    Thank you.
    What is the difference between Water's view and Caldwell view? I took notes from your PDF, and watching your videos. Which one should I follow for exam.
    Thanks again.

    • @mentaldental
      @mentaldental  Před rokem +1

      You’re welcome! Both x-rays are angled PA radiographs of the skull but with slightly different orientations. Waters shows the best view of the maxillary sinuses, Caldwell shows the best view of the frontal and ethmoid sinuses.

    Dear Doctor the use of vertical x-ray.. Which we can use ? the bite wing or peri apical to have a good image of pdl..I mean the diagnosis of periodontitis

    • @mentaldental
      @mentaldental  Před 3 lety +1

      I think both bitewings and periapicals are important to diagnose periodontal condition! Bitewings for bone level and periapicals for periodontium health.

      @@mentaldental so if we have angular loss of bone bite wing is better as image than peri apical..that both images can visualize bone loss no bite wing is better.. Thank you dear doctor for the information

    With the creation of CBCT, aren’t Water’s, Towne’s, and Submentovertex views obsolete? If not, when would we choose to use those views over a CBCT?

    • @mentaldental
      @mentaldental  Před 2 lety +1

      CBCT does provide more information, but the radiation dose (and generally cost to the patient) will be higher. To answer your question, yes the CBCT has rendered these views obsolete for the most part, but the board exam still asks about them.

  • @Kitabi.Batein
    @Kitabi.Batein Před 3 lety

    Is Towne's view taken in PA or AP?

    • @mentaldental
      @mentaldental  Před 3 lety

      Great question. Technically it would be called "AP" since the beam goes from anterior to posterior although most dental professionals will refer to cephalometric radiographs as either lateral or PA. Thanks for pointing out this distinction!
