It's entirely possible Drivin' N' Cryin' is the most underrated band of my young adulthood. I'm ashamed to say I had to be reminded to give them a listen for the first time in a long time and now cannot stop.
@DOUG J. I used to think the same thing. I moved to Atlanta Georgia from New York City and I would roll my eyes at Drivin and Crying. Then I was invited to see them live a few times and the shows were pretty smoking hot. I'm 56 now and I will go anywhere within three hours of my house to see them play live and I'm in Athens,Georgia so I get to see them a lot. I would say it's one of the better live shows that I go see. So yes it's funny for me to go from totally thinking they were some stupid Southern Rock Band to finding they're one of my favorite bands out there.
I don't no what made me think of this song, as I sit here drinking a beer at the age of 43. But I saw them in concert in about 1991 in Nashville TN. It was one of the best times of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a college kid in Atlanta from the north in the early 90s. These guys were a welcome rock vibe vs the country music of the day. Looking back to college days. Was a good time.
I used to live in Columbia, SC back in the day and DnC would play all over 5 Points under different names. If you were in the know, you could catch a helluva show. Miss those days.
I saw them in Jacksonville FL in the late 90s after seeing them several times in Charleston SC and ATL. They were always fan favorites in Chas, but the folks in Jax didn't have a clue. Show was poorly attended but they still rocked. Glad to be back in good ol' Carolina where they appreciate good music.
My Uncle owned a little hole in the wall, back in the day, in Charleston. The club was named The Flying Dutchman and on occasion they would pull in a decent band or two. Allman, Skynyrd, Tucker, Nugent, Tull, Turner, Cocker, REO, KISS, Montrose, Eddie Van Halen and Thorogood, just too name a few. I believe Uncle Bubba said these guy played there a time are two as well, if my memory serves me right. If so, they would've fit right in.
1 of the first concerts i ever went to (many moons ago), where i could stand up close to the stage, and get a really good look at professionals at work! still in awe of these guys, and Kevn's take on life... great songs. great stories. great sound!
William Ford I know this is late to the party but, this is the 1st time I’ve seen this song and the audience was “not” singing well over the stage volume.
I was born and raised in minnesota and worked in georgia in the late 90s saw these guy at huge concert in downtown atl. almost 20 years later still love these guys a ton. Hes bad ass
They came to Columbus Georgia and I got so security at the establishment that night and meet them before and after. Helped them unload and load up. Great group and very genuine.
a recent rediscovery with this band and lovin' every single minute of it! Some great memories listening to these guys back in the day! Thank you Drivin' -N- Cryin'! Music is Timeless!
I am pretty sure the famous actor Rex Lin is in the audience. He’s the semi bald guy in the white shirt at 0:47 in the timeline. Otherwise this is a timeless time that I’ve played many times. Never ever fails to bring a smile to my face.
Every year Kevin hosts the "Jam by Day" at the Christmas Jam in Asheville. This song has become the (un)official Jam Kick Off song. Always a great time!
I've had this stuck in my head since hearing it on the way to work on Monday morning. Thankfully the day wasn't as bad as the implications. Still talk about an interesting song to wake up to. Hopefully this gets it out
I saw you guys do this epic tune in Toronto in 92 and 93 .... I was the crazy bastard who kept shouting "straight to hell" and "POWER - F$#@-in HOUSE" .... I almost got kicked up but I was just HIGH ON LIFE because I just got my 6 month AA chip and was flyin' high like OZZIE ...... everyone told me to SHUT-THE-FRONT-DOOR !!!! EPIC MADNESS ..... you guys still rock .... drive .... n ...... occasionally cry :(
This song really hits home. My mother had a nervous break down and my father left my brother and I in our early teens. We roamed the streets and went wild. That one summer I have never forgotten. Now many years later I look back and wonder....how the hell did I survive and have a succesful life.....I am still amazed at the strength from turmoil I gained
I've seen them in person twice- once at the University of Georgia in Athens, and once in Atlanta back their early '90's heyday. Good music conducive to heavy beer drinking.
That rocked. It also rolled me over laughing as an epic performance somehow juxtaposed with A&F models and an audience prepped for an Amish cattle auction.
One of two of the most underrated bands of all times....not that their not know but shit mags like rolling stone if they did i seen no cover....a good rock magazine ..that does act..great bands and music is most definitely needed
this is my f*in life in a song............... could hear it 100 times and more.
Sad to say I'm 59 and never heard this song or band until today. 😢
Ya missed out, buddy.
Better late than never
never too late.
What??
GA band!!

I don't no what made me think of this song, as I sit here drinking a beer at the age of 43. But I saw them in concert in about 1991 in Nashville TN. It was one of the best times of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A small town kid from the north in Atlanta in the 90s. Culture shock to say the least. Great band and great times.
As a college kid in Atlanta from the north in the early 90s. These guys were a welcome rock vibe vs the country music of the day. Looking back to college days. Was a good time.
I loved these guys when I was young. Still do.
This is a fantastic version of this song.
I used to live in Columbia, SC back in the day and DnC would play all over 5 Points under different names. If you were in the know, you could catch a helluva show. Miss those days.

just perfection regardless of (and perhaps because of) the weathered visual.

When an unwanted family member exits the family gets stronger. Finding your Father and reconciling would make it even stronger.
Beautiful song
Music.... the only language 👍👍👍
There was a time when Drivin n Cryin were like the Beatles in the South.
