    Barb's BQ in Lockhart, TX. Came from Goldee's BBQ and started her own place. Her Molotov ribs are amazing. Brisket is better than any brisket you'll have. Texas Monthly magazine names the best bbq in Texas each month. They know what's up. If you want a high quality bbq with a cajun twist, check out Red Bird in Port Neches, TX.

    The #1 rated bbq spot in Texas (according to Texas Monthly Magazine) is Goldee’s BBQ in Ft. Worth, TX. It’s #1 for a reason. If you think Terry Black’s is next level, the Goldee’s BBQ is next WORLD.

    Hey guys! Loved the video, and it's great to see ya'll enjoying Texas!Heres my BBQ suggestion! Cooper's BBQ, but you have to make the drive to Llano to the original location! (Real Texans know) Their blackberry cobbler is second to none, and all the meat fantastic as well. As a 3rd generation Texan, I can promise this place wont disappoint!

    My family is from Luling and Lockhart area near Austin, I think you have some great places there such as Black's, Kruez's, and Smitty's in Lockhart, and City Market in Luling. But there are SO many in and around Central Texas as well, Snow's, Franklin's, etc. I think you can have a good experience at nearly all of the big boys. Texas Brisket is going to be good if it's cooked low and slow on Post Oak and Pecan. No fancy seasonings, etc. I've been all around the country and no BBQ compares to Texas'. It's just different. Terry Black's is great, you did good going there.

    Pecan Lodge in Dallas is excellent. Also Naamans BBQ in Texarkana (technically on the Arkansas side, but the state line goes right down the center of town).

    I think something that people don’t realize about turkey at barbecue joints is that it is basically deli turkey that has been smoked. It’s not an actual turkey breast they’re not shaped that way and when you get turkey from the deli, it has added moisture to it and it’s usually wet brined That doesn’t mean it doesn’t taste good that doesn’t mean it’s not moist and smoky and juicy and great. It just means you’re not getting something from the original bird. It has been processed just look at the shape it’s like what they slice at the deli counter, that is literally the trick or the secret or whatever you wanna call it, don’t get me wrong. I love it because of the smoky flavor. Just don’t think that they actually took a turkey breast and did that with it because it doesn’t come in that shape from nature.

    Y'all need to try Hutchins BBQ in Frisco or McKinney Texas.
    Also I have a friend from Las Vegas who used to eat mainstream barbecue from places like Dickies and then we introduced her to Texas BBQ at Hutchins... Changed her whole understanding of BBQ. She can never go back!

    Franklins, Goldees, Terry Blacks, Killens are the most well-known. Some less famous (still popular) solid spots are Snow's BBQ, Hutchins BBQ. I know there is a lot more, but these are the only places I have been to that are on the top tier level.

  • @ajohnson1969
    @ajohnson1969 Před 29 dny

    Terry Black’s is really good. I know that you’ve tried Hutchin’s, which is also amazing. Franklin‘s BBQ in Austin is incredible and so is Hurtado’s in Arlington Texas. There’s Heim BBQ in Fort Worth. There are just so many amazing BBQ joints in Texas. Stay away from the BBQ “chains” because they suck. Aim for BBQ “dives”, because that’s where it’s at.

  • @Madigan03

    Terry Blacks is definitely the standard for BBQ, if y’all are doing a road trip up from Austin towards the Dallas and Fort Worth area, you HAVE to stop by Slovacek’s West gas station for literally the best bakery food out there! They have great sausage and BBQ as well but I wouldn’t say it’s better than Terry’s, but their bakery makes up for any shortcomings!

    In central Texas, we have "Terry Black's BBQ" and "The Original Black's BBQ." What's the difference? Well, both places stem from the original "Black's BBQ" of Lockhart, TX. At some point in the existence of the family-owned business, there was a split. One entity, owned by Terry Black, opened their doors in various cities around central Texas (Austin, Dallas, Lockhart, and Waco). The other restaurant also opened restaurants under the name "The Original Black's BBQ" ..... Also in the central Texas area (Lockhart, Austin, New Braunfels, and San Marcos).
