Lucky Hank, starring Bob Odenkirk, premieres March 19 on AMC.
Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.

All of the breaking bad actors and staff I’ve seen so far are also really cool people,so it’s no wonder the movie came out great
That’s a complaint I’ve had that I’m glad someone else could put into words.
Like, Call of Duty killed off more than enough of their protagonists with seamless ease in the original MW Trilogy whereas the reboot, even if it’s understandably popular, just can’t bring itself to kill anyone. They blew a guy up just to say he came back with a peg leg!
Gotta say now since MWIII: I still stand by this even if Soap [Spoiler courtesy expired] died just like that.

@@brockobama257 There was a scene in The Walking Dead where a character gets shot through the eye with a crossbow bolt mid-sentence, and something like this happens. She tries to continue speaking, but can't find the words... I had the same feeling there too.
It’s likely a heavy dose of shellshock, so his mind is just going through muscle memory. Business is done, get up and leave.
Interestingly enough, while definitely life threatening, this injury doesn’t appear immediately fatal (unless there’s fragmentation we can’t see.)
It’s probably the concussive force put out by that massive explosion that killed him, which explains why he’s able to move still.
It’s pretty unrealistic that he was still able to actually move that quickly and have that much control so quickly after the explosion, I mean, not only was he practically point blanking the explosion he was also missing much of his face. If he didn’t get knocked out or at the very least go into shock he would have been probably extremely dazed.

My dad is a cop, and he told us for years things he witnessed with adrenaline after fatal crushes or accidents. When people get up and start walking even with their both legs broken, thinking it’s nothing for a few seconds. Or similar things where people get up like they are perfectly fine, and later dying from injuries. Human body and brain is so fascinating.
I experienced that a bit. I got caught up in a current on the end of a jetty while boogie boarding. After several minutes of trying to get out of it I gave up and went to the side and eventually climbed up on the side of it. I got up and walked down it and back to the beach and a friend of mine asked me if I was alright. I said "Yeah" he then pointed down to my legs. Turns out I was bleeding all over from my lower legs and bottoms of my feet. The rocks were covered in barnacles. I did not feel a thing until it was pointed out to me then... man walking was excruciating.
My dad knew a cop with a story like this.
Officer pulls up to a car accident; vehicle collided into a tree at high speed. Driver is outside of the car, walking around, surveying the damage. She obviously has a broken nose but seems fine otherwise. This was before airbags were standard; her face hit the steering wheel on impact. Officer tries talking with the driver. She’s coherent, but mostly unable to speak due to her injury. She does the best she can.
During the short exchange, the driver stops to sneeze. Definitely uncomfortable, considering the broken nose. Her expression quickly goes from pained to completely blank, as she collapses to the ground. Dead instantly, blood pouring from her nose and mouth like a faucet.
The driver had broken much more than her nose. The pressure from the sneeze ruptured the fragile network of soft tissue holding her shattered skull together. She had also broken several ribs and one of her arms. Further investigation revealed that the driver was on so much cocaine at the time, it was possible that she was unaware of her pain. Never felt a thing.

