American diners definitely vary by region. Most will definitely have chicken, burgers, fries, pork chops, pancakes, eggs/omelettes, soup/chili, etc. I've never seen brisket in a diner but maybe they do that in Texas. I always order eggs Benedict if a diner has it.
Agreed. The pie display case brought me back. Here in the south it would be filled with apple and different berry pies. Fun watching!
I'm Texan. I've never seen brisket ON top of a hamburger patty. It sounds interesting though. I've seen ground brisket patty hamburgers and brisket sandwiches of course.
@@jmfelicity Fellow Texan here, and there is a place near Houston (Loco Coyote) that serves a burger with sliced brisket on it. Its a half pound burger with 2 slices of brisket and a huge onion ring topped with the house sauce. Haven't seen any other place here do it though, but I would like to try it.
Eggs Benedict in a diner is too posh. That's more for places like First Watch
Oh Yes , Only in Texas , Brisket smothered in a Homemade BBQ sauce with Onions and Pickles and Buns with a bowl of Brisket Beans , mm Good ! and a Cold Dr Pepper to boot ! Did i forget the Beef Ribs ! Oh My Goodness !

Its so awesome to see America from the same way I, an American, looks at other countries. When I think of tourists in America I normally just think of people from other places IN America visiting a different place in America. Like people going to Florida for vacation.
My mom could use the $100, today is her birthday and my little brother was supposed to undergo open heart surgery yesterday but when they went to intubate him they tore his throat and before they caught it he lost a lot of blood:( they called off the surgery until it heals because they need his throat to heal before they can move on. Who ever reads this please send him a prayer 🙏🏻 ❤

So you think that a load of junk food is considered good food when we in the UK have some of the finest restaurants (I'm talking Michelin Starred ones) and international dining in the world? Laugh of my life 🤣
I'm not sure if it's the UK that needs an education on what good food tastes like. You might benefit from that as well.
@@vinaymulukutla358 Actually the UK did need an education. The good restaurants - even the ones that aren't Michelin Star - happened years after the Chunnel opened. You know, about enough time for people to cross over easily and go to cooking school and do several stages before starting up their own restaurants.
Fitting that pattern, the change was gradual and picked up steam.

@@vinaymulukutla358 Americans sell junk food. They also have a bunch of Michelin starred restaurants. And you missed the point - the British cannot take credit for the improvement of their restaurants in the last couple decades. It was when French influence came in.

That diner was originally not far from where I live… the decor looks pretty authentic ngl. The tiny American flag is incredible 😂 so chicken and waffles is mostly a southern thing. I think all of those foods are definitely American but some of them are regional of that makes sense.
One of my favorite memories of my grandfather was when he would take me to the local dinner for breakfast.
Had such a "Jolly" ol' feeling watching you guys! Can't tell you how much I love it! You two are the best dudes! That would be cool to see a colab with Jolly CZcamsrs and the Travel Beans from the UK.
The tenders instead of bone-in chicken isn't normally done here and the desserts weren't exactly right but otherwise it all looks really good. I am definitely impressed with the hand-dipped corndogs! A lot of places get frozen ones and fry them until hot
I think that depends on the region, because most of the diners I’ve been to more commonly offer tenders.

The decor is authentic to that time. They have food from all over the united states. Chicken and waffles are southern. Brisket burger is southwestern, most of this is southern food. Decent menu with legit looking southern food

As an American trucker I’ve sat in many diners and it never fails to be amazing!
I drove for a few years myself and I couldn’t agree more. Personally my favorite Dinner was in Butte Montana while I was held up for 2 days cuz of a blizzard.

Always love going to a diner. I love eating breakfast or lunch in the booths. Lunch would always be eggs, hash brown, and buttermilk pancakes. For lunch, mostly a burger and fries. Very special place to go to with my family.
Diner milkshakes hit differently. Sitting in a booth or on a stool, dipping fries in the shake, are nostalgic

Southern American diners just hit different. The ones in Oklahoma are my favorite. But this diner looks to be trying hard to make it authentic. I love it!
Looks authentic enough. I'm kurious to know how they make the brisket. I doubt it's the same way. That smoky flavor can be duplicated with liquid smoke. 🤔
When you come back to the States, try the Silver Diner if you are in the DC, Virginia, or Maryland area (I think there is one in New Jersey, too).

I'm also in TN we have a place here in Nashville called pepperfire. Their chicken and waffles are amazing!! Hot chicken on waffles with baked cinnamon apples is so so good!!!!

There used to be a place in Warsaw Indiana that looked just like that place. It was called Shoops. Only ate there twice, but loved it
As a girl from Nashville TN sweet tea and a patty melt will always be my diner order! Bonus if they have cheese fries!! Love chicken and waffles but it has to be Nashville hot chicken on waffles with a side of baked apples. I like to top my chicken and waffles with the baked apples!! Its so so good
