@@METALHAWKhi there I love this version... SOOOO MUCH 🐺🐾💜
My grandmother was born in 1913 on a Cherokee Reservation in North Carolina. My grandfather was born in 1906 in County Cork Ireland. They married and had my father in Hell’s Kitchen Ny in 1946. I was born in Florida in 1987. I’m a man out of time, and my heritage is split. This song feels like home. 🤘🏻
Shane... I'm about 1/3 Native American, on my mother's side, with Irish making up that last third.
...and 100% German/Frisian on my father's.
Believe me, I can relate. lol
Lol you Do realize its an irish song?
Irish Cherokee. In the "first families of Tennessee " book
It should. You are home. Your heritage is here, and this song just drives it home what it means to be American.
It was written in 1992 by a American
There are songs and music that make me weep every time I hear them played. I dont know why. This is one of them. Perhaps this is a reminder of everything we Native Americans have lost and can never regain.
Settling America was a mistake, no good has ever come from that enterprise.
Kinda makes you want to regain what we can, huh?
We are one tribe now, regards from BOII HAIMA
Brother this is one of my favorite pieces of all time (and I'm old as fucking hell). I don't normally dig the "check this out as metal" stuff, but brother you're a master and a true artist. I saw your first version years ago, and wept. Noticed this today, and wept all over again. I do love the original orchestral piece don't get me wrong, but your take on it - IMHO - is the way the real life of events went. It wasn't classical or orchestrated - it was badass heavy and raw, just like your work here. I wish I had your gift brother, but all I can do is write and without the other half it's not much.
Thank you for your work, and for sharing it.
F.Y.I. The violinist in this video is the composer: CZcams video: Dougie MacLean - The Gael
Huh?
Now read this comment starting at the 1:00 mark and feel how epic this comment is! 😂👍🏻
Beautiful comment. Raw truth

@@BlackWolf-vd5jl Don't worry we put it to better use.
I love this song because it perfectly captures the emotional experience of choosing to leave comfort to do the right thing to help others.
When our Empire falls you are free to reclaim as much as you can hold. Please reclaim Southern California 🙏🏻
Your right my friend
My gold fish listened to this.
He is now a Los Angeles Class submarine.

Very impressive...
But is it nuclear based?
Dont you know that los angeles is sinking into the ocean, and no, its not gods will, its tectonics, and you should move the fuck out of there
I dont even know what this means but it appears funny on the surface so I shall like it
Yay! Another like!
Yes.... YES!!... my power is growing!!
Hahahahahaha that's great!!
When you're the last of your kind and the metal finds you.
@jamie 123 .. It does sound a bit Scottish, obviously this Iconic piece of Music belongs to the "Mohawk Nation of the Hudson Mohawk River Valley" Hope I have their "Location and Name" right out of full respect for these "1st Nations People of Turtle Island" Kia ora [Ya ta say] O'siyo sago wado A'ho
[Native of Ngati Porou Nation [NZ] with "Ancestral" ties to the Navajo-Hopi Nations of North Western Arizona]
@jamie 123 .. Well I should have read the information about the tune sorry I got it all wrong the thumb-nail sucked me in as the Photo Portrays to me what looks like an American Native Woman and naturally thought it was their song/tune which was odd to me and funnily enough well how Fucking Stupid of me is right & embarrassing Lol I will look into back-ground info before commenting in future as I have a love of Native/s Peoples World-wide
@jamie 123 .. How interesting I love the history of different Cultures whether Tribal- Celtic and/or Clansman or however I mean to say that I don't wanna press any more buttons that I've wrong-fully put down- Gaelic Peoples of Scotland Wow! I am Native of New Zealand I don't know my Scottish Ancestry my Grandfather "Abe Eparaima Mclean" never spoke of it and I never thought to ask but have wondered many times- many (Natives) Maori here in NZ are of Scottish Decent thanks for letting me know and once again my mistake, Btw I Love the Scots as I do all Indigenous Peoples especially the 1st Nations Peoples of Turtle Island and Canada [Kia ora] means hello and thank you in my language of Maori and can be used as an acknowledgement of agree-ment as one says Goodbye

"Great Spirit, Maker of All Life. A warrior goes to you swift and straight as an arrow shot into the sun. Welcome him, and let him take his place at the council fire of my people. He is Uncas... my son.
Tell them to be patient and ask death for speed; for they are all there but one -
I, Chingachgook - Last of the Mohicans."