Watching Walter and Gus hugging each other is quite wholesome
I remember staying up until 4am on an all night binger for this season. That scene took my freaking breath away.
The best part of this scene for me is the fact that the explosion was powerful enough to blow a door off it's hinges and send it flying across the hallway, but the wheelchair didn't budge aside from some split fabric and bent framing. The cartel really do take care of their elderly.
They just don’t make ‘‘em like they used to in the old country!
Well the way an explosion works is an extremely rapid expansion of gas especially since it was a pipe bomb Walt made so the aerodynamics of the chair allows the gas to pass right around. The door has such a large surface area as well as being the only escape route for gas not to also mention that two tiny hinges are much weaker than the metal tubes due to shape. A wheelchair is meant to bend in multiple directions in case of an accident. Most common doors are just meant to open and close with the hinges mostly withstanding a vertical force.
Also notice the fabric has giant holes in the middle and not the outside. This is because the gas expanding which pushes on the fabric like some sort of banner. The gas escapes in the path of least resistance which is the dead center as the fabric is attached to the tubes.
Might've got carried away but I just love this scene and the entire setup. Even if tio got absolutely obliterated but Gus only had a major case of fourth degree burn. Not realistic but perfect either way.
@@CommentBlewUp Underrated comment. Thank you for going through the science.
@@RadioactiveBlutonium Only reason to study engineering is to understand dangerous movie stunts
But also, the shockwave could go around the wheelchair frame, but couldn't go around the door. A big flat thing is like the ideal projectile from an explosion. But once the seat cushions are blown off, the wheelchair frame is so thin for its strength, it might be the ideal shape to survive the explosion.
This is the moment that sent chills down my spine, and is the moment I think of when Gus Fring comes to mind. He played that role perfectly. The writing and improv was perfect. The makeup was perfect. The timing was perfect. This was literally the perfect death scene and episode. You know that the actor did an amazing job when he gives you the chills even out of character!
Same Emmy's and Oscar's seem so arbitrary a good bit of the time. I feel like it's based more on how much the inner circle likes them and what gets them the most ratings. IDK I just feel they are rigged 2/3 times
I actually felt it was one of the only cheesy, unrealistic scenes in all of Breaking Bad. Don't get me wrong, I still love the show as a whole, but this was a little silly to me.
@@bendynamic2150 Think less of the Oscars as a competition or sporting event, where the judges are truly trying to find the best entrant, and more as an awards show for other professionals, like the Professional Engineer of the year or Teacher of the year. Professional awards are given to people who have had good careers and than one year someone nominates them for the award for something they did and the judges pick them. He is the goat and his death is so sad for me
Rip Don Hector 🙏🏼
Breaking Bad is one of very, VERY few TV shows that I can think of which never lost its narrative quality. It was excellent from beginning to end.
@@lynnemorgan6625 fly is deep but it's just a little too long
@@lynnemorgan6625 Fly is great
I think it got better, in the first season there is a lot of stuff that isn't quite there yet - like the role of the family, by the thris season it all clicks.
@@lynnemorgan6625Fly has the excuse of being required to be made, budget-wise
Makes it even better I think. Worked with what they had and made it fit in the story well. Walt obsessing over the one problem he actually could fix@@roddydykes7053
What I like so much about this scene is that we're seeing what Gus is doing while semi-unconscious, which he would be from such a severe head-injury. He starts adjusting his tie on autopilot, his body is acting out the "appropriate" thing to do, before finally collapsing. He's more professional with a concussion than most people are normally.
i love that this was posted. we need more behind the scenes features like this. this one episode deserved a closeup feature. im so thrilled to watch this again!
RIP Mark :(
The way he walks out, still holding his composure as he drops
This is a great scene
@Tech he said composure, its a basic word
@@VPshandlewasstolen wait till he found about IELTS
This is so good. I loved the way Gus died, fixing his tie and stuff while basically having his other half of the face blown up. Really shows off his personality.
One of the best shot I screamed when the shot reveal the other side of Gus
To me the show ended when Gus died. He was such a positive structure to the show, once he was gone the show just didn't have the same quality.
Mike said it best:
"Just because you shot Jessie James, doesn't make you Jessie James."
It feels illegal seeing gus fring act this happy and fun
I'm 60 years old... And to me, this is best series ever!
66 years old ...the best series. I'm watching it now for the 3rd time
I agree there's nothing I've seen before or after that even comes close. I don't recall a series ever having as many perfect episodes as I recalled this one having. This sets the bar. There's also no story arc that even comes close to this one.
@@humaneIP I think my second place would have to be The Walking Dead
76 and still going strong boys!
I'm 41, and it's bittersweet, because I may live to be 100 and never will there be anything quite as amazing as Breaking Bad was when I was in my 30s.
Gus fixing his tie before collapsing was iconic
I love Mr. Esposito's portrayal of Gustavo Fring and although this scene was indeed impressive, I still think it comes in a distant second to the scene in the lab when he cuts the throat of an unfortunate employee in front of Mike, Jessie and Mr. White as a reality check to how expendable they all were. A brilliant performance.
Legendary..
Victors death
I read an interview with Giancarlo Esposito about his experiences filming that scene. He said it really f*cked with his head as he’s very much a nonviolent person. Apparently took him awhile to get his head into the necessary mind frame to do a scene so vicious, and then to get over it emotionally afterwards.
@margob6203 that doesn't surprise me. He seems like such a friendly guy in real life.
15:50 Marc margolis is so good in his role repeatedly that you don't expect him to walk down the hall and speak in perfect english.
There’s something very wholesome about Brian, Giancarlo, and Mark just casually joking with one another on set, especially after Giancarlo felt very self conscious about the makeup (whether it be for trying to stay in character or just the idea of people seeing him horribly disfigured)
To say I am impressed with the amount of effort put into this episode would be an understatement
It's been 5 or 6 years since I finished watching Breaking Bad and this was by far the most memorable moment in the show for me.
does this have season 5 spoilers?
@@BubblesGMD No
BIG RESPECT for the actor to wait in the room while the explosion goes off so he can exit the room realistically
Now that's professionalism
not everyone can dedicate their life for their work
What do you mean? The explosion and the exiting of the room are two different shots. He wasn't in the room during the explosion.
@@chochtopf8682 Have some respect, a great actor died just to give you this epic scene.
@@chochtopf8682 Only a hack would do that in two shots. These are trained professionals designed to take explosions at close ranges. If they die on the job they double their pay.
“They’ll just be blown away.”
Yup.
The scene chills me 9 years later.
The two nurses were the best part of the scene. Great acting.
Arguably the best part of the entire series. Just phenomenal

many thanks to the entire crew for creating this masterpiece and, of course, especially this scene.
the fact i can see the thingy that controls the eyeball movement move when gus moves his eye is fucking astonishing. this show is by far the best tv series to exist. (in my opinion)

Went back and rewatched that moment and yeah, I hope they paid the VFX guy/s more for that. Really sells the moment.

Vince has to be the most selfless show creator I've ever heard speak, and you can tell he doesn't put it on just to sound humble and self deprecate. He always goes out of his way to thank his team and give credit where credit is due.
