens in them that they are written by my hand, Paul. Paul’s gospel is a grace gospel. The other books in the New Testament are written to the Jews , Matthew , mark, Luke, John , hebrews , James Peter are the Jewish gospel . They include believing on Christ and works to be saved . If what I have told you here sparks any interest , great. If you want to talk , contact me anytime . Terry meals . A great get home tool you might come across on your way home, a bike. A bike can easily triple your speed and make it much safer to stay on roads and highways. Bikes are laying everywhere and most all people have them. Carry $200 extra cash in your get home bag and you’ll find someone who will sell you a bike that’ll get you home
