Season One - Episode Two: "Cat's in the Bag..."
Episode Description:
Walt and Jesse (Aaron Paul) attempt to tie up loose ends. The desperate situation gets more complicated with the flip of a coin. Walt's wife, Skyler (Anna Gunn), becomes suspicious of Walt's strange behavior.
Episode Overview:
Now that his initial foray into the world of drug dealing has ended in the deaths of Krazy-8 and Emilio, Walt is no longer sure that he has what it takes to be Jesse’s partner. While he’s determined to end the arrangement just as soon as they dispose of the corpses, things take an unexpected turn when Krazy-8 slowly comes to life. Storing their makeshift motor home drug lab at Jesse’s, Walt heads home to plan his next move. However, after Jesse calls to demand that he take care of their unfinished business now, Skyler suspects that her husband is up to something. And with Skyler looking to satisfy her curiosity, Walt arrives at Jesse’s just in time to stop Krazy-8 from wandering off.
Unaware that Skyler is hot on his trail, Walt prepares to use some powerful acid he swiped from school to get rid of Emilio’s corpse. Though Walt wonders if they could possibly persuade Krazy-8 to join their fledgling drug ring, once Jesse points out his penchant for deadly revenge, it becomes clear that they are going to have to finish him off, too. So, after using a motorcycle lock to make sure Krazy-8 stays put, Walt gets the task of killing him, leaving Jesse to dispose of Emilio. Meanwhile, when confronted by Skyler, Walt claims that Jesse is a local drug dealer who has been selling him marijuana.
After an unexpected driveway confrontation with Walt’s angry wife, Jesse decides to cut a few corners and use his upstairs bathtub to liquefy Emilio. Once Walt returns, Jesse takes him to task for having revealed too much to Skyler. But as the two are arguing, Jesse gets a harsh lesson in chemistry when the acid dissolves Emilio’s body, the tub, floor, and ceiling before depositing a gooey, bloody mess on his kitchen floor.

It's a cool shot though.
They were not under it, they were on the side. You see, hydrofluoric acid will drip downwards vertically. However, it will not drip sideways diagonally. So there's that.
They're not directly under it, the shot is at a high angle where it points toward them at a longer distance. Basic camera work.

This would not happen in real life it been proven by myth busters...however do not put acid in your bathtub....bad smell....really bad..and toxic too could have anyone choke to death.....
idk why, but i was always scared of this scene, i would do everything to make sure people don’t make me watch it, accidentally watch it and it was on the same level as the whites eating breakfast. No reaction whatsoever
HF is not a strong acid by pH though
It's destructiveness mainly comes from the small size of Fluoride atom. It will break bond. Skin, flesh, bone, floorboard, ceiling etc. A drop on skin, you won't feel the pain until you see microscopic tunnel goes directly to the bone. Untreated two months later your whole arm is destroyed
No you didn’t
@@Rikard416 Hydrofluoric acid is actually a very strong acid, it just doesn't react with organic tissue nearly as quickly as something like concentrated hydrogen peroxide, or lye, a highly basic substance.

Jesse uses hydrofluoric acid to get rid of the corpse. This is extremely toxic and can only be used in a controlled environment with extreme safety measures. The gloves and masks he puts on are nowhere near enough, let alone them standing near it once the bathtub gives way. They would have suffered extreme lung and eye damage from just standing there.

The look of shock and horror on Walt's face when he realized what Jesse did is fucking hilarous 😂😂😂
In portuguese dubbing, instead of the original "So there's that", Bryan Cranston says to Aaron that he "Missed that class"
thats also a pretty good punch line
What makes this so memorable is how clueless Jesse was. He thought the plastic was weak and flimsy and that the acid would eat right through it.
When the acid is literally stored inside a plastic bottle.

God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell.
1 John 1:8-10 KJV
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
John 1:1-3,10 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Isaiah 44:6 KJV

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Acts 4:12 KJV
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I love how Walter is so confident about the fall 😂
I've always wondered, if Jesse had put saran wrap in the bathtub, would that have worked?
Probably, but some still would've went through.
Wrong kind of plastic. Saran wrap is polyvinylidene, Walt's instructions required polyethylene, the hardened plastic that tupperware is made out of. The acid still would have eaten right through.
@@tedioussugar384 Thanks for the info.
To be honest, when I said "saran wrap," I meant plastic wraps in general, like how some people say "jacuzzi" when they mean "hot tub." I apologize for the confusion. Anyway, I believe there are some plastic wraps made of LDPE, like Glad wrap. Would that have worked?

To be fair to Jessie, Walt should’ve Specifically said all the things that the acid would Dissolve. However to also be fair to Walt, Jessie should’ve just got the plastic anyway that way they could’ve chopped the body up.
Only a moron would use acid that dissolves bodies on a bathtub.

This scene made me sick for a week
and at the moment i watched this scene i knew i was watching a great show.
Yes man! That was THE MOMENT that sucked me in too. I knew from there that I'll have to watch the whole thing until the very end. Gorgeous decision. (I'm writing this after watching the whole show for like 7 times now)
Hydrofluoric acid eats through skin but reacts with the calcium in bones and is neutralized. The presence of bones suggests all the acid has been neutralized. It's highly unlikely the acid would eat through the enamel and steel of a tub before the soft tissue and bones in a body.
It's a matter of ratios. If there was enough acid in that tube it would have been more acid than the base could neutralize.
Emilio's acting in this scene was incredible. He had me convinced that he was in true pain after falling through the floor.
This shows that stupid friends are far more dangerous than smart enemies!
You think a man just happens to fall like that? No! He orchestrated it! Jesse!
Oh my God, the sounds in this scene turns my stomach. D: I love Bryan Cranstron's burning sarcasm in this scene too, it MAKES the scene.

This is the first Breaking Bad scene I ever watched, thanks for posting!
Huell would've easily found those plastic barrels
Then suddenly Lambert, Parker, Brett, Ash, Dallas, and Ripley come running down the stairs and stare at it dripping on the floor "It stopped..."
they should have dumped the body out in the desert - if it is remote enough to park a meth lab in broad daylight, it is remote enough to toss a body and pour some lye or acid on it.
or have the Vulture picks the body's remains. so there's that. lol
wilson blauheuer or just bury it.
The reason why they went this way is because Walter at this point planned on leaving the life after they got rid of the bodies and wanted to make sure there was a 0% chance anyone found out, not even a 0.0001% chance had he buried it out in the desert.
@@punctuationman334 the body disintegrates and decomposes better on the surface than under ground

For all the praise this show is given, that is some Malcolm in the Middle, cartoonishly unrealistic timing.
Slayer was right. It's raining blood
For all of his snark and attitude, Jesse knew he had to stand in total silence and take it from Walt after a fuck up of that magnitude
Jesse touches his nose and goes :
*"Did I dooo thaaat??"*
I was just thinking about this scene while on the crapper.. How did they ever end up fixing that anyway.
I think they just nailed in some wooden panels over the hole. Never got the stickiness out of the hallway floor.
it was at this moment that I realized was just more dramatic retelling of Pinky and the Brain.
