The funny thing is I have a theory that popped into my mind about the reverse flash. I could see the speed force begrudgingly accepting Eobard Thawne as a speedster but only on the condition he acts as a counter weight to Barry Allen. Essentially becoming a dark avatar of the speed force; leaving the speed force in a state of balance. Barry tries to bring back his mother Thawne goes to stop it, since the action will make sure Barry Allen never becomes the flash and essentially erasing Thawne as well.
I agree about Reverse Flash. I would disagree about Batman and Joker. The "mutual obsession" is more of a writer thing. Depending on who's writing, Batman could care less about the Joker outside of preventing his crimes.

The funny thing is I have a theory that popped into my mind about the reverse flash. I could see the speed force begrudgingly accepting Eobard Thawne as a speedster but only on the condition he acts as a counter weight to Barry Allen. Essentially becoming a dark avatar of the speed force; leaving the speed force in a state of balance. Barry tries to bring back his mother Thawne goes to stop it, since the action will make sure Barry Allen never becomes the flash and essentially erasing Thawne as well.

I agree about Reverse Flash. I would disagree about Batman and Joker. The "mutual obsession" is more of a writer thing. Depending on who's writing, Batman could care less about the Joker outside of preventing his crimes.
True, but I would say that Batman is obsessed with joker, but that obsession is hatred. Joker is the only villain that Batman genuinely hates. All the other villains batman only cares about them in so far as stoping them from hurting people. He doesn't actually hate them, despite all of them hating him. Joker however has the main motivation to fuck with Batman personally. After all the awful things he's done, Batman hates him completely. He's the only villain Batman thinks he might end up killing or perhaps should kill. Joker however, ironically loves Batman in a twisted way.

In one Flash comic i used to have, Reverse Flash revealed to Barry, he went back in time to smash Barry's Grandmother from his mom's side AND Iris' Grandmother, so that both's mom could be created, and proceeded to do the SAME to Barry and Iris' moms so that Barry and Iris would be related (He still killed Barry's Mom btw). Then he still slept with Iris as a teen, got her pregnant , and gave her child up for adoption. Then when the child was an adult, he introduced him to Barry and Iris, revealed it was Iris' son, then killed the son in front of them. And all of this was so that Barry would know he, Iris and RF are related, and he never hit it first.

Thawne has always failed in every attempt to kill Barry Allen because of his obsession and envy of Barry’s life. It was the life that he could never have. Thawne couldn’t simply move on and live out his own life. It had to be with his hero that he idolized as a child. Thawne had to be there in every waking moment of Barry’s life. Thawne is literally the ex boyfriend that will continue to stalk you for the rest of eternity. Joker doesn’t need to go to that extent. All he needs to do is blow up a building for absolutely no reason because he knows the Batman will always show up to chase him.
