Between athens and atlanta the music scene in the late 80’s and thru the 90’s was absolutely amazing. Best small music club scenes ever!
Big names emerged from those roots.
Amazing band, and Eric Von Haessler did an amazing job with the documentary
Ahh the good ole days in ATL with such a great music scene/ D & C, REM, The Producers, White Animals, B52’s to name a few. Great shows at The Roxy & beyond. I still love the band to this day 2024!
Kevin is a very talented and very kind human being
Just watched this after buying the DVD at a show. It's great. So is D'n'C. If there are old fans out there that haven't looked at them in a while, they are making awesome new music right now. 4 EPs in the past couple years each in a different style. Original and great. Also Great American Bubble Factory is a full album released in 2009, and it's a knockout. Buy it all, see them if you can.
I took two friends my age who had never gotten into DnC to the show in DC last week and they both walked away sincerely impressed, saying how great the show was. Kevn is a national treasure. God Bless DnC
fan since 88 here in Michigan...please do a National Tour!!
been a fan since the Ivory Tusk in late 89/early 90
I saw Kev'n play an acoustic show at the Ivory Tusk in the mid 90's. He dedicated a song to me and I almost fainted!
Go Hessler!
I am 40 and have never heard of them until about a month ago. Its weird how some bands just show up randomly from the past that everyone else seems to know about. Same thing happened with Corrosion of Conformity for me.
A band with sabotage issues. I first saw them open for The Georgia Satellites. A great sound, a mix of country, Southern Rock and Heavy Metal.
I'm 60. I first heard them on MTV back in 1989. MTV played the video for "Honeysuckle Blue" on its 120 minutes show. We went to see them here in Chicago shortly thereafter and have been a fan ever since. I sent letters to Rock stations here in Chicago but no one ever played them. Headed to see them tomorrow night. My daughter was 7 when I first saw them. She and her husband will be there with us tomorrow.
I'm sure it's gonna be all I ever wanted to know and not know about my favorite band ever.
Can't wait to see this movie. Been a huge fan since the 688 club days!
Just finished this. Awesome doc!
Can't wait to see this show at The Melting Point 5/2 ~! Fan since 688 as well. LOVE IT!
Saw them last night at the Belcourt, they played after the movie was shown. It was a fantastic evening!
Can't wait to see this!
Looking mighty fine. Very professional.
love it
Coming to Detroit in May. Working on the details now. Keep an eye on the DNC tour page.
Ooooh I'm a big Kevn fan in england and somehow this has passed me by (not go to the website enough I guess) this looks very highly cool ;-) How do I buy a DVD of this? is it out now & does it have a UK release?
Best Wishes Pete

People make it sound like these bands never played anywhere but Athens or Atlanta, which is total bullshit. I arrived at The University of Alabama in the fall of 1986 and saw Drivin' n Cryin just after their first album was released. The were a trio initially and played in our fraternity house basement. Saw them so many times it is hard to keep track in Tuscaloosa. They played in Birmingham for years at both Sloss Furnace and The Nick. Shit man, I've seen these guys at least a dozen times, maybe more, just in Alabama. The last time I saw them was four or five years ago in Destin, they were part of the Singer/Songwriter show and they were still awesome, although KK looks like he weighs 400 pounds. That first album grabs you by the throat. Scarred But Smarter, Keys To Me, and Count The Flowers. Awesome....
ummmm.....Awesome.
i wanna see it it's me Honeysuckle Blue!
Where can I watch the documentary?
It is on Amazon Prime as of now
