The only positive side is that I feel less depressed because I'm trying to focus on myself since the breakup : I got my driving license at first try one week ago, I'm about to do my first tattoo, I'm getting back on track very slowly about bodybuilding and finally at the beginning of September I will try to get back to university. Time is slowly doing the things but those who say that time heals aren't right. The pain and the betrayal will never fade away no matter how many years go by. You just learned to accept it and unfortunately during the process you realize that you've changed in a bad way.

To be honest, I've never been a religious person but recently I tried to pray without even believing that there are some gods somewhere, surprisingly I felt some kind of relief. Ironically I started to pray without any valid reason and just 2 days after, I found out by myself that she cheated. Looks like something or someone opened my eyes. Idk if it's some kind of magic of gods if there's any or it was only a coincidence. But whatever reason behind it I just want to be happy again, which I can't really be since I'm not able to feel anything. But I'm truly thankful that there are people like you that are willing to help others with kind words even if we might not be living on the same continents.

My first real relationship ended a few months ago, after being 7 years together. I honestly thought we were going to grow old together, and it felt like someone died when he left me.
He was the only person who really got me, and who I could be comfortable with. And then he suddenly says he doesn’t love me anymore, and hasn’t for some time.
I dropped out of my education simply because I hardly got out of bed for a month, and maybe ate every 2 or 3 days, because I couldn’t be bothered to eat. I once went over a week without eating anything at all.
People started to get worried and started to come by and knock on the door. I never answered. I didn’t read emails or answer texts or phone calls.
Eventually I had to get out of bed, because I had to take on debt to pay my bills. It helped going to work again, but it still feels like I lost a part of myself.

@@meganod279 There are lots of reasons people break up without any wrongdoing. In my situation, my ex wasn't in a good mental state for a relationship and had commitment issues. I also know people who break up when things get serious and they realize there are sacrifices for their families that they are not willing to make, or that they have different values, even though they still love each other very much. My breakup was amicable and for that reason, it hurt a lot.
@@meganod279 sometimes you fall out of love, and you feel like you are living a lie/leading them on even though you still deeply care for them. Sometimes love is all you have in common, and yall are incompatible for reasons outside of your control (e.g. principles/future plans don't align, maturity levels, etc.). No hate here, but there are many possibilities to consider.

i remember the day that i knew my ex was going to break up with me, it was valentine’s day and he was staying the night, which would be the last night i was with him. but we had talked about if he still wanted to be with me and it was super confusing so i suggested we just go to bed. but i remember laying there for hours just holding onto him, because i knew that this was the last time that i was going to be able to hold him like that. it was such an awful feeling and that pain is with me everyday still. you feel like your heart is being pulled out of your chest and there is nothing you can do about it.
f ri it was the pain of loving them so much but knowing that there is nothing you can do to get them to love you back again i felt that i had given up on him even tho he was the one gave up on me. it hurts like hell to love someone like that and talk to them everyday to go to feeling like they don’t care about you at all and never speaking again. He got me through a lot but I think my mindset is better now . Yes I will always miss him , and I'm glad I was able to put myself over him. Going through a break up after 8 years. My first relationship that I got into when I was 19. This has been the hardest shut of my life, but I’m lucky that my ex is very respectful and really didn’t want to make it any harder on me than necessary. I feel like I lost my entire identity. DIdnt eat for 2 weeks and I stayed up till 4am crying every night for the first 4 months. even called the suicide hotline a couple of times. I would curl up in a ball at work in the bathroom floor and would cry for hourrrsss. These past 2 months I started working on myself and its gotten better. Dont get me wrong I still my best friend and I still have breakdowns here and there but its not as bad as it used to be. It does get better. Just takes time

I could call him in the middle of the night if I needed help and he would come, no matter the distance. He saves up to pay for college so I do not have to get a loan and he is so open-minded about everything: from transgenders to sexuality or whatever you want. He would run the world for me and he gave me the home nobody else gave or could give me, without asking anything back for it.

I am watching this because I am currently going through a break up. I laugh at work to keep up my "always happy personality", but as soon as I get home I break down. All I do is think about her. My worst breakup was when my first love and I were having to do a temporary long distance thing because of some financial and work issues. I was sending money back to him while setting up our new home in another state and getting things in order. It turned out he was using the money I was sending to help him to finance a relationship with someone else. He waited until I travelled 1000 miles back to pack him up and move him to tell me he wasn't going to be moving and that he had fallen in love with someone else. He tried to claim he waited to tell me because he thought I deserved to hear it in person but I know the real reason was that he wanted to keep our dog and he knew I'd be bringing him with me for the trip. He was truly a narcissist of the highest order. I was so mad at myself for a long time after because I didn't understand how I could have missed/ignored all the warning signs that were so obvious looking back. Even within the first couple months of our relationship, there were red flags. Moral of the story is to trust your gut and protect your heart because nobody else can!

My worst breakup was with a guy who had 2 kids. I loved those kids like they were my own, helped raise them for years. We'd discussed what would happen if we ever broke up, and there was a mutual understanding and agreement that I could still be a part of their lives.
When we did break up, he changed his mind. Refused to let me speak to them, but would tell me how much they talked about me and that they were asking where I was and he really manipulated me emotionally. It was devastating and heartbreaking and required a LOT of therapy.
I haven't been in a relationship since, and this was in 2019. I've dated, but I'm just so guarded and hesitant. I don't think I could date somebody with kids ever again.
