Let me explain, bullying is a common thing in our real world, and cyberbullying is bullying someone online... so, when in the metaverse, as it intends to replace the real world, will also cause most normal bullying to become cyberbullying. Hence, "taking cyberbullying to the next level".

As someone who read "Ready Player One", the book pretty much shows how people try to escape the harsh reality by living in a unreal digital universe showing how this affect the whole society. What's even worse is how a company tries to "own" that digital universe. It's hard to believe that something that was always portrayed as fictional, which even showed it's gigantic negative effects on people's mental health and society is could become real. If an addiction to social media is already a problem, imagine an entire immersive universe.
I find it funny how basically every movie with a metaverse portrays it as basically a bad thing, yet every company seems to love to say their metaverse is going to be "like ready player one or the matrix". In ready player one if I remember correctly at the end of the book they start to spend LESS time in the metaverse and more time in the real world, and the giant soulless corporation is defeated after attempting to control the metaverse for profit like these companies do. And the Matrix they just straight up just want to leave the metaverse all together and live in the real world, and the only person who DID want to be in the metaverse was also a bad guy who killed people to get back there.

I say that last part because the benefits of what the metaverse if gone about in the right way could produce is obvious.. and those who are entirely against it and claim there's nothing to gain from it are just as misguided as those who claim that it will be harmless.. keep up the good work man... if you do read this email me I've got a good idea for something having to do with the whole metaverse concept that I'd like to see what your thoughts are on it

A simple question that I have: If I could look better in the metaverse, do great things in the metaverse, have a huge number of positive interactions and activities in the metaverse, why on earth would I ever come back to the real life? I would take the bare minimum of sustenance in the real life, and live out the rest of my life in the metaverse.
I would call this the "Avatar Paradox". In the movie "Avatar (2009)", there was a dialogue of Jake, which says, "It feels like out there is the reality, and in here the dream." (Obviously, I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea). So I would probably live out my life in the dream.
But I think it might have real issues such as people losing touch with reality, and the entire world living in a comatose situation, with their brains connected in the virtual world. It feels kind of dystopian.
This is really scary tbh, I think it's a cool concept but the fact that this could potentially outweigh the real world freaks me out

as an example, meta is wonderful for those who are disabled or are seperated on ither sides of the world so you can connect however for those who live together, they will drift apart and start a new life in the metaverse. we need to use the metaverse as a tool to improve life and not to replace it.

This also means that Meta will be able to monitor every single move and word you say/hear/do. There will be zero privacy just like there is none on FB.
Yep, which also means that our culture will be stuck, cause people won't have to think about anything, because the "right" and "wrong" have been fixed on us to a point where most people would think it's objective.
When reality is, our moral values have changed over time as the species evolves. And a big company with that power can easily halt it all in fear of change, because again, the people running it behind closed doors have the same fear as everyone else: "not being the one in control", or in other words, "the unknown" and whatnot.
I still think that for now, I'll just hang in my real self. I know how to use VR chat and can even get a VR headset if I want to... just I don't think it's gonna be any better for me. It's kinda just pointless until an entire consciousness transfer is possible.

@@VideoGameStarChannelSupreme A TRANSFER will never be possible. They will probabaly be able to make an exact COPY of your consciousness, so that for everyone who knows you it will be identical. But for you, it would be no difference from just dying.

As a user and creator of that content it will be all the same to you, but for the old hard drive (if it had the ability to think and feel), it makes no difference if a copy was made before being smashed, it will experience exactly the same thing regadless (being smashed and thrown away).
@@TheMemoryPolice Correct. It also tracks your movements.

Anytime you see huge multi-billion dollar corporations push something like this so much, you should be VERY concerned. My favorite comment with companies like this is, "If they could make more money making widgets, they would make widgets." principle of this? It's all about money. So their ultimate goal is to take even more money (higher percentage) then they do now. If this was some grassroots movemement using some indie based software, I would be much more welcoming. But I see this much like I see blockchain video games. It's a huge moneygrab.
Ofcourse it's about making money, they're not pouring billions of dollars into a project out of pure good will. It will be monetized, it will have ads everywhere, perhaps premium subscriptions and paid events. But the Metaverse will have to be appealing to get people on board. For that, they will have to make it accessible and fun for the broad audience. You won't see much BS on the platform for the first few years at least.
Here after Apple released Vision Pro. What he said about cars, virtual meetings, face tracking 100% came through
I canât wrap my head around thisâŠ

I donât want the metaverse to be as strong as itâs sounding, I donât want a replacement for our reality, I want the metaverse to be a hyperrealistic game universe, the way itâs sounding like itâs meant to be sounds like what various video games and movies warned us against, physical reality should always is distinguishable from the digital one
We actually never know, were probably in metaverse right now (simulation), and all of us are just witnessing the past which is our present

Yeah agreed
Same I'm not wanting to leave the world I want be irl
I got a fiverr ad when arun said but and it honestly got me laughing
Imagine your playing catch in the meta Verse with teleportation
That's like all black mirror episodes in one idea. Just imagine that everything you do inside this will be monitored all the time from every angle.
Black mirror is the new Simpsons.
This seems like the sort of thing that will make the "biggest fails they want you to forget" video in 10 years.
Yeah I thought the same thing I feel like it's gonna become like Google cardboard
I really hope it becomes that.
May it be, this concept is way too terrifying to be real
this sounds like we are going to make ready player one irl one day
Wait... this feels like we are going to become like the people in the walle movie đł
The fact that many people are against this gives me hope.
It feels like 90% of the people who are super vocal against the metaverse thing weren't around before the internet became popular. People were against the internet as well, look how that panned out. If you're reading this, you're literally on it right now. How vocal the opposition is doesn't really make a difference in the end, the majority will still gladly consume it.
Also, the reason why you see so many people against it, is because only the people against it are speaking out. The ones who are into it don't have any reason to be talking about it 24/7.
@@joeljayakaran I was about to say that...
Just like the VCR was adopted widely by the porn industry in the 80's, Meta virtual reality will most likely too. I just can't see myself spending half a day with a headset on just to do regular work.... nope!
Seeing how people eventually gave up on using fb 24/7 too we're probably fine, but it is still worrisome to think the effect it will have on some people, many will stop living in the real world except for eating and toilet
@7th lmao ok boomer
We are officially heading into Ready Player One universe.
If not to mention Ready player two!
I have no idea why not many people are saying that it's basically rpo because it really is
Ready player one is like the meta verse
YESSSSSS
YES!
Ok some people are completely against it but here is my point of view. As a student it would be pretty cool and more fun to learn things like this than reading the text on a book.
It's like the first time I discovered internet, there is everything on the internet, You can learn, get to know about anything or you can waste your time.
Only one thing you need is to be a little smart & have some self-control.

Amazing i also just started trading with Mr Franklin C. Davis With an initial investment of $2,400 i made up to $6,700 in just a week of trading with him..his strategies are mind blowing
