Unfortunately we are in trouble in Nigeria as we are saddled with this generation of thieves who wear agbada and suit and parade as lawmakers. Can you imagine that one of them even had the audacity to justify their rogue behaviour by explaining that the roads are bad. Foolish lawmakers in a country where majority are suffering daily and are living beneath the poverty line.

Have you heard of the analysis of the cost of the SUVs ? There is allegedly a gap of almost 60% in the cost vs what has been approved. I found it unbelievable that the argument presented is that they need these cars because of the bad roads - who is charge of the funding for roads and infrastructure? Really shocking the rationalization and reasoning - no plan to fix the roads - just to buy new cars - where will they drive them? I’d really like to know

He was elected by his people to fix the roads not to find ways to avoid using the same roads. His people did not elect the ministers, so their expectations were not for the minister to be their senator. He should challenge the budgets that the ministers get and redirect the money to helping the people who elected him. We have not seen him try to cut back on the wasteful spending in government, he wants to do his own spending. 😢

Members of the House of Commons of Canada do not have official cars provided to them by the government. Unlike some other countries where government officials are provided with official vehicles, Canadian Members of Parliament (MPs) typically do not receive government-funded cars for their personal use. They are responsible for their own transportation, and many MPs use their own vehicles or rely on public transportation when traveling to and from their constituencies or while in Ottawa for parliamentary business.
However, the Prime Minister of Canada, cabinet ministers, and certain other high-ranking government officials may have access to official cars and chauffeurs as part of their security and logistical support. But this is not the case for all members of the House of Commons.
