I played that Profile one on PSP years ago for the first time and thought it was alright not great. Glad to hear people like this one, I'll give it a try.
Square Enix owns the IP and it seemed like they played a small role in the actual development of the game. They also wanted to reboot the series and change the branding which is why it's not called Valkyrie Profile Elysium and just Valkyrie Elysium. But yes, Tri-Ace is known for developing the older Valkyrie Profile games.
1:40 Hey there's great live action anime adaptation like Ruroni Kenshin Trilogy, Death Note Saga (the Japanese version, not the Netflix though William Dafoe is a great Ryuk IMO), Chihayafuru, Inuyashiki, Bleach, Kingdom, GTO, Initial D, Gintama and Alita which so far and perhaps the only best Hollywood anime adaptation, though Speed Racer is fun to watch, not a great adaptation or even as a movie but it's fun to watch.
Death note, the one with Tatsuya Fujiwara? I did not like it from what I remember. I couldn't finish Bleach even though it was a short movie lol. GTO was alright just because it was GTO. Initial D with Jay Chou? That's probably the only one that I've seen that I liked just because it's drifting and has some cool cars, though it also wasn't the best. I don't like Jay Chou as an actor. FMA is kind of passable as well but personally I think Japanese acting in anime adaptations are too over the top. They try to make it more anime than it should be and it just comes out weird but that's just my personal opinion. Guess I'm just not a live action kind of guy lol
@@JRPGFanatic yes the one with Fujiwara, I don't remember any other DN live adaptation other than Fujiwara or the God awful Netflix, unless you were thinking of the stage play version. You should give Bleach a shot, like you said it's a _short movie._ I seriously forgot FMA has an adaptation. Sure most of the performance is over the top and can be put off to watch but it can also be it's strength like Gintama or Tokyo Revengers, I mean can you imagine Gintama with 'normal acting' performance....... okay maybe you can, if you never watch Gintama anime in the first place.
Yeah, just wanted to doubly make sure we're talking about the same thing. I'll probably go back and finish Bleach when I'm in the mood again, maybe during the new bleach anime season. I didn't know Gintama had a live-action but I can see it working there. It definitely wouldn't be very Gintama if it wasn't filled with craziness lol.
Nice review. I was interested in the older games, but never bought them. Was hoping bc of some hype from others this would be pretty good entry point. From you and reviews I’ve heard, it’s not good enough. I’ll try to grab an old game if it ever comes to an eshop.
The difference is this game isn't turn based combat. Im a Soulsborne guy but I bought this on a wim, and im loving it. Don't put everything on this one review.
Every Game Ever Created, Since Video Games Started, Hasn't Been For Everyone. Everyone Has Different Taste, When It Comes To These Types Of Things. Just Play The Games That You Like And Prefer, And Leave The Ones That You Don't Like, Be!
Hopefully it is not a reboot but will become a totally separate title. Vp1 and vp2 story are just too good and there is still so much to expand on the story.
I know action RPG is the current trend while turn based might not suit the current gen for new players. This game look no different from Final Fantasy game.
This game is okay if you've never played Profile, if you have you're going to hate it.

I have never played any Valkyrie game before, but this one is just boring. I didn't have any fun playing it despite fast and fluid combat.

Im enjoying this game. Looks beautiful on the PS5. Hope this reboots the Valkyrie franchise.

I was actually thinking about how much better FF15 looked but I could just be remembering wrong. Maybe FF13 would be a better example.