Long life to you my brothers and families.
Uncas' death was the most devastating and unnecessary of the film.
Great lines. I have often wondered in Eric Schweig wasn’t a bit miffed that this story was written about his character, the true hero of the tale, Unca.
@@sandwichbreath0 But he died in the book, which was written in 1826. That's too much history to change. Not to mention that if he didn't die in the movie, Chingachgook wouldn't be the Last of the Mohicans, so the title would mean nothing.
I fell in love with Uncas as a preteen. It was such a heart wrenching movie and the music was beautiful 😍
Curiously, the actor's name is Eric Schweig.
Yes it was
Last of the Mohicans is my FAVORITE movie ever. This rendition in metal is absolutely freakin amazing. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! ❤🤘
The original "Last of the Mohicans" score is one of my favorite pieces of music. This arrangement is absolutely fantastic! Rock and roll! You kept every perfect note and made it metal! Awesome!
@jamie 123 song is called Gael and yes :)
Hey davey929, have you heard this version? F.Y.I. The violinist in this video is the composer: CZcams video: Dougie MacLean - The Gael
Would it be weird to have this play at my funeral?
Yes but after one hundred years
Not at all,do it!
No, because it should be music you liked in your life.
I thought about "Highway to hell" for my own funeral 😉
But it might frighten some people when they realize that knocking sound is me...headbanging inside the coffin 🤣
No. It would inspire someone.
Why not it's your funeral
At my funeral need the people listen to rammstein 😆
Now find yourself a couple of decent Scottish bagpipers, throw them in the mix and turn everything up to 11, this tune needs the pipes
Should do a joint effort with The Sidh.👍
All Hail Dougie Maclean.
@@clutchpedalreturnsprg7710 or a least call the tune by its name and not the name of the film.
@@cathalodiubhain5739 Oh, Hi Cathal, It's " The Gael ". I heard that that may mean " The Kiss ". I don't know for sure. Anyways here is my favorite version: CZcams video: Dougie MacLean - The Gael
@@clutchpedalreturnsprg7710 Hi, yea its a great song one of my favorites. Gael is a person from Ireland, Scotland and isle of man. People from a Gaelic culture. In Irish language we say Na Gaeil. It goes way back before the Norse/Viking invasions. The Irish and Scottish were Gales( not all Scottish were Gaels some were Picts, the English Saxons ect
My son listened to this, now he is my father.
One of those pieces I will never get tired of. It's been my favourite for months. Beyond awesome.
Found the first cover MetalHawk did of this song when it had 25k-30k views. Now it is at 15M. Recently found this Ext Version and I am blown away yet again. I feel I may responsible for 10% of some of these views like many commenters here. Keep it up.

Excellent!! Now we need an extended version of the extended version. :)
yes sir.
It's called "Loop" or "repeat". lol
At first I was like, no way, how could you do that to this epic theme song & movie... but then I listened & was pleasantly surprised. Even got a little bit of old Metallica nostalgia out of it....

...Same here. I have always loved the original soundtrack, and am a metal fan, so hearing this is awesome.
Same here mate, goosebumps throughout 🤤
same as you, for information, "the gael" is the original name of this scotish song
@@pascalleflohic4508 Well, the version from the film is called Promontory.

WOW!!!!! Cant believe I'm only finding this extended version now. I've already listened to the 03:49 version about a hundred times. Thank you 🙂🤗🤘
Intoxicated 😭❤️
No words. Unbelievable arrangement. Epic transfer
Such a great movie! It has everything!! Love and loss, conflict and triumph. The majesty and beauty of the American eastern wilderness and the abject horror that is war and its consequences. The deep and complex philosophies of the beginnings of the American Revolution are contrasted against the smallness and heated passion, of two men's conflict over a woman. The portrayal of how cheap life is and yet incredibly precious at the same time ...
The song does it justice :) a worthy inclusion :) 🤘🤘❤💪

It's not really a video, however, I have no problems with looking at that girl for 8 minutes :)
Joking apart, 'Promentory' is one of the most epic songs of all time, and when it meets metal, it is just perfect!
Can't get enough of this. The original was literally a masterpiece and this one is just an extended masterpiece. Well done! Solo especially is the my favorite part.
MacLeod_559 the Gods smiled.
Damn, this is the BEEEST version of this song... listening it over and over again!!!
Best version EVER ! My funeral music just has to be.........
I played this song in the morning while getting ready to go to my boyfriend’s house.
He was cheating on me. And I knew the girl stayed the night at his place.
I continued playing this song during my drive there. I get to the front door, using an extra key to open it. Right there in the living room I saw the girl sleeping on the couch naked. My boyfriend was in the kitchen cooking breakfast.
The look on his face. Turned pale white. As if he saw death that very moment. I blitzed him like an angry bull while he held a wooden spatula. A veggie omelette cooking on the stove. The same breakfast he always made me. I kicked his ass. His face was pounded by a flurry of fists.
The girl stayed frozen sitting up on the couch just watching in terror. I made eye contact with her on my way out the door and said “you can have him!”
Got in my car and played this song again on my drive back. With my left hand on the steering wheel, blood was running down each knuckle. Swollen. Dark red. Battered and bruised. I felt invincible as I looked at the road ahead of me.
so you guys are broke up?
Sounds like he cheated on you because you are insane and he couldn’t tell you 😂
