The energy your body consumes trying to recover from the physical trauma of losing that limb is much more than the energy that eating the limb actually gives you. Another thing, if you were to cut a big artery, high chance you'll just bleed out before you can even eat your limb.
Plus, your body is already cannibalizing itself in the most efficient way it can. Ever seen the bodies of people who have been starved of food for an extended period of time? Ever seen how skinny they are? Where did all their fat and muscles go? That's right, straight into their metabolism. Leave your arm alone, your body will do the self-cannibalizing for you.

I love it when they realistically portray Flash while not nerfing him. Like ya, Superman is drawing most of the alien invasions, and Batman will Beat you to a pulp, but the Flash, he can do all of that and will STILL give you a lecture. Heck depending on the version, he can also talk down his villains, something most other heroes don't usually do. It's why I compare him to Spider-Man, they are both the Heart of the team, and they are willing to view their villains as people, sometimes evil, but often still deserving help and compassion.(Except for when they kill family members, then the gloves are off)

Ever since I understood the Flash I’ve come to see him the way a lot of people try to portray Batman. He’s truly sympathetic and caring and he understands that many of his villains are capable of and willing to do good, such as captain cold who has a strict “no innocent bystanders“ policy (I know this one bounces between any innocent people and children) or the guy he had a drink with in the justice league show (cannot for the life of me remember who it is right now). He also tries to see things from his villains side and even offers compromises if there is room. He truly wants to see his rogues turn over a new leaf, and that is his biggest weakness, he can be too forgiving. I’m only disappointed that he took all of them in and didn’t just take the guy that robbed the Flash museum, cause that’s something he 100% would’ve done if none of the other villains did anything criminal in Central City

It also serves a useful purpose for Flash himself. If something really serious is going down, he's on good enough terms with his usual villains that like, he knows the bar they hang out at, he can walk up and talk to them because they know he only tries to stop them when they're committing actual crimes, and he knows that, for all that they're people who are willing to do crimes for money, they also aren't complete monsters.
Heck, sometimes if people get too out of line, Flash doesn't even have to stop them. The Rogues will do it first. It's a very strange relationship, and one that only really works because the Flash is *so* much more powerful than most of his villains, but certainly an interesting one.

I think marvel did a similar issue to this but with spidey, saying he was the best to get caught by since, at the end of the day hell throw some quips but ultimately unless you do something personal youre fine after some jailtime

For me, it's always been about the Kinetic energy equation we learned in high school : Ek = (1/2)*mass*(speed squared)
It has always been so frustrating in most depiction of the Flash, every one of his punches look really weak compared to Superman or Wonder Woman. But physically speaking, mass matters quadratically less than speed in terms of how much energy an object, lets say a fist, carries when moving.
Basically, the Flash should punch like a freaking truck every time and knock everyone out of orbit haha

The flash can be so fast that he can outrun the concept of death and run to a place where death doesn't exist, but flash has a bigger threat even a bigger threat then zoom, thawne, savitar, godspeed combined and that is the writers, they can give the flash a random weakness like scarecrows fear toxin which he could see and was too fast to outrun it before it was even seen but they made him slow enough that he fell for it and died to a spinning blade

I've always preferred collecting and reading DC Comics and the flash has always been my favorite character, I really started reading Flash before I read anything else. I started with the Flas rebirth story and then the new 52. And I am disappointed with how the movies have been completely disingenuous to the character making him a spastic teenager that's kind of cowardly
