Thank you so much for your kind words! ☺️
Thank You, Doctor
Thank you! This made everything so clear
Thank you for including the developmental stage these disorders occur. Bud Cap Bell. I am an RDH in 4 states now studying for my 5th set of boards. With age my interest in really understandng developmental anomalies where, when, and how they occur, has become important to me. Early childhood abuse including in utero (drug use of the mother spousal abuse domestic violence) can and should be recognized, and documented to protect mother _ child from violence and violent histories. Thank you for making my studying easier and rewarding. thank you for helping my knowledge base and cognative skills for recognization.
Thank you so much! I am almost halfway finishing all of your series.
Great job! Keep up the strong work 💪🏼
Ryan. You are so good and clear. Thank you. You could make the most boating subjects exciting and interesting. Your the best.
Boring not boating. Sorry. Seriously Ryan. You exude excellence.
Thank you so much
Thank you
Thanks
tnx doc
Hi Ryan,
in a different video you had mentioned the order for congenitally missing teeth as : 3rd molars > max laterals, mandibular 2nd PM.
Hi Felicia, thanks for your question. I made a comment in that other video that that was the correct ranking for the UK. The order presented in this video is correct for the US and what should you know for the board exams.
Hey Dr. Ryan, I had a quick question. How would we distinguish between Enamel hypoplasia and dental Flourosis?
Hi, i have a Summary of some of the developmental disturbances, and I hope u correct me if I’m wrong.
Initiation: # of teeth (+ or -, mesiodens…)
Bud stage: peg shaped
Cap stage: fusion/ gemination
Bel stage:: DE/DI / micro;macrodontia
Thanks alot )))
If you want to know more about pediatric dentistry check out the below video. It has good info. I hope it will help you 👍 😊
Please refer to the thesis related to this topic
On what do you base the most common missing teeth? What literature?
Hi Dr. Ryan. Always thankful with your lectures 🙏🏼.
I have a question,
Dentin dysplasia and Regional odontodysplasia are both a deffect from histodifferentation stage?
Thank you in advance.
What a great question! You are exactly right, DD and RO along with AI and DI are a result of an error in the histodifferentiation stage.
@@mentaldental thank you 🙏🏼
Hello dr ryan, just a clarification. You mentioned dens in dente is a defect in cap stage (in video 1), but it also falls under anomalies of shape in video 2 (which is a defect in morphodifferentiation = size & shape abnormalities). I appreciate the clarification. Thank you in advance.
And all the rest of anomalies of shape disturbances occur in morphodifferentiation?
What kind of doctor do I need?
hi i have a problem here because you are saying dentin dysplasia type 2 has chevron pulps but in dental decks said type 1 has chevron type pulp chamber, thanks for helping
Dentin dysplasia type 1 affects the roots, whereas dentin dysplasia type 2 affects the crowns (causing chevron pulps).
According to AAPD thistle tube shape is seen on DD type 2
Thank you so much
How can I get the slides ?
You can get the PDF slides one of two ways. Visit my website to find out how! www.mentaldental.com/faq
Dear Dr. Ryan,
Could you kindly let us know which is more commonly missing 3rd molar, is it maxillary or mandibular? Thank you!
Good question, I don’t know that for certain!
Hey Ryan! Regarding the mesiodens, when would be the best time to extract it? Some say is as soon as possible others say it's after ⅔ to ¾ of the permanent tooth root has formed (to avoid damaging it). What would you say?
Excellent question, Lara! I would say it depends on the situation. If a mesiodens is inhibiting development of eruption of other teeth, interfering with orthodontic movement, developing pathology around it, or erupting into the nasal cavity (it can happen!) then I would lean towards extraction. If a mesiodens is not interfering with eruption, orthodontic movement, has no pathology, and is asymptomatic, I would lean towards observation.
Thank you for your answer Ryan! Let’s say it requires an extraction when would it be as soon as possible or wait till the root of the permanent teeth (the one the mesiodens is obstructing) is formed at least 2/3 to 3/4?
@@laranguyen1940 If it requires extraction, I would take it out ASAP.
Hey Ryan, why didn't we mention here the types of dentinogenesis imperfect? Thank you!!
It’s not as high yield as the other topics I covered, but that’s a good idea for a future video thanks!
Mental Dental thank you Ryan!!
So, if the permanent teeth arise from the deciduous predecessors, does that mean that children with missing upper B will also have missing upper permanent laterals?
Great question! Missing primary teeth are very rare, but if a child is missing a primary lateral it is very likely they will be missing the corresponding permanent lateral for that exact reason.
Hi Dr Ryan
The sequence of the congenitally missing teeth in this episode is not the same sequence in the oral surgery
Which one is accurate?
This video provides the correct order (as does my video in the new Oral Diagnosis series)!
May I ask... where do you get these images from... I'm trying to make my own videos. Is there anything like copyright .... where do you get free dental images
Thanks
